Chapter 1930: Chapter 472: Taking Their Place, Letting It Go_2
"No... this isn’t true." Gunara said, her face pale and incredulous.
This absolutely cannot be true, how could her son possibly be dead?
The Queen slowly opened her eyes, a faint, elusive smile appearing at the corner of her mouth, "Amitabha, peace be with thee."
Gunara instantly looked at her, a flash of ferocity in her eyes, "It was you, wasn’t it? You harmed my son, I’ll fight you to the death."
Gunara suddenly charged at the Queen like a mad beast, eager to tear a piece of flesh from the Queen’s body. At that moment, a figure suddenly rushed out from the side, standing in front of the Queen, and with a swift kick, sent Gunara flying. Gunara let out an "ouch," nearly fainting from the pain.
The Queen slowly got up, and Treasure Bead quickly withdrew her hand and went over to support the Queen.
The Queen glared coldly at Gunara: "You think you can fight with me? You’re still too inexperienced."
Her words fell with a cold snort, and she flicked her sleeves and left.
"Ahhh...." Gunara screamed like a madwoman, and everyone around her ran away in fright.
"You killed my son, I won’t let you off easily."
——
"I let you flaunt your power in my presence, now it’s time for your retribution." The Queen said coldly as she walked swiftly.
Then she sighed. Despite causing Gunara’s demise, she felt no pleasure in revenge. The pain of losing her beloved son was known only to her.
But Gunara had always opposed her, and she deserved this fate.
Gunara used to be her maid, seducing the King behind her back, even attempting to replace her. She could tolerate the King having other women but could not endure betrayal from someone so close.
"Congratulations, Queen, your wishes have come true." Treasure Bead said with a smile.
The Queen glanced at her: "This method of borrowing a knife to kill is quite clever; the King can’t blame me no matter what."
"Next, the Queen only needs to persuade the King not to let the matter of the Prince’s death go unpunished."
The Queen furrowed her brow: "But the King’s disposition..." too weak, otherwise why did he dare not even utter a word when her son died.
"The Queen must not forget, no matter how soft the King is, he is still the King of a country, and more importantly, a father."
The Queen slowly nodded: "I understand. Help me convey to her not to forget our agreement."
Treasure Bead slowly curved her mouth into a smile: "Rest assured, Queen, I will certainly help you convey the message."
——
Yun Ya asked: "What did Young Master Lorde say?"
Xiao Nan was confused; what Young Master Lorde?
Yun Ya frowned slightly: "I asked you yesterday to tell Young Master Lorde that I will invite him for a meal today."
Xiao Nan suddenly realized it was something she had forgotten, but she had indeed forgotten.
Seeing her expression, Yun Ya knew she had forgotten, and seeing Xiao Nan kneeling on the ground in trepidation, Yun Ya waved her hand; "Forget it, I won’t blame you, I’ll go to him myself."
Xiao Nan was relieved that the Princess did not blame her and immediately got up to assist Yun Ya in getting dressed. Yun Ya dismissed the ornate long dresses and chose a knee-length sky-blue dress. Her long hair was tied in a ponytail; her features were like a painting, fresh and neat.
As Yun Ya just stepped out the door, she saw Butler Ziyu standing at the entrance. Seeing her coming out, he greeted her with a smile: "Where is the Princess planning to go?"
"Do I have to inform you wherever I go?" Yun Ya replied with a gentle smile, showing no sign of temper.
Butler Ziyu dared not be presumptuous and smiled: "Of course not, this is the Princess’s home, the Princess can go wherever she likes. However, it’s quite chaotic outside today, the Princess should rest in her room to avoid any commotion."
Yun Ya raised an eyebrow, sensing that something had happened.
"Is that so? Then I’ll take your advice and return to my room to rest." Yun Ya smiled as she turned back to the room.
Is this a way to confine her?
Initially thinking it would take a lot of work, unexpectedly she compromised so easily. Butler Ziyu frowned; since when did the Princess become so agreeable?
Thinking about the tasks ahead, leaving people to guard the Princess’s door, glancing at Wu Hen standing like a guardian deity at the door, he turned and left.
Meals were delivered thrice daily, but Yun Ya was prohibited from leaving the room. Yun Ya asked Xiao Nan to find out what was happening outside, and Xiao Nan went out for quite a while.
It turned out Prince Agunara was dead, and Lorde was the prime suspect.
Yun Ya couldn’t help but laugh, "The two fought over me the night before last; do you think people outside will claim I’m a femme fatale?"
That lustful-eyed prince deserves to be dead.
However, Agunara’s death is certainly more than meets the eye; she doesn’t believe Lorde killed him. Lorde wouldn’t be so foolish to act directly; it might be a case of the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind.
