Chapter 2846: Chapter 2847: The Eerie Dudou
The Poison Master who had originally planned to kill Bai Ruozhu hesitated. If he killed Bai Ruozhu and still couldn’t find the "Poison Classic", wouldn’t there be no one left who knew where it was hidden?
His worry was not unfounded. If Bai Ruozhu died now, her Space would go to a new owner, and everything inside would be taken away. As for where it would end up, no one knew, and the Poison Master would absolutely never get it.
He thought it over and decided to wake Bai Ruozhu first, then take advantage of her weakness to control her with poison and force her to say where the "Poison Classic" was hidden.
Unfortunately, after examining her for a long time, he realized Bai Ruozhu wasn’t poisoned at all, and he had no way to wake her.
Although unwilling, he still withdrew. He could only wait. After those people woke Bai Ruozhu, it wouldn’t be too late for him to make his move.
In any case, Bai Ruozhu now had half a foot in the grave; she would never escape the palm of his hand.
Not long after the Poison Master left, a small figure quietly slipped into Bai Ruozhu’s Room.
"Mom, wake up, Dengdeng is really scared. I don’t want Mom to die. My little brothers and I don’t want to be children without a mom." Dengdeng started sobbing, but he kept his voice low, afraid of waking Jiang Yichun on the couch on the other side.
He looked at his dad again, tears dripping down. He had to hurry up and grow up, so he could protect his parents and not let anyone bully them!
Suddenly, Little Dengdeng sniffed, then quickly walked toward the cabinet next to him.
He squatted down, eyes fixed on the cabinet door’s handle.
"There’s the smell of Poison." he muttered under his breath.
His mom used poison, but normally there was no poison on her hands. She didn’t like it, and she was afraid of getting it on her family.
But there was a faint trace of Poison here, the kind that lingered on the hands of someone who used poison for a long time, and those hands had touched the cabinet door, leaving these traces behind.
There was no way these traces had been left by his mom!
Little Dengdeng quickly wiped his tears. It had to be that strange Poison Master again!
His heart grew Nervous. What should he do? Had that man poisoned his parents?
Thinking of this, he hurried to check on Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun. He couldn’t really understand Bai Ruozhu’s condition. Even Chushuang was helpless, so what could a little Baby like him see?
But Jiang Yichun definitely was not poisoned. Little Dengdeng was very sure of that.
He pressed his lips together, his little Head spinning quickly.
He remembered that last time that man had said he wanted his mom to exchange the "Poison Classic". Could it be he’d come looking for the "Poison Classic"?
Obviously he hadn’t found it and didn’t want to alert them, so he wouldn’t casually use poison.
Thinking this, Little Dengdeng quickly ran out of the Room. He had to hurry and tell Grandpa and Grandma.
On the other side of the Yard, the Room where Zhu Ning was imprisoned was packed with ice, the temperature extremely low.
Gao Zhou stood to the side as guardian, while Chushuang had set up an Array. The power of the Array was slowly gathering and seeping into the red bellyband on Zhu Ning’s chest.
Chushuang was playing a Bamboo Flute, the sound very soft, but the melody winding, with an ancient and mysterious flavor.
They saw the red bellyband on Zhu Ning’s chest moving even more violently, as if struggling in pain.
After quite a while, Chushuang’s flute stopped. Her face was a bit pale as she put the flute away.
"It’s hard to remove. Let’s wait a bit longer and wear down its power first." she said tiredly.
Gao Zhou supported her. "You’re tired too, go get some rest."
Chushuang shook her head. "I have to watch here. Those two children suffered so much; I can’t relax."
"How could Zhu Ning be so vicious, using her own child’s soul to refine this kind of Evil Technique?" Gao Zhou said through clenched teeth.
"If she wants to resurrect You Meng with that child, she has to use this sort of Evil Technique. It looks like she gained power, but it’s clearly a Curse." Chushuang said.
It turned out Zhu Ning’s bellyband existed because, among the Barbarian Clan, she had used Evil Technique to refine her own child’s soul, letting You Meng’s soul enter the child’s body to be resurrected, while her own child was refined into this red bellyband.
And the Red Line on her hand when she fought Bai Ruozhu was also the Evil Technique of this bellyband.
Just then, there was a light knock at the door, and Little Dengdeng’s soft voice sounded: "Grandpa, Grandma, can I come in? I have something urgent to tell you."
Gao Zhou walked toward the Main Gate. "It’s too cold inside, don’t come in."
As the door was pushed open, the red bellyband on Zhu Ning’s chest suddenly thrashed wildly.
"Watch out!" Chushuang cried in alarm and flew forward to block, but that patch of red dodged around her, also around Gao Zhou, and in a whoosh it burrowed into Little Dengdeng’s clothes.
"How could this happen?" Gao Zhou hurriedly grabbed for Little Dengdeng’s clothes, only to see that shocking red bellyband already on Dengdeng’s body. The red was so eerie it made one’s heart tremble.
Chushuang rushed over, her eyes turning red. "It’s all my fault, all my fault!"
She had just spent half the day and still couldn’t make the bellyband leave Zhu Ning’s body, yet she hadn’t expected that the moment Little Dengdeng reached the door, the bellyband would just fly over!
Little Dengdeng was a bit scared and tugged hard at the bellyband’s ties. They looked like thin little strings, yet no matter how he pulled, he couldn’t tear them.
"Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, Grandpa and Grandma will definitely save you." Gao Zhou couldn’t stop his tears. His daughter-in-law hadn’t been awakened, and now his eldest grandson was caught by another thing. It was his incompetence!
Little Dengdeng, however, calmed down. "Grandpa, Grandma, don’t be Nervous. I’m fine."
"Really fine? No pain, no itch?" Chushuang asked. She examined him carefully. Although the red bellyband was bizarre, Little Dengdeng’s complexion was normal, and there was no Evil Aura on him.
"I don’t feel anything. Maybe it doesn’t like that bad woman and likes me better?" Little Dengdeng said, tilting his head.
That might be possible, but not worrying was impossible. Chushuang dispelled filth from Little Dengdeng and also put a protective Treasure against evil on him.
"You just said you had something urgent?" Gao Zhou remembered why Little Dengdeng had come.
"Grandpa, see if there’s anyone nearby." Little Dengdeng stepped over the threshold into the Room. "I don’t feel cold at all."
Gao Zhou checked. "No one. Let’s talk and then go out."
Over by the bed, Zhu Ning had already turned into a pile of white bones. Just a moment ago she’d been merely unconscious, yet now she’d become a skeleton, with all flesh and blood gone. The scene was too eerie.
"Just now when I went to see Mom and Dad, I found that Poison Master had gone into their Room to look for something. He must be looking for the ’Poison Classic’ he talked about." Little Dengdeng said in a low voice.
Gao Zhou and Chushuang’s faces changed drastically. This truly was a troubled time—one wave had yet to settle, and another had risen. That Poison Master had actually slipped in again.
"Are your mom and dad all right?" Chushuang asked anxiously.
"They’re fine. He didn’t find anything. That’s what’s called leaving them alive, right? Should we catch him again?" Little Dengdeng asked.
"Leave this to Grandpa and Grandma. You must not confront him. If anything happens again, how could I face your mom and dad?" Gao Zhou said quickly.
Right now he was very distressed. He didn’t even have the face to explain the bellyband matter to his son and daughter-in-law.
"I’m already an adult. I want to protect Mom and Dad!" Little Dengdeng said earnestly.
