Chapter 1056: Chapter 809: The Last Seed
Long Yi firmly believed that when a person lied, they must have their own purpose. Not giving Long Yi the key meant they didn’t want Long Yi to leave, but what was the purpose of keeping Long Yi here?
Long Yi had helped Elma become even stronger, and Ai Lin had helped Elma achieve rejuvenation. Did he want to hold onto these two powers forever? Or was there another scheme?
"What else do you know about this Elma?" Long Yi asked.
"I’m not clear on the details, but I did learn that Elma seems to have had some communication with life-forms from the fissure."
Life-forms from the fissure?
This was the first time Long Yi had heard the term.
He took out a Giant tablet, and on the Giant tablet, he found the definition of life-forms from the fissure.
Each space and space are not tightly bound together, there are huge gaps between them. Some inexplicable life-forms live within these gaps, some incredibly powerful, some very weak, some with only instinct, while others are full of wisdom. But all life-forms from the fissure share one common goal—destruction of space.
The Giants had come into contact with life-forms from the fissure many times and eventually defined them as crazed entities beyond communication. Even among those life-forms that possessed intelligence, everything they did was for the destruction of space, merging space and fissure as one.
This was somewhat hard to understand.
"Elma is involved with these beings?"
Long Yi was puzzled, but he trusted the words of the God Chaser who now occupied Solis’s body because at this moment, the God Chaser was the least likely to deceive him.
"You go back first, we’ll act as if the recent events never happened. You continue your struggle with them. As for these life-forms from the fissure, I need to study them carefully."
Long Yi told the God Chaser.
The God Chaser immediately obeyed the order and left. Once out of Long Yi’s sight, he immediately resumed the appearance of Solis without any flaw, but only he knew that Long Yi was the only one he obeyed.
"It seems I made a mistake," Little Zi said, blaming herself.
"No, it’s my fault. I seem to have become too complacent," Long Yi said.
"In any case, if I could always cast a spell to detect lies on him, perhaps we would have gotten the third key by now," Little Zi said.
"It’s alright, now that we know he holds the third key, it definitely can’t escape us," Long Yi said.
"What should we do? Should I just use hypnosis to get the key from him?" Little Zi said somewhat fiercely.
"I’m afraid that won’t work. If he does indeed plan to deal with us, then resisting mental powers would certainly be the first thing he does," Long Yi replied.
"Then what should we..."
"Let’s wait and see, and find out what he is really up to. After all, the key is what’s most important right now."
"Alright."
Returning from deep within the building, Long Yi saw Elma again. Ever since he found out that this was Monument Star, Elma’s spirits had not been quite right, still blaming himself for disturbing the Giant’s slumber. Of course, he had not told anyone about this, as the knowledge here was priceless.
"How did it go, did you make any findings?" Elma asked Long Yi.
"Nothing. It’s empty here, even the Giants wouldn’t set up anything of use in this place," Long Yi said.
"Alright, all the pilgrims have returned, so shall we leave now?" Elma inquired.
"Yes, let’s leave."
Returning to the Ancient Mage Tower, the pilgrims left the small spaceship under the envious gaze of everyone else. For a very long period to come, what they had discovered would become the focus of the Ancient Mage Tower’s research. But Long Yi didn’t care about that; all he wanted was the third key. If he were to directly ask Elma for it, and if Elma indeed harbored schemes against him, then the key would definitely never appear again, so Long Yi did not dare take the risk.
So, the impostor Solis took on this task.
At the moment, Solis was still contending with Elma for control of the Ancient Mage Tower, which in turn could lower Elma’s guard. Long Yi had planned to continue exploring more of the Underground City, but a new message came that made Long Yi unable to sit still any longer.
The tree seed capable of devouring all planets was finally found, but it was already too late, the seed had taken root and sprouted. This victimized planet was the very first planet Long Yi arrived at when he came to this plane!
Unable to wait for the Ancient Mage Tower’s slow flight speed, Long Yi took Ai Lin, Silverlight, Little Zi, and Xiaodie and returned here directly through teleportation.
When Long Yi arrived at the Mountain Giant planet, he hardly recognized it. In his memory, the Mountain Giant’s planet had few trees and was more rocky, with various enormous stones. But now, most of the planet was covered by a huge forest!
Following his memory, Long Yi arrived at the location of the Black Rock Tribe, where the entire tribe had vanished. Apart from some stone houses proving they once lived here, everything else was gone.
