Chapter 129: FUCK OFF

Somehow, Caiden's comment made Zuri laughed. She looked at the gamma gleefully and wiped her tears. "I like that." She sniffled.

"Good. We can get Gayle to kidnap him." Caiden was sure the warrior wouldn't be thrilled with the idea, but he was glad that Zuri looked more in control over herself. "Come on, Khaos wanted you to be in the fortress."

Zuri wiped her face again, pulling her hair, making sure that she looked presentable and then followed Caiden.

On their way to the fortress, Caiden couldn't help but asked her out of curiosity. "What did he say to you? You look very upset."

The gamma had to admit, he couldn't dislike Zuri. She had been wronged her whole life and it would be hard to learn that your own brother, who you thought was someone that could rely on, actually someone that had used you since the beginning and put you through something unimaginable.

"He asked me to agree to inflict more curses, so the beauty blood can be completed soon."

"Oh." Caiden didn't know what to say about that. He would rather let Khaos dealt with it, because in one side, he knew it was necessary for them to complete the beauty blood, but if Rhett could see how Khaos acted differently toward Zuri, Caiden obviously could tell the same thing too.

Khaos had been interested with Zuri even before he knew that she was the shell.

And now, Caiden was well aware how complicated the situation would be and why Khaos wanted to buy some time in order not to inflict the curses on Zuri in such short interval from the last time they inflicted the curses.

"I don't mind with the curses... it's not like I remembered what happened, since they erased my memories afterward, but... I felt betrayed." Zuri furrowed her brows. "It's irony... since I betrayed my own father and Xaden. Probably, it's a karma." She echoed the same thing that voices in her head had been telling her.

"Nonsense." Caiden stretched his body. "What kind of karma that messed up with the timeline. Your brother betrayed you first for years."

Zuri didn't say anything.

"What? The voices in your head telling you something?" Caiden just recently learned about this from Gayle, since Zuri spent quite some time with the warriors and he had seen how she would have a breakdown a few times.

Zuri raised her head, she looked uncomfortable, but she didn't say anything. Initially, she wanted to ask him if he thought she was crazy, but she didn't want to hear the answer.

"Tell the voices in your head to fuck off." Caiden grinned.

Seeing him reacted to this casually made Zuri felt relief. She felt a brick that pressed her chest disappeared. The thought that Caiden didn't see her weirdly was enough to make her happy.

And right at that time, Khaos approached them with Gayle. He saw the smile on Zuri and Caiden's face.

"Did I miss something?" Khaos asked, he opened his arms when Zuri rushed toward him and hugged him. She squeezed his body and kissed his chest.

Gayle gave Caiden a questioning look, he didn't expect Zuri would be calm enough when he reached her with the alpha.

"What do you mean?!" Dacre slammed his fist against the table, which left a dent on the surface. He was furious to learn about what happened.

This morning, the royal warriors were supposed to attack the River Creek pack, but something happened and they had to postpone the attack.

They couldn't attack a long entourage of hundred thousand of people, who marched toward the River Creek pack to get food supplies during the winter.

Because of the failed delivery of food supplies that the royal provided, the food became a rarity for the people, especially those without privilege. It was in the middle of the winter and their food supplies had depleted significantly without any sign to replenish it.

Of course, it became a growing problem, but because Dacre's focus was on Khaos and the River Creek pack, he overlooked how serious this problem was and now, Khaos used this to go against him.

"How could hundred of thousand people march toward the River Creek pack without anyone knowing it?! Why nobody reported such massive movement?! How could they intervene with the attack?!" Dacre was in disbelief.

The original idea to use the people to strengthen the fortress was from Zuri, she knew that the royal warrior wouldn't attack if there were so many people there, since king Dacre cared so much about his image in people's eyes.

However, it was Khaos, who arranged that this massive movement couldn't reach Dacre's ears and it became his triumph card to effortlessly stop the attack this morning.

Khaos didn't even need to do anything when he opened the gates for these people and distribute the food supplies to them.

Obviously, people would praise the alpha and forget about the fact that they had cussed him in the beginning for being greedy for even wanting to control two packs. That's how fickle people's heart was.

Their opinion could be swayed as long as you knew what they needed and in this case, it was food.

Standing on top of the fortress, Khaos held Zuri closed to him, as both of them watched the distribution of the food at the front gates. People literally swarmed the gates and it almost looked like they were barricaded the fortress.

Didn't give a chance for the royal warriors to attack without harming them first and they couldn't do that, because it would cause a massive reaction from the rest of the people.

"You are brilliant," Khaos said, he kissed her cheek. Despite her mind was messing with her, Zuri still managed to come up with this idea.

Meanwhile, Zuri was very pleased to hear his compliment. She felt this satisfaction and could tell proudly to the voices in her head to 'fuck off'.

"What will you do next?" Zuri asked.
