Chapter 1253: Chapter 1254: Frightened to the Core (For Bookworm’s Brother Alliance)

"If you keep burning yourself like this, you won’t even need it to make a move—you’ll end up sacrificing yourself."

Crackle, crackle.

Amid the crisscrossing of light and darkness, Green appeared beside the Demon Doll. Seeing the Demon Doll, who in such a short span had repeatedly unleashed power beyond its own limits and already lost a good portion of the flesh of its legs, Green spoke in a low growl.

"Get lost, I don’t need you meddling!"

The Demon Doll roared in furious rebuke, its voice hoarse and shrill, violently irritable, overflowing with endless hatred.

"From the day I was thrown into the Ashen World, I swore I would never again allow anyone to dare ignore my existence. No one has ever treated me like this—never!"

With a heaven-shaking, earth-shattering bellow of rage, a chunk of flesh gathered at the tip of the Demon Doll’s index finger from the remaining half of its body beneath its feet. This piece of flesh seemed to nurture endless mysteries. Once wrapped by a wisp of aura from the other half of its ash-phantom body that had just been manifested, it underwent a strange transformation.

Just a tiny, seemingly insignificant piece of flesh actually tore open a rift connected to the Ash Phantom World. Immediately after, the attack whose peak fluctuation Green had previously sensed to be in the range of 1.5 million to 2.5 million degrees suddenly surged to beyond four million degrees—and was accompanied by a true Ash Phantom phenomenon!

It was precisely with the reinforcement of these Ash Phantom phenomena that, while the Four Sovereigns Slash was fending off the exiles’ frenzied, all-out assaults that blotted out the sky, it was simultaneously dealing with the Demon Doll and actually showed a disadvantage, being continuously suppressed—utterly unbelievable.

Green’s attempt to persuade the Demon Doll was by no means some sudden onset of kindness.

On the one hand, Green had already prepared to open the coffin with the Scepter of Hope and engage in a frontal one-against-three battle. In fact, everything was ready; only the last few thousand years of illusory time were needed to be consumed for attuning to Annihilation.

Everything was directed at this goal—he hoped to suppress the Demon Doll that he had always regarded as his true opponent, to prove the success he held in his heart.

On the other hand, deep down Green faintly hoped to leave by ascending the coffin, thereby giving this Demon Doll, who had guarded the Coffin of Hope for ages, a chance to return to the Material World.

If such a powerful, non–Dominator Level lifeform were to suddenly appear in the Material World, it would certainly make things far more rich and interesting!

Lastly, it was because Green could no longer suppress within himself that urge—that desire to step forward and attempt to seize the Soul of the Dominator.

If he could obtain the Soul of the Dominator, then within the Endless World, or even among Dominators themselves, it would be the true universal currency!

No matter when, no matter what kind of rule-bound world, no matter who the trading partner is, as long as you possess a Soul of the Dominator, you possess everything.

Though, it was almost unheard of for anyone to actually use such a thing in trade.

Compared to a Soul of the Dominator, the Philosopher’s Stone refined by the Cleansing Crystal Terminator was not even worth mentioning!

For Green at this moment, aside from enabling him to free himself from the shackles of the Dimensional Esophagus at any time, the Soul of the Dominator could also extend Green’s life limit, which amounted to indirectly lengthening the time for Green as a Stigma Sorcerer to attune to Annihilation, thereby enhancing Green’s absolute Strength.

The Omnipotent Soul had myriad uses, beyond imagination. It was one of the origin powers of the Endless Dominators.

"Get the hell away from me!"

The Four Sovereigns Slash was on the verge of madness. These exiles of the deepest Illusory World, who were hurling themselves at it regardless of everything, wave after wave, were like lunatics following an instinct to hunt. They simply did not care about their own lives. Their sole purpose was the Omnipotent Soul fused as one within its body. They would never turn back without their goal achieved, like a pack of starving Blood Ghosts driven insane. Their ferocity was utterly shocking. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

What made the Four Sovereigns Slash feel even more incredulous was that the exiles here possessed Strength beyond imagination. They were nothing like the World Masters he understood—this was a horde of monsters!

And among these monsters, some had even reached an almost deranged level, especially that Devil Doll surrounded by light-and-dark halos with only half a body remaining.

With a brief eruption of power, a gust of force burst from within its body. Straining with all its might, it flung its colossal head, shaking off a portion of the exiles who were inflicting continuous damage on it. The Four Sovereigns Slash’s blood-drenched head rapidly recovered under the repair of the Omnipotent Soul.

Its blade-arm flashed, blocking the Demon Doll’s pillar of ash-light attack. Feeling the Omnipotent Soul within its body rapidly draining away, and seeing yet another swarm of exiled monsters hurling themselves at it without regard for their lives, the Four Sovereigns Slash Monarch felt an incomparable chill.

Slaughtering one wave changed nothing at all. It had none of the deterrent effect it would have in the Material World!

And these exiles were true powerhouses among Level Six Creatures, not those Lower Beings whose numbers were meaningless. Even if it struck with all its might, it could not guarantee a kill.

"Damn it, where is that Chrono Tree that stole my mi-soil!?"

Temporarily forced into a passive defense against the Demon Doll’s attacks, having now experienced the terror of the Dimensional Dimension edge’s deep Illusory World—so often described by other Dominators—the Four Sovereigns Slash felt a desire to retreat. This place was absolutely not somewhere normal lifeforms should remain, not even Endless Dominators!

Its numerous compound eyes scanned through the aftermath of battles raging among the exiles that filled the sky and earth. From time to time, exiles were struck by its blade-lights from those compound eyes. Finally, on the shattered land paved with uncountable bones, amidst densely packed craters, it located the Chrono Tree.

At this moment, on the wrinkled bark of this old tree, that aged face was tilted upward, likewise suffused with terror.

Though it had long heard that within the deepest layer of the Illusory World there existed a realm filled with unimaginable terrifying monsters, it had never imagined that these terrifying monsters would actually dare to tirelessly assault a Dominator, fully intent on tearing this Dominator to pieces. Dozens of powerful beings had already been slain by the Dominator, and yet they showed no sign of awareness or fear. This was a true Endless Dominator!

For the sake of escaping with its life, it had actually fled into such a horrifying place—was this right or wrong?

Buzz!

Just then, the Chrono Tree suddenly sensed something. In its horror, among the coiled roots beneath it, clumps of five-colored soil rolled into view. They looked like beautiful colored sand, yet seemed capable of communing with a rare rhythm of earth rules. This mi-soil amplified and strengthened the Chrono Tree, actually granting it an effect akin to reversing age. Its wrinkled bark visibly smoothed and regained a fresh, youthful luster.

This was all because the Four Sovereigns Slash, having consumed a vast amount of Omnipotent Soul and having grown intent on retreat, had decided that even if it could not reclaim the mi-soil, it would destroy the Chrono Tree that had caused it to fall into such a predicament.

"I told you before!"

Suddenly, a small, inconspicuous figure appeared atop the Chrono Tree. From the half of its body patched by ash rules, a pure black, seemingly insignificant little hand stretched out.

"This old tree belongs to us—and you are going to stay in the Dimensional Esophagus forever!"