Then came White Rock, Fire Rock, Ice Rock, Iron Rock, Wood Rock. One by one, Long Yi visited each tribe, but not a single Mountain Giant was to be found!
Although Long Yi’s stay here was brief, he had developed a fondness for these simple Mountain Giants. Because here, he almost never encountered anyone truly bad.
Boom!
With a heavy punch, Long Yi shattered an incredibly thick tree trunk in front of him. He then stared harshly at the broken stump and said fiercely, "I swear, if anything really happened to them, I will make sure not a single molecule of this planet remains!"
Long Yi’s punch immediately triggered a massive chain reaction, countless thick roots surged from below ground, their energy-laden tips stabbing towards every intruder.
But the damage from these root systems was very limited, except for Xiaodie, no one here could be harmed by them. And Xiaodie, with her powerful energy devouring capability, could swallow all the energy from a root the moment it touched her, rendering a regular root harmless.
Even though the root systems were initially not particularly threatening, there were only five of them, and in the chaos, Long Yi became even more irritable.
At its core, the reason these seeds were launched was fundamentally due to Long Yi himself. And if the Mountain Giants had suffered a catastrophe because of him, Long Yi would never be able to forgive himself no matter what.
Just then, the ground in the distance exploded, flames and magma spewed out. A huge Molten Beast roared as it burst from underground, followed by many more Molten Beasts rushing out of that fissure, they simply needed to ignite their bodies to burn those roots and branches, creating a fiery path in the midst of the surrounding attacks.
"These... are Molten Beasts!?" Long Yi exclaimed excitedly.
Originally, he had tossed some Molten Beast Crystal Cores into the Magma river at the Fire Rock Tribe, and soon after that, he left the planet. He did not expect the Molten Beasts to still exist!
Clearly, the Molten Beasts had not appeared because they discovered Long Yi, but they visibly excited upon seeing him. With one enormous Molten Beast at the forefront, scorching magma forcibly opened a pathway, then the Molten Beasts surrounded Long Yi in the center, the magma melting through the rock layers, and the ground where Long Yi and his companions stood began to sink slowly. The huge Molten Beast used its body to create a shield, protecting Long Yi and the others as they descended. Despite numerous roots attempting to attack, those roots were instantly turned to ash after passing through the magma. Although the roots were enveloped with terrifying energy, the Molten Beasts were not merely about high temperatures, the power of Fire Rock flowed within them. Enough to wear away the energy on the roots, leaving the rest to the high heat.
After who knows how long, the great Molten Beast recovered. Gone were the barriers, and Long Yi finally saw they had arrived underground, a huge opening above them, with magma dripping all around. And on the pure stone inner walls around them, roots like tentacles continued to reach down from above, whenever a root fell, a light below would immediately burst forth, burning the root to ashes.
Long Yi approached the edge of his stone platform and discovered that the normally pitch-black Underground City below was dazzlingly lit. And the source of that light was the huge fruits on the giant trees!
Every few tens of kilometers, there was a giant tree, each fruit shining like the sun, emitting light and heat while also firing lethal beams to destroy any root attempting to stretch down from the sky.
At that moment, Long Yi realized that the platform they were on had not descended out of nowhere. Beneath it, a stone pillar nearly as thick as the platform itself was supporting it, and below, two people were looking up.
As the platform lowered, Long Yi and the others jumped down, a group of Molten Beasts melted the entire platform into magma—obviously, no one wanted anything that shouldn’t be there hiding within the rock to come down.
"Uncle Old Stone Fist?" Long Yi’s eyes widened when he recognized one of the people.
"Long Yi?" Old Stone Fist was also stunned.
"The brat who stole our Fire Rock Sacred Rock for the Ice Rock tribe!" another old man shouted.
"The old man who scared me on the Lava Bridge!" Long Yi also exclaimed in shock.
"Does this mean we’re all on the same side?" Ai Lin squeezed forward.
"Cough cough, remember that Uncle Old Stone Fist I told you about?" Long Yi stepped back half a step, introducing the few girls. The four girls immediately came over to greet him politely.
"Eh, this one is the Elder of the Fire Rock Tribe. Although there were some misunderstandings, in the end, we cleared them up," Long Yi explained.
Watching the four girls bow and greet him, the Fire Rock Elder, being the elder, couldn’t puff up and glare, especially with such a great height difference.
"You left, didn’t you, kid? How come you’re suddenly back?" Old Stone Fist asked Long Yi.
But Long Yi took a careful look at Old Stone Fist’s expression, found nothing out of the ordinary, and then said, "I came back because of this incident."
