Chapter 1082: Chapter 835: Perform Now

"Who the hell are you? Tired of living?" A man with an incredibly foul temper charged directly at Long Yi, raising his hand to strike Long Yi’s face. But before he could touch Long Yi, his own face had already fiercely collided with Long Yi’s boot. Being a mage, he had almost no defenses, and he hadn’t used any mana to protect himself, naively assuming that the newcomer would be easy to bully. The result was that his face was completely smashed, his neck snapped in an instant, and he spun several times in the air before crashing heavily to the ground, never to rise again.

This action stunned everyone, for they hadn’t expected anyone here to dare to confront them!

"Heh, looks like someone really is tired of living!" A man who seemed to be the leader sneered and settled back into his chair. With an impatient wave of his hand, he said, "Get rid of this idiot quickly, don’t delay our show."

Instantly, two men rushed out with sinister laughter.

But the leader had barely settled into his seat when the two men who had just charged out were sent flying back—one after the other. They landed right in front of him, each with a massive boot print on their chests, their chests caved in, and the men were already void of breath and heartbeat.

"This isn’t the Ancient Mage Tower. Such injuries might be trivial there, but here, they can be fatal."

The voice of Long Yi came from behind. The leader was startled, realizing that the newcomer was evidently well-versed about the Ancient Mage Tower.

"Who the hell are you!" He turned his head to look at Long Yi, but the theater’s dim lights made it impossible for him to see clearly.

"Guess!"

Whoosh!

The Cosmic Stone Greatsword appeared, its light illuminating Long Yi’s face.

"Long Yi! It’s Long Yi!"

Someone with sharp eyes recognized Long Yi.

"Indeed, it’s me. Now do you know who’s really tired of living?" Long Yi grinned revealing a chilling set of white teeth.

"Don’t be afraid! He’s just one person! We have thirty! Combine our magic for a Resonance! Destroy him!"

Clang!

No sooner had the man finished speaking than a crystalline Dragon Spear had pierced through his chest, nailing him firmly to the ground. The scorching crystal sealed his wound instantly, without a single drop of blood spilling out.

"If numbers were of any use, would the old bastard Elma really need to go to such lengths to manipulate all these small nations?" Long Yi continued hurling crystalline Dragon Spears, pinning people frantically fleeing to the floor, walls, and even the ceiling. Some were not nailed securely and had a second spear through them!

"Please... we... we didn’t mean it..."

The man in the lead spoke in agony as the searing crystal scorched him. Though the wound wasn’t fatal, the smell of burning flesh made it clear that if he couldn’t escape, he would eventually die!

By this time, the theater’s owner had awoken, completely oblivious to what had transpired, only to see those who had been beating him up now helplessly nailed in place.

"How about this—I’ll give you a chance to live." Long Yi suddenly smiled, then gestured to the theater owner. Though the latter didn’t understand what happened, he realized that this new presence was even more formidable, and he dared not defy him.

"And you, stop the act! Turn on the lights! Come down!" Long Yi shouted.

The theater’s lights came on, and the actors came down one after another.

"Look, these people were just insulting you. And now they’re begging for my forgiveness. To be honest, I’d rather give you the power to decide their fate. They said your performance wasn’t good, didn’t they? Now it’s their turn to perform. If you think their performance is good, use this to shatter the crystal and free them."

With that, Long Yi left behind a small crystal hammer, handing it over to the theater owner standing by.

"Remember, you only have half an hour, after which these crystals will explode. So, start performing."

Having said that, Long Yi simply walked away.

The theater’s door shut with a heavy thud, and Long Yi disappeared. The owner of the theater, face swollen and bloody, held the crystal hammer in his hand, scanning each person present.

"Let us go, and it’ll be like none of this ever happened."

The man from the Ancient Mage Tower spoke in a low voice.

However, the theater manager just smiled, spat out a mouthful of blood, and said, "Well, who among you will perform first?"

The man’s heart skipped a beat at these words, and he burst into cursing, "Don’t you really think he’ll protect you forever! If we die, this theater won’t last either! You’ll all be dead!"

But the theater owner laughed even harder, and not just him, all the actors and staff burst into laughter, "Whatever happens to us, it’s no longer any of your concern, know why? Because you’re already dead! Now, there’s only twenty-five minutes left!"

The person leading the group wanted to say something more, but another person suddenly shouted, "I’ll perform! I’ll perform!"

