Chapter 611: Chapter 597: Unclaimed Plane

The air was thick with the scent of destruction.

The entire island was showing signs of an anomaly.

Chen Feng’s judgment was not wrong; this rift was the culprit responsible for the life-prohibiting zone surrounding it, devouring oxygen, absorbing souls, turning all the creatures who died due to lack of oxygen into its nourishment, fully consumed.

"This is..."

Chen Feng sensed danger and halted his advance.

"Exactly, much like the Insect Realm, this is also a dimension, but here, there is not a trace of vitality. This is...a desolate world, utterly devoid of life!"

Chen Feng hovered in mid-air, as the situation was far too strange and did not rashly enter the island. The All-Seeing Eye swirled in his gaze, and in an instant, he pierced through the rift and saw the scene inside.

A foggy world.

Everywhere were rocks and dust. This world was only half the size of the human world. What was horrifying was that the rivers had dried up, the trees were long decayed, and except for the dense white bones on the ground, there was no trace of life anywhere in the world.

It was a world without life!

At this moment, the world suddenly shook, akin to a solitary patient, who, after countless years of loneliness, finally encountered a visitor; the foggy sky revealed some sights!

A group of giants, five meters tall, knelt on the ground, surrounded by swirling yellow sand, with leaves slowly turning yellow. Though the world didn’t appear as decayed as it is now, it was like an aging elder on the verge of death.

Over thousands of giants knelt on the ground, seemingly worshipping something, while other giants brutally plunged weapons into their own chests, blood spattering, hearts dug out by their own hands.

"Great God, we sacrifice ourselves, offer our souls, beseech the Divine Power to save this soon-to-be-destroyed world!" All giants knelt, praying to the Divine Spirit.

But as days passed, months and years passed, the Divine Spirit they trusted did not descend any energy. This world was already sick beyond cure; plants no longer grew, rivers dried up, and as time dragged on, until the last giant died on the altar, all came to an end.

Volcanoes erupted, earthquakes were frequent, and every corner was ravaged by howling winds. In such an environment, this dimension had long become riddled with holes.

Chen Feng breathed heavily, cold sweat appearing on his spine. As a butcher, Chen Feng had witnessed death, but those killings and witnessing the destruction of a world were vastly different!

The creatures of a world, dying in despair, not thousands, not tens of thousands, but billions upon billions of souls perished in hopelessness.

World collapse was a situation humans could not reverse. In that illusion, Chen Feng even saw some beings above Legendary. Though they possessed the strength to move mountains and seas, they were powerless as ants under such disasters.

Perhaps only the Divine Spirit the giants mentioned could save this world, but until the world’s destruction, their faith’s deity never appeared.

Was the Divine Spirit abandoning the world? Or was it struggling to survive? This was an unfathomable truth.

As long as there is consciousness, there will be no satisfaction.

Animals fight, humans wage war; even among gods, there are struggles, with gods categorized into lower, middle, upper, and the legendary Supreme God tiers.

To become stronger, gods consume the divinity of opponents, until they are satisfied to strike for a higher level of divinity. To a god, the most important perhaps is the Power of Faith; a world worshipping them is a testament to how concentrated that faith would be!

Yet, even then, this god did not appear, leaving the world to perish. It’s likely that in some unknown year amid believers, their faith’s existence had been killed or suppressed.

Like a mirage, this world had just showcased a past scene to Chen Feng; those illusions were its reason for disappearance.

The air had no energy; life could not grow, not even river flows, turning to dead waters, with all fish and shrimp within perishing.

Compared to Nature’s power, unless becoming a Divine Spirit, there’s no leverage to confront it.

And this was Chen Feng’s realization from witnessing it all.

Besides these visuals, Chen Feng had another major discovery. This fallen dimension seemed to undergo some mutations, as though the Power of Origin was activated, beginning to devour surrounding oxygen and souls.

Oxygen provided the creatures within this world the need to survive, while the Power of the Soul endowed the land with new life.

It was like a Hungry Ghost, now consuming everything around, those forces of the soul reshaping the world; the soul of that giant whale landed on the ground, forming an area the size of a playground, and even amid terrifying winds, it could not breach the soul power to ravage this hard-won revived land.

With the souls consumed before, now, a region spanning up to 20 acres had been carved out within this dimension!

The soul blocked the rampaging winds; more astonishingly, oxygen appeared within that 20-acre environment.

Like a crystal ball with glass for defense, yet despite rain and storms outside, inside there was a small world of its own.

This demonstrates that as long as there is enough lifeforce offered to this world, the inner realm could truly be restored one day!

Complete dominance over a world?

Chen Feng breathed heavily. Until now, he realized the true preciousness of this dimension. If he could master this world, it would be akin to possessing a fortress!

Divine Spirits need endless Power of Faith; faced with this scenario, they would try every means to forge their own Divine Kingdom, where believers would find a world without worries and anguish, merely needing to worship to gain the strength desired.

Chen Feng’s strength was too low; he couldn’t think that far ahead. Compared to a supposed Divine Kingdom, he valued this world’s strategic significance.

Surrounding danger was everywhere; even Chen Feng couldn’t claim to rule the realm. Above legendary were the Epic, and beyond that Mythologies, not to mention ever-changing natural hazards. Though Order seemed powerful, it couldn’t disregard those lurking threats.

But if he had this dimension, facing an unbeatable enemy, Chen Feng could relocate the people of Order inside. No matter how fearsome the presence, breaking an entire world was eternal and divine-powers exclusive.

"Without entering the tiger’s den, how will you capture the tiger’s cub!"

Chen Feng thought clearly. Staying outside, he couldn’t explore this world’s secrets. If he wished for opportunity, he needed to personally venture into this dimension to see.

Luckily...

Inside wasn’t filled with destruction previously seen. Instead, due to devouring souls and oxygen, it fabricated an area suitable for human survival.

An unclaimed dimension was too enticing. After a moment’s thought, Chen Feng decided to personally descend and assess the situation. Before proceeding, he summoned the Undead Mage; if danger occurred, he would use the mage’s spatial powers to exit the dimension.

Prepared, Chen Feng hesitated no longer, charging forward and entering that barren dimension.

"Boom!"

Instantly, an endless tremor echoed around. The enormous force made Chen Feng feel as if he could be torn apart at any moment. He dared not hesitate, speeding toward his locked target!

The mist blocked surrounding winds yet didn’t stop Chen Feng’s entry. Instantly, he and the Undead Mage arrived at the land with oxygen.

The surrounding was saturated with a sea breeze’s aroma. Yes, indeed, this world had devoured surrounding oxygen, and as time was still young, even the scent of the seawater had not faded away.

Chen Feng stood before this pure land, closing his eyes, feeling like the world’s master, knowing besides the Undead Mage, he was the only living being in this world.

But now, Chen Feng couldn’t indulge in sentiment, as he had more crucial tasks, which was how to seize this unclaimed dimension?!
