Chapter 1113: Chapter 866 Departure
"I’ve decided not to have any more dealings with that planet," the Bone King said reluctantly.
"We wouldn’t presume to expect your help for nothing, so we hoped to make an exchange with you," Long Yi stepped forward and said.
"An exchange? I know you’re very powerful, and I’ve experienced your strength and cunning firsthand, but you don’t have anything I want," said the Bone King.
"No, I do," Long Yi extended a hand, and after a moment’s hesitation, the Bone King reached out as well. And in the instant their hands met, the Bone King immediately started trembling nervously.
"Hey, hey, Long Yi, don’t you do anything outrageous, alright? The Bone King isn’t some bad guy! But you definitely don’t want to provoke him!" Brick, who was nothing more than a head and a piece of skin, yelled from the side.
"You don’t even have lungs, how are you talking?" Little Zi asked curiously.
"Nonsense! You’re a Female Demon without even a whole body, can’t you still talk?" Brick bellowed with bulging eyes.
"Hee hee," Little Zi immediately giggled, feeling embarrassed.
Meanwhile, Long Yi and the Bone King had let go of each other’s hands.
"I understand," the Bone King said, "I will help you, and afterwards, there really is something I’d like your help with."
Long Yi nodded and replied, "Don’t worry, I’ll do everything in my power to help you."
Brick looked at the Bone King skeptically as he put himself back together, whispering, "Hey, what kind of magic soup has that kid poured into you? Why did you agree just like that? Didn’t you say no matter what, we can’t go back to the Second Hell because it’s fraught with danger?"
But the Bone King said, "Because I can’t resist the temptation that was offered."
Brick was utterly confused, "What temptation?"
"To become a more normal life form," said the Bone King.
"Hey! Are you dumping me?" Brick exploded, his own life entirely dependent on the Bone King’s sustenance. If the Bone King left, wouldn’t that mean his death?
"Hey hey, both of you are male, do you have to speak so suggestively?" Little Zi said with a giggle from the side.
"Go on, what do you know, young girl?" Brick waved his hand, realizing he had regained control of his body.
"Rest assured, I definitely know more than you. Just relax, okay? I guarantee you won’t be at a loss," Little Zi said.
Brick was filled with unease, but he did not continue to object. After all, his life had been saved by the Bone King, and without him, he would have been long dead. The control of the body was always in his own hands, and since the Bone King had made his decision, even if it meant walking through fire and swords, he had to brave it.
Brick asked his boss for leave. As a veteran gladiator, of course, the boss wasn’t going to stop a top fighter from leaving, especially since he was leaving with Long Yi. In theory, these arenas should be considered Long Yi’s private property anyway.
After purchasing some supplies, Brick left the Stellar Realm Arena with Long Yi. They boarded a commercial spacecraft, and Long Yi instantly noticed they were being followed by three individuals trying their best to keep a low profile. Their occasional glimpse of anti-mental power headbands gave them away, however.
"It seems that the Ancient Mage Tower has been keeping an eye on our every move, huh?" Long Yi whispered.
"That’s not surprising, this could be part of their plan," Little Zi nodded towards Landers, who was resting with his eyes closed.
Long Yi smiled. If Landers was indeed a part of their plan, then he must really be committing a lot. Unless he had an incomparably deep hatred with Long Yi, he didn’t believe Landers would dare to pull such a stunt.
After several spaceship transfers, the planets grew increasingly desolate. Eventually, Long Yi and his group rented a small spaceship, and those who had been following them switched up a few times, falling behind at this point. Attempting to track a spaceship in the vastness of the cosmos is simply too unrealistic—you’ll certainly lose them if too far, and surely be noticed if too close.
Once discovered by Long Yi, there’s only one outcome, usually without exception.
The rented spaceship landed on a nondescript planet, dropped off Long Yi and his party, and then left on its own, while Long Yi’s grand explorer ship, The Great Explorer, was hidden right here.
"Come on, let’s continue our journey."
This was Landers’ first time seeing Long Yi’s The Great Explorer, never before had he seen such a uniquely styled spaceship.
"This style, it feels most similar to a Giant spaceship," said Landers.
"It’s not an imitation, this is a Giant spaceship," Long Yi said.
"Really?" Landers’ eyes widened in astonishment.
"Of course," Long Yi led everyone aboard, where the internal structure had been modified, leaving only one path leading straight to the bridge.
"Let’s go. While those fools from the Ancient Mage Tower are still clueless, let’s hurry and find the Second Hell before someone else beats us to it."
The spaceship took off and accelerated to an astonishing degree within a short time. Landers had never seen such a fast spaceship, especially one that, despite its rapid acceleration, left no sensation within its interior.
