Chapter 2801: Chapter 2802: The Method of Raising Two Poisonous Insects

"Chenfeng!" Lanlan was about to rush over, but Gufeng grabbed her in one go. "If you don’t want to be eaten by his snake, then behave."

The snake head suddenly lunged over, opening its bloody maw toward her. Its sharp fangs gleamed with a cold light, scaring her into stumbling back two steps and falling to the ground.

Thankfully it wasn’t long enough; the snake head couldn’t reach her. It hissed angrily, then retracted back and locked in place.

Lanlan, still shaken, stared at Chenfeng, calling his name over and over, but unfortunately Chenfeng didn’t wake up.

"What did you do to him?" Lanlan cried as she looked at Gufeng. "Why aren’t you dead yet? Trash like you is a disaster just by existing!"

"Good people die young, scourges live a thousand years." Gufeng laughed loudly as he spoke. "You really thought that just because you hid here I’d have no way? It was only ever a matter of time. As for your man, did I ever agree to let you marry? My good daughter?"

Lanlan’s little face flushed red with anger. "Who’s your daughter? You’re my father’s murderer. You think I don’t know anything?"

"So what?" Gufeng grabbed her shoulder in one hand and pinched her chin with the other. "You have the Phoenix Poisonous Insect in your body. It’s a pair with the Fen Gu. You can only sleep with someone who has the Fen Gu. Otherwise, he can only be your supplement—dead in one night."

He burst into crazed laughter. "So today you have to become my bride. I raised you just for this day. When the Phoenix Poisonous Insect and the Fen Gu join, that’s the day they truly mature."

So the Phoenix Poisonous Insect and the Fen Gu had to be refined like this to truly be completed!

Pervert, what a total pervert!

"Let go of me, you pervert. I’d rather die than let you touch me!" Lanlan said, about to bite her tongue, when her eyes suddenly lit up. No, Gufeng’s words couldn’t be trusted! Sister Ruozhu had told her: in a crisis, stay calm first, don’t rush to seek death—living once isn’t easy.

"Since marrying Chenfeng will kill him, wouldn’t it be better for you to wait until after our wedding and sit back to reap the benefit? By then I’ll be emotionally shattered, and won’t I be even easier for you to control?" she asked.

Gufeng’s face was hidden under his hood, so she couldn’t see his expression. Even if his face was exposed, it would be crawling with bugs, making it impossible to read any change of emotion.

"Trying to pry information out of me? I might as well tell you: for the Fen Gu and Phoenix Poisonous Insect to mature, they still need to be nourished with virgin blood. Otherwise why didn’t I use your mother back then to raise the Phoenix Poisonous Insect?" Gufeng said. "As for that monster you picked up, if I don’t torture him, would you willingly give yourself to me?"

"You... despicable, shameless!" Lanlan gnashed her teeth, unable to think of any worse curse.

"And don’t count on them coming to save you. This place is outside the Jiuli Barrier. They’ll never think to look here." After Gufeng finished, he laughed again. He lifted his hand, and a plump Poisonous Insect dropped to the ground, crawling toward Chenfeng in the distance. Don’t be fooled by how fierce Chenfeng’s snake arm looked; once it saw the Poisonous Insect, it revealed a look of fear and shrank back behind Chenfeng.

"Stop!" Lanlan shouted angrily. She hadn’t learned much, but she did understand how to raise Poisonous Insects and recognized that one as a Golden Silkworm Poisonous Insect—an upper-tier existence among Poisonous Insects. Once it entered Chenfeng’s body, it wouldn’t even take a quarter of an hour to eat up all of his internal organs, killing him in agonizing pain.

Gufeng yanked at Lanlan’s collar with one hand. On his exposed fingers bugs were constantly crawling. "If you don’t want him to die, then be a good girl and have sex with me. Once the Fen Gu and Phoenix Poisonous Insect are raised, I’ll take them out and naturally I’ll let you go."

