Chapter 581: Back With A Vengeance
The binds that Yona and the Harvest Goddess used to restrain and stop the impostor Julia were easily destroyed in just a single flick of her hand. She is showing a godly aura that is impossible for a human to get.
"What are you doing now, Julia?!" Yona frowned with a grit in her teeth.
The Harvest Goddess shook her head. "No, that is an impostor. That’s not Julia."
Julia? heard the Harvest Goddess and started laughing loudly. "HAHAHAHA! Oh my! I didn’t expect a lesser goddess to be present here. My sister really did make a lot of big shots her friends, eh? Sadly, this isn’t enough to stop me."
In one swift move, all of the bindings that are currently stopping her are cut to pieces. Touching her face, Julia? grins. "Looks like this disguise is no longer necessary then!"
Moving her palm through her face, the previous face of Julia fades away and is replaced by a familiar-looking face. Someone who plagues Elaina and everyone else.
"It’s been a long time, humans."
The Harvest Goddess is angry, visibly frowning at the sight of someone who made some trouble for them in the past.
"I knew it, you are Selena, Elaina’s sister. So you are still alive..." The Harvest Goddess is ready to brawl with Selena, but Yona is stopping her from recklessly charging forward.
Selena condescendingly glanced at Elaina, gasping as she held her chest, bleeding badly. "Still serving my Sister, eh? For a goddess, you looked like you barely amounted to anything. You don’t even feel equal to me, who is just a demi-god. Still, looking at how useless you are, it is only the right thing to pair you with my sister, who is also a useless woman. You two are a good pair, I must say!"
"Don’t let her agitate and get taunted by her words. We should send her away and tend to Elaina and Adelaide," Yona continues to prevent the Harvest Goddess.
"Don’t stop me, Yona! She stabbed her own sister, and now you expect me to be merciful and just let this matter slide?! I am not as merciful as the Farmer!" The Harvest Goddess remotely controlled her powers, and multiple vines started attacking Selena.
Of course, Selena easily blocked them, rendering the attacks useless.
"Useless. Just like the Farmer here on the ground," Selena tried stepping on Elaina, but Arthur blocked her, shielding Elaina.
"Don’t you dare hurt my Mother any further!" Arthur is not afraid of the woman before him, but considering he is still a kid, facing a demi-god is something he couldn’t easily deal with.
"Move, brat. If you don’t want to die."
"Try me! I don’t care if you are the sister of my Mother; you are not gonna pass through me!" Arthur resolutely tried his best to keep the woman away from Elaina.
"If that is the case, then die."
In one swift kick, Arthur is sent flying and ends up splashing into the fishing area where Elaina usually fishes every afternoon. Layla, who saw this, quickly jumped into the water to rescue the injured and unconscious Arthur.
Seeing that Arthur was sent flying, Shardu decided to use his awakening to deal with Selena, while Zaza charges forward, trying to attack Selena.
Unfortunately, Zaza barely has any way or power that can be comparable and possibly counter against Selena. In his first charge, the woman quickly dodged like it was nothing. Not only that, but she is dodging his attacks while also blocking and single-handedly removing all of the possible things that would stop her. Attacking proved worthless as the woman immediately grabbed him by the neck when he didn’t expect it before slamming him to the wall of the farmhouse.
Seeing Zaza is out of commission, Shardu took advantage of the chaos and attacked Selena with multiple range attacks made of flames to shoot out of Shardu’s mouth. But Selena, who previously stopped the Harvest Goddess’s attacks, doesn’t even need to reinforce her defenses. Before Shardu could react, a heavy pressure suddenly weighed his body, restraining him completely. As much as Shardu wanted to escape and fight back, Shardu is even having a hard time moving.
"Now then, time to finish this task, and with this, the remaining nuisance in my life will disappear."
Selena stands in front of Elaina and is about to stomp her face when a dagger suddenly passes through her cheek. Although it started bleeding afterwards, it didn’t last long, as the wound it created closed on its own and the blood that flowed out of her cheek returned as time rewound itself. She stopped attacking Elaina and turned to look in the direction where it came from.
Not too far from them is Alfred, who is currently holding Adelaide in his hands. The young girl is currently unconscious.
"Leave, Selena, or else I might have to kill you." Alfred is already overflowing with bloodlust, ready to attack and kill Selena if necessary as he controls the dagger that he had thrown earlier and has it return to his hands.
"Oh? If it isn’t the Emperor himself. I didn’t realize you would be here, defending your ex-wife now. Didn’t you cheat on her and leave her on her own devices?" Selena smiled, but a mocking smile at that.
"Yeah, I did. Thanks to a certain b*tch who is currently standing right in front of me," Alfred mocked Selena.
"Ouch, I am hurt by your words, Alfred, my dear. Aren’t you forgetting the experiences and all of the nights we spent together?" Selena made a single step, and the dagger that Alfred retrieved landed exactly a few centimeters away from Selena’s shoes.
"Oh, I do remember them. And I wish I didn’t. If not for you, my family wouldn’t be this strained to the point that even Elaina suffered from my absence. You are the reason my family is broken right now. And you better stop moving; one step, and I will make sure the dagger will no longer land on either the wall or the floor this time around. I will make sure this knife will dig through that skull of yours."
"My, how confident. My husband," Selena seemed to cast a spell from those words as Alfred staggered for a bit with his hands on his forehead.
"You piece of sh*t! Don’t you dare!" At first, the power worked, but Alfred quickly snapped out of it and had the brainwashing she was trying to cast nullified.
Selena was momentarily surprised, but she didn’t dwell on it, nor was she frustrated; instead, she smiled.
"My, my. Have you already gained resistance to my love, eh? But isn’t it too late for you to develop that when your whole life is broken?"
Alfred put Adelaide slowly on the side, making sure she wasn’t injured any further.
"I don’t plan to fix anything broken now, but at the very least, I can salvage what was left behind."
While Alfred and Selena were talking, Yona quickly took advantage of the situation and grabbed Elaina’s body and teleported a good distance away from her. Without anyone to worry about, the Harvest Goddess took advantage of this and attacked Selena, who was busy talking with Alfred.
But...
PENG PENG PENG!
All of the Harvest Goddess’s attacks got deflected before she could do anything. It’s not even working well.
"Didn’t anyone tell you that interrupting someone talking to other people is not a good thing? You really wanna die that badly?!"
Selena raised her hand and grasped something in the air. At the same time, the moment Selena gestured, the Harvest Goddess felt a tight sensation on her neck right now. It’s like something is currently choking her with an invisible hand. The worst thing is... the Harvest Goddess was affected by it.
"You better learn to respect others. No wonder you are almost dead before my Sister even helped you. Without her, you will soon die. Best make sure to enjoy your final days."
The Harvest Goddess is already struggling in the air. But this is a good opportunity for Alfred. With quick movements, Alfred closed the gap between him and Selena. He quickly pulled out the knife beforehand and plunged it straight into Selena’s back, just like what she did to Elaina.
However, things are not always working in their favor.
CRACK!
The dagger that Alfred was about to use to attack Selena didn’t go in. Instead, it cracked and snapped into two. Before Alfred could react, Selena grabbed his neck and squeezed it hard, causing him to begin choking.
"Alfred, Alfred, Alfred. I don’t know if you are a fool or not, but perhaps you should not have decided to defy me. After all, you are still my dear husband...yes?"
He can barely move. The strength that Selena is showing and performing right now is not like from a human.
"I must apologize for this, dear husband. But since you still prefer your ex-wife instead of me, who is your current wife, perhaps...it is best to get rid of you? If I can’t get you back with me, then is it possible to just offer yourself to me?"