Once the first person had taken the lead, more people began to shout chaotically; everyone wanted to be the first to perform. No one wanted to die, and the searing pain at their wounds constantly stung them.

"Shut up, all of you! I’m performing first!" the leader bellowed. But who would listen to him at this moment of life and death? Each person began to chaotically perform their act. Meanwhile, everyone in the theater watched silently, one act following another, their faces growing colder and colder.

Some of the more timid people began to cry, some even called for their mothers. Everyone knew that there was no chance of being saved!

"Enjoy, gentlemen, this grand performance presented with your lives!"

Boom!

All the crystals exploded into fireballs, each person was blown apart from within, burned to ash.

The theater owner pocketed the crystal hammer into his private space and said to everyone, "Go on home, I’ll take care of things here."

However, everyone shook their heads. As long as people from the Ancient Mage Tower were around, no place was safe. It was better to stay put for mutual support.

"Fine, let’s all stay here then. Someone go notify the city defense... Haha, as if there’s any city defense left. Just go and inform the people from the Ancient Mage Tower to come and collect the bodies."

The owner let out a sigh; the situation had come to this, and all that was left was to leave things to fate.

However, outside the theater at this moment, Long Yi was smiling.

This was just the beginning.

The mighty Ancient Mage Tower had been wiped out twice in a short period of time. Once, three people, and now, thirty people—this was an outright slap in the face. The affair was reported up the chain swiftly, and the people in charge of planetary affairs initially flew into a rage, deciding to rally all their forces to avenge their fallen brethren. But as soon as Long Yi’s name appeared on their desk, all actions were immediately put on hold.

This name had the same meaning throughout the entire Plane, even within the Ancient Mage Tower itself.

It signified trouble.

As a matter of fact, the residents of the Ancient Mage Tower who lacked higher-level access had no idea that a significant reason for the Ancient Mage Tower’s control over this Plane was to counter Long Yi. Although this had not been officially confirmed by those at the top, it was an open secret to nearly everyone.

In theory, after taking control of this country, they should have immediately set about establishing a military entirely under their command. But just as Long Yi had predicted, these people, once let off the leash, were not yet accustomed to their freedom; how could they so quickly bring everything back in line? Their managers were much the same, nobodies in the Ancient Mage Tower, yet here they lived like emperors!

Thus, with an attitude of turning a blind eye here and there, the construction of the planet’s Ancient Mage Tower military never really took off.

And now, with Long Yi unexpectedly showing up early, they had no suitable way to deal with him!

"What should we do?"

What had once been the Emperor’s study was now the meeting room of the Ancient Mage Tower. Thirteen people surrounded a large desk, furrowing their brows. At this moment, what filled their minds was not how to deal with Long Yi, but how to escape this cursed place.

Deal with Long Yi?

As if! If Long Yi had been that easy to handle, would they even need to bother themselves here? They had come to enjoy themselves, not to lose their lives. But where could they go upon leaving this place? The Ancient Mage Tower? Sorry, before they left, no one had informed them of its exact location; all orders had been communicated through messengers.

Escape to another planet? Every planet of note had already been assigned people by the Ancient Mage Tower. If they were to flee there disgracefully, their lives would be over!

"Maybe we should just summon all the mages of the Ancient Mage Tower to the Imperial City. Perhaps seeing our numbers, he will reconsider and back down," one of them suddenly suggested.

"Barely two hundred people, moreover, two hundred who have just achieved the rank of Sanctuary Mage. Is that enough to scare Long Yi away?" another retorted, shaking his head.

"Then suggest something better!" The challenged party banged the table and bellowed.

"Quiet down!" the person sitting at the center shouted, and both of them instantly fell silent.

"Just the mere Long Yi himself has got you all shaken up like this. If he actually brought an army, would you drop dead of fright on the spot?" he continued raising his voice. Everyone lowered their heads. Without saying a word, they all understood that if Long Yi truly brought an army, there would be no point in having this meeting; they would all flee for their lives at the first opportunity.

"Seal off the Imperial City, no one is allowed in or out. At the same time, notify all our people to return to the Imperial City immediately, but don’t disclose any information about Long Yi," the man instructed, then sighed somewhat helplessly, "After that, we’ll just have to wait and see what Long Yi wants to do."

Almost everyone sighed inwardly at the same time; yes, faced with Long Yi, they dared not make the first move. All they could do was play defense and wait patiently for Long Yi’s move.

But at that moment, Long Yi was in a place none of them could ever conceive.

Right above them. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to visit Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets, monthly tickets, and your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