He laughed darkly. "Don’t worry, I always keep my word. After all, a hundred days’ grace for a one-day couple, right?"

Lanlan’s face burned red with rage. She looked in torment at the Golden Silkworm Poisonous Insect that had already crawled near Chenfeng’s nostrils, and her heart clenched tight.

"Let him go, then I’ll believe you. Otherwise I’ll just die right now. If we can’t be together in life, then at least we can die together. I’m guessing if I die, the Phoenix Poisonous Insect will be ruined too, right?" she said through gritted teeth.

"You’re threatening me?" Gufeng was angered; the only pair of eyes visible turned a dark red.

Lanlan wasn’t afraid. At worst it was just death. If she wasn’t even afraid of dying, what else was there to fear?

"You can go ahead and try. Living like this doesn’t mean much to me anyway. You think I’m stupid? If you take the Phoenix Poisonous Insect out of me, can I still live?"

"You only know if you try." The Poisonous Insect man looked at Chenfeng, killing intent flashing in his eyes, but he turned to Lanlan and said, "Fine, I’ll let him go now. But if you try to kill yourself halfway, I still have ways to drag him back."

"Good, it’s a deal. Send him back inside the Jiuli Barrier. Once he wakes up he still won’t be able to find this place. From now on I don’t want to see him again either." As Lanlan spoke, tears were already streaming down her face.

Gufeng laughed wildly. "Fine, it’s a deal."

He shook his cloak, and a pile of bugs fell to the ground, crawling toward Chenfeng. Very quickly they bit through the rope binding Chenfeng, then lifted the unconscious Chenfeng and carried him away.

"How do I know you actually send him back? I have to see him return to somewhere safe inside the Barrier before I’ll agree to your terms," Lanlan added.

"Lanlan, don’t push your luck!" Gufeng was furious.

"Then I’ll die with him right now. I’ve studied raising Poisonous Insects under you for so many years. Killing myself isn’t hard." As she spoke, her fingertip extended, revealing a tiny red bug, but it wasn’t the Phoenix Poisonous Insect.

Gufeng gave a cold snort and yanked up her collar. "I’ll take you to see for yourself right now. But don’t you dare try any tricks, or even if you die, I won’t let your corpse off!"

Lanlan shivered involuntarily. This man was a lunatic, a pervert, the most terrifying person she had seen in her entire life!

The two of them followed the bugs out, and soon they reached the edge of the Jiuli Barrier. The bugs easily carried Chenfeng inside; to them, the Barrier seemed to not exist at all.

Lanlan was extremely surprised and couldn’t help asking, "How did you do that?"

Gufeng gave a disdainful laugh. "Poisonous Insects raised inside the Barrier are naturally recognized by it. How hard can going in and out be?"

"How could you possibly raise Poisonous Insects inside the Barrier?" Lanlan cried out in shock.

"I hid them there before I left the Jiuli Clan. You think I’m the kind of person who doesn’t leave himself a way out? Otherwise I wouldn’t still be alive today." Gufeng laughed wildly, full of arrogance.

After he spoke, he grabbed Lanlan and walked back toward the cave.

Lanlan glanced back at the Barrier. All her last hopes were inside it. She hoped Chenfeng would be safe, and also hoped Bai Ruozhu and the others would see the little Poisonous Insect she had sent back.

She had made so many demands, then backed down so quickly, because she had planned it all out. Otherwise, just like the Poisonous Insect man said, Bai Ruozhu and the others might never think they had to go outside the Barrier.

On the other side, Quanxin searched nearby until it had no strength left and whooshed back into the Space.

"I can’t. I only feel it’s around here, but then I can’t sense it anymore. I can’t hold on. If I go out again, I’ll disperse," it said.

Bai Ruozhu was burning with anxiety. "There’s really no other way?"

"You guys look around nearby. It shouldn’t be far." After Quanxin finished speaking, it sank into the Hot Spring, merging with the Hot Spring Water.
