Chapter 2001: Chapter 481: Life and Death, Reaping What You Sow (Part 4)

Zhang Huasheng took out a gray porcelain bottle from his arms, "This is Rejuvenating Jade Ointment. Apply this evenly onto the wounds on your face, and within ten days, your face will heal completely. Not only will there be no scars, but your skin will be smoother and fairer than before. However..."

Gan Wei’er was overjoyed to hear the initial part, but upon hearing however, her heart skipped a beat and she reflexively asked, "However what?"

"One ingredient of this ointment is wormwood poison, which is highly toxic. Though it has miraculous effects of regenerating injured tissue, given its toxicity, it comes with some side effects. When it contacts the skin, the poison will erode into your skin. Initially, it’s unbearably painful, emitting a foul stench. The principle of destruction before reconstruction is at play here. After ten days, I guarantee the scars on your face will disappear, even cleaner and fairer than before."

Gan Wei’er jumped in fright upon hearing about the side effects, but for beauty, a woman can endure any hardship. Clenching her teeth, she grasped the bottle tightly in her hand, "Thank you, God Doctor Grandpa."

Seeing the young girl delightfully leave with the bottle in her hands, Zhang Huasheng’s eyebrows slightly raised, with a wicked gleam in his eyes.

Gan Wei’er returned to her room, impatiently opened the bottle, and immediately a foul stench emanated, like the smell of a decomposing corpse, nearly causing her to vomit up yesterday’s meal.

"Oh my, how can it be so smelly." She quickly covered her nose and put the stopper back in.

The air instantly cleared up, and she took a deep breath.

Pondering over it, against all odds, she decided to overcome any difficulties for beauty’s sake.

Stuffing paper into her nostrils, Gan Wei’er opened the bottle again. The ointment was a gray-green, resembling the moldy green color of stinky tofu, truly an eyesore.

Gan Wei’er endured her nausea and smeared a bit onto the wound on her face. Initially, it felt cool and comforting, making her wonder if the God Doctor Grandpa was deceiving her, as there was no pain at all. Enjoying the feeling, she applied it all over her face. In the mirror, her face was entirely covered with the gray-green ointment, leaving only her eyes and mouth exposed, looking rather horrifying.

But soon, her smile vanished, as a sharp, needle-like pain started prickling her face, initially overlooked, but quickly escalating into a sensation like thousands of ants gnawing, biting, and tearing, causing intense pain and itchiness. She clutched her face, rolling on the ground, unable to voice her agony, wishing she could instantly pass out.

Gan Wei’er writhed in pain, emitting sharp cries. Ah Hua heard the sounds, pushed the door open, and watching Gan Wei’er writhing on the ground with a gray-green face, he was shocked.

"Go...call the Divine Doctor..." Gan Wei’er forced the words from her throat, her eyes blood-red and fierce.

Ah Hua hurried out, finding Zhang Huasheng standing at the entrance, hands clasped behind him, with a smug grin as he walked in.

Gan Wei’er struggled to crawl to his feet, her blood vessels bulging on the back of her hand, clutching Zhang Huasheng’s pant leg, with a trembling voice she said, "Divine Doctor...save...save me...it hurts...."

Zhang Huasheng sighed, looking at her with pity: "Miss Weiwei, I mentioned before, this ointment has side effects, you will endure pain unbearable for most. Beauty comes at a price, but if you persevere, you’ll have the best skin. If you stop now, the wormwood poison will invade your skin, causing blood blisters all over your face, with pain and itchiness, and no cure available."

Gan Wei’er sobbed from the pain, regretting so much that she’d rather face disfigurement than endure such suffering, but now it’s too late. Quickly, a new wave of itching-pain arrived, her rationality completely collapsing under this overwhelming agony.

Anyway, after this ordeal, she’d either die or shed a layer of skin.

Zhang Huasheng watched coldly, with not a trace of pity in his eyes, only deep derision and disdain.

Reaping what one sows!

The subtle pain in her lower abdomen woke Yun Ya, she stared blankly at the ceiling, the vivid memories of her dream lingering.

After a while had passed, she licked her dried lips, half-raised herself out of bed, just reaching for the cup on the bedside table. Her wrist slackened, the cup suddenly fell to the ground, the sound exceptionally clear.

Soon, Xiao Nan, hearing the commotion, tentatively knocked on the door.

The girl’s hoarse voice softly came through, "Come in."

Xiao Nan opened the door and entered, seeing Yun Ya propped up, the cup smashed on the ground. He hurriedly stepped forward, pouring a fresh cup of hot tea and handing it to Yun Ya. Yun Ya took big swallows, her pale brows hiding a trace of grief, truly evoking pity.
