Chapter 627: Chapter 613: Demigod Mummy

The entire street was dyed red with blood, and besides that, there were broken limbs and howling zombies everywhere. After a prolonged battle, only a few of the zombies were still standing; they were the victors among these tens of thousands of zombies and deserved some reward.

"Whiz!"

"Whiz!"

A few arrows shot out, nailing themselves accurately into their foreheads. In the next second, their souls were sucked up into the air, merging with countless other souls.

At this moment, these souls had already condensed into a ball, gray in color, filled with terrifying soul waves!

"What a dreadful soul pressure..." Elwin’s face showed a hint of paleness. She realized that under the pressure of that soul, her Soul Perception Power was entirely suppressed within her body, unable to escape at all.

This Soul Ball contained an unknown number of zombies’ Origin Power. As undead, these souls had long become chaotic, but that didn’t matter, as long as they were useful for summoning, it was enough!

This was not an ordinary blood sacrifice, but a soul sacrifice. If it weren’t for Saruman’s assistance, Chen Feng couldn’t possibly have successfully condensed such a Power of the Soul.

Though these zombies were no longer human, witnessing that brutal battle just now made Chen Feng slightly uncomfortable. It wasn’t pity, but an indescribable feeling.

Among these zombies were millionaires or graduates from prestigious universities, but in Naraku’s hands, they all turned into ruthless zombies. No one could fathom the fear they experienced just before death.

Countless souls gathered within, creating such negative emotions that even the sky turned black, with not a single ray of sunlight able to penetrate.

Chen Feng gazed at these souls, murmuring to himself: "An animosity has a cause, and a debt has a debtor. If you truly hold grudges, you should seek Naraku!"

But these souls had long lost awareness. Inside the Soul Ball, they charged around, seemingly wanting to break out and kill every living creature they encountered. These soul entities only possessed the most primitive instinct for slaughter, even now not forgetting to kill each other. As they devoured each other continuously, some of the souls started becoming lucid, a scene so similar to before with Naraku.

If left unchecked, those devouring enough soul entities could become ghosts. If they actually escaped, it would be catastrophic for ordinary people.

However, everything remained under Chen Feng’s control. He would not give them the chance to turn into ghosts, for now, he was about to sacrifice them, transforming them into a channel to communicate with a stronger entity!

His dark eyes stared intently at the violent souls rushing forward, an unusual eye blossoming in his right eye. Then, he spread his five fingers, pressing them hard against the ground. A mystical Summoning Array lit up, and those souls seemed to be subjected to immense suction, instantly swallowed by the Magic Array!

At the same time, a pitch-black coffin appeared out of nowhere, all the souls vanished into the stone coffin. An extremely evil aura emanated from the surface of the coffin, accompanied by a decaying smell, even Chen Feng felt pressured, a sensation from the legendary entities’ oppression!

This was an aura of catastrophe!

Chen Feng made the right wager. With the souls of tens of thousands of zombies, he finally summoned a legendary-level strong entity. Although the entity wasn’t his Summoned Beast, as long as the sacrifice was made, it could exert its power. To Chen Feng now, this was sufficient!

Chen Feng’s gaze was fixed on the stone coffin. In his curious gaze, the cover of the coffin fell off, revealing a figure entirely wrapped with bandages.

Meanwhile, a pungent odor penetrated into his nostrils, like something that had been left for decades or even longer, a slight movement raising countless dust.

Mummy.

Chen Feng’s pupils contracted. The entity was entirely wrapped in bandages, similar in height to himself, yet the energy hidden within was like the Dead Sea, utterly immeasurable.

This wasn’t a simple mummy, but a Demigod Mummy!

The Demigod Mummy appeared dry and withered, its whole body wrapped in ancient burial clothes. To protect its last territory, its movements were incredibly swift and efficient. Most Demigod Mummies carried emblems or idols that were very important to a demigod.

The Demigod Mummy was the mummy of a demigod after its death. These deities hadn’t entirely left their eternal realm.

At this moment, the chest of this Demigod Mummy bore a dagger with blood on it, perhaps its holy emblem when it created the church before its death!

Every god has a Divine Format. A god’s Divine Format determines how much power it possesses.

If a Divine Format equals 0.

Then this creature is often referred to as a Quasi-God or Heroic God. Spawn of mortals and gods fall into this category. These existences cannot bestow magic but remain immortal and generally have one or more attributes significantly higher than ordinary individuals of the same species. They may have some believers. Ordinary mortals do not have a 0 Divine Format. They are entirely devoid of a Divine Format.

Divine Format 1-5

These existences are known as demigods. They are the weakest gods. Demigods can grant magic and accomplish feats beyond mortal limits. Additionally, they might gain more esteem or respect. Demigods control a small Divine Kingdom (usually on an outer plane) and have slight control over one or several aspects of divine office concerning mortal existence. Demigods may excel in a single skill or a related group of skills, gaining battle advantages in special circumstances, or can bring minor changes to reality related to divine office.

Over long periods, even True Gods might fall, let alone demigods. For this holy emblem, Chen Feng had no impression. It was likely an ancient entity even in the Abyss.

In the river of history, this Demigod Mummy had also once been powerful, creating its own church, aspiring to become a True God. Yet things didn’t go as planned; perhaps it was ambushed by enemies, or its life span ran out, leading to its demise. Not only did the church dissolve, but it became a resident of the stone coffin.

The Demigod Mummy possesses the following specialties: Downward Slash, Combat Reflexes, Dodge, Expert, Strong Power Slash, Fortitude Enhancement, Improved Critical (Swing), Mastery in Disarming Weapons, Mastery in Initiative, Lightning Reflexes, Mobility, Mighty Attack, Strength, Weapon Focus (Swing)

Compared to Bone Dragons, the Demigod Mummy was much quieter, not making a sound even now. Yet Chen Feng could sense that beneath those burial clothes lurked a frightening power!

It excels in the Death Embrace. When wrapped by a Demigod Mummy’s burial cloth, even legendary entities rarely escape alive.

Compared to demigods of previous lives, the present Demigod Mummy achieved its wish for immortality. As undead beings, their personalities had long become twisted and irritable. No one knew what they were thinking. For this reason, almost no one would disturb these entities’ slumber in the Abyss’s grave.

Chen Feng did not attempt to communicate with them. As a representative of the silent faction, the Demigod Mummy’s principle was: act instead of talking whenever possible.

In simple terms, getting paid for work, and sleeping when there’s no task.

As for talking emotions with the undead?

Better save it!