Brick and the Bone King seemed quite composed; they had been silent all the while. It was apparent that returning to the Second Hell made the Bone King somewhat anxious.
"While we have the chance now, why don’t you tell me about the Second Hell," Long Yi approached Brick.
"It is a place that no one likes to mention, especially for a being like me, who isn’t very powerful but has sufficient wisdom. To be able to survive there with difficulty is our greatest hope, so I took every opportunity to escape from that place. Fortunately, I met Landers, whose contract allowed me to leave that terror, a horror incomparable even by the worst nightmares," the Bone King spoke through Brick.
"What should we watch out for there?" Long Yi asked.
"Battle. Kill every creature you see. The only purpose of any creature there approaching you is to kill you, devour you, and take your power. No matter how they sugarcoat their words, the outcome will not change," the Bone King said.
"From the looks of it, it’s quite a straightforward place, saves a lot of mental trouble."
"Indeed, you don’t need to think there, fighting and surviving are all you need to do."
After that, the Bone King didn’t say anything more, just staring blankly into space.
Long Yi looked at the Bone King and Landers, and suddenly said to Little Zi through the contract, "For some reason, I feel like something’s not quite right."
"Is it because everything has gone too smoothly?" Little Zi asked.
"On the one hand, that’s the reason. On the other hand, I’ve searched through all the records, and there’s no mention of this Second Hell anywhere. To be honest, considering the Giants’ obsession with the Divine, if the Divine really did leave behind this Second Hell, then the Giants shouldn’t be unaware of it," Long Yi explained.
"Do you think it’s a trap?" Little Zi asked.
"I can’t be sure now, but at least this time the motivations are not purely simple," Long Yi said.
"So, are we stopping now?" Little Zi asked.
"There’s no need for that. If it’s fake, then we can use this chance to figure out what the other side has been up to lately," Long Yi said, "and besides, the Bone King should be authentic, especially after he learned I was a Giant. The only uncertainty now is what Landers’s stance really is."
"Brother Long, are you suggesting that Landers might have joined the Ancient Mage Tower or even that this is a plot of his own devising?"
"We can’t rule out this possibility. In any case, let’s both be cautious," Long Yi advised.
The Great Explorer raced at tremendous speed, and under the Bone King’s guidance, they arrived at the surface of a pitch-black planet. The planet wasn’t large, but it had immense gravity, and the surface seemed to be composed entirely of metal.
"Is this the place?"
Long Yi stomped forcefully on the ground, which was incredibly solid.
"Yes, this is the Second Hell, the place constructed to imprison the Divine’s failed creations," the Bone King declared.
"It’s quieter here than I expected." Long Yi bent down, reached out, and touched the ground. It was not as cold to the touch as he thought it would be but was rather warm.
"That’s because we’re only on the outside layer. The Divine used a special kind of steel to completely seal this place, with the intent of preventing her failed creations from escaping. And the thickness of this steel is three thousand meters," the Bone King explained.
Long Yi tried using the power of Iron Rock and indeed, within the extent of the power’s reach, it was all the same steel.
"Alright, so do we dig a hole to get in, or find a door?" Long Yi sensed around; if he employed the power of Iron Rock, he could dig a hole ten meters deep in one go. For three thousand meters, it would take three hundred tries, certainly not easy.
"There’s a secret passage here. It’s the only place on this completely sealed planet where energy can flow, so we can use it to teleport. It was at that spot that I felt Landers’s contract and was ultimately able to escape," the Bone King said.
"Then what are we waiting for?"
Following the Bone King’s lead, everyone moved swiftly across the terrain, and after about fifteen minutes, they arrived at a noticeable depression in the ground, resembling the funnel-shaped bottom of an apple. The group jumped down along the edge of the hole and landed at the bottom, where they could see a massive Array.
"Initially, the Divine used this place to send her failed creations inside, and we can also use it to teleport. However, before we enter, I need to remind you that inside is full of the power of Hell, and you’d better take some protective measures," the Bone King said, stripping naked and also peeling off Brick’s outer skin, holding Brick’s head and saying, "It’s very dangerous in there, so I’ll have to impose on you a bit, my friend."
Brick grimaced and said, "As a Dwarf, I should fear nothing, but given what I am now, what more can I say? Hahaha!!"
The Bone King’s rotund body opened a seam and he stuffed both Brick’s head and skin inside.
"I have prepared potions for you to resist the power of Hell; they’re effective even on energy bodies," Landers said, pulling out several potion bottles from his personal space.
"I don’t need it, the power of Hell is my good companion," Little Zi shook her head, joking about it? As a Female Demon, the power of Hell was a supplement for her!
"I don’t need it either, I have means to counter the power of Hell," Long Yi stated. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets on Qidian. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
