The chat erupted in outrage as they watched the scene unfold.
The kid tossed the knife to the ground, his innocent eyes staring at Nicholas before he suddenly burst into tears, his loud wails echoing through the battered streets.
Nicholas didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at the boy’s reaction.
’They got me good’ he chuckled at the thought, holding the injured thigh, as the pain tore through his body.
"Nicholas!" Selena’s voice reached his ears, forcing him to turn his gaze towards her.
She ran towards him, still wrapped in her towel, "I’m sorry, I should’ve seen it too" she said as she crouched next to him, looking at his injured thigh.
"All that time, and you still couldn’t find something decent to wear?" Nicholas replied bluntly.
Selena felt a vein pop by the side of her neck, but she quickly took a deep breath calming herself, "I won’t exchange words with you now. You’re injured, we need an ambulance"
Selena’s brows twitched as she noticed Julie standing right next to her, with her camera’s up, "What are you still doing with that camera?! Call an ambulance! He’s injured!"
Julie pouted, "C’mon! Someone has to make the videos!"

Julie glanced at the comment and immediately looked away.
’Selena would kill me if she saw this’
"You won’t go on any other missions with us" Selena said with a stern face.
Julie’s hair stood on end.
"Shit!" She turned the camera to her face, "Alright guys! Will see you next time, and you’ll get more action from the phantom hero soon! Stay tuned"

[STREAM ENDED] Julie had a large grin going from ear to ear on her face as she read through the comments.

"You still haven’t called the ambulance" Selena’s cold voice pulled her straight out of her imagination.
"Right away! I’ll do that!" Julie pulled out her phone, calling the emergency line, ’Supervisor Selena is such a bully’

The lady said on screen showing the destroyed buildings and roads.
Shattered glass littered the roads.
The Injured being moved to the ambulance truck.
[While we’ve survived our first encounter with these fiendish villains, this might not be the last. The hero of the day is Phantom hero and he is....]
The reporter turned to find the hero, usually the heroes stayed back to leave their words after a big mission like this, but Nicholas was nowhere to be found.
[He is not here with us right now...] The reporter said with an awkward laughter.
Watching the news from his office, his sharp brown eyes didn’t leave the screen.
Clad in a simple suit, his hair neatly swept to one end and his back rested against the sofa.
He twirled a wine glass in his hand, before taking a sip.
By his side, a woman stood calmly, holding a tablet to her chest.
"Sir Ronald, the council wants to reschedule the meeting for next week, regarding new information from the Hero Association." the lady spoke, her words measured and neat.
Ronald gently dropped his glass on the sleek glass table before him, "Oh, and how many councillors have agreed to this?" He asked as he watched the replay of Nicholas fight on the screen, his locked onto his figure.
"Sir, only two out of the seven councilors have agreed with the meeting. Three are against it and one other has yet to make any decision"
"Oh well then, we’ll have the meeting. There’s something important I would love to get from HA, it seems they’ve been keeping this fresh diamond from us. I hate it when they hide things" He said, a small smile climbing up his face as he watched Nicholas on the screen.
’Someone with similar abilities as Vixen. If my association had two Vixens, then it’ll be of really great benefit to us... And with the type of popularity he’s already gathering, it’ll be a big boost for us’ Ronald felt the thrill just from the thoughts.
He couldn’t wait to have his hands on a new hero.
"Phantom, was it? You’ll be joining Raystar association soon" his said, looking at the TV through his raised wine glass.

After patching up his injuries in the field, Nicholas didn’t waste any time as he made his way home.
’Katie asked for chocolates, I have to get those for her’ Nicholas thought, stopping by the mall.
After picking out a few bars of chocolates he walked up to the counter.
"Next!—Oh me gracious goodness! You’ve really got a sweet tooth, what you using so much sweets for?" The man jolted, stunned by the sheer number of chocolate bars he’d brought to the counter.
"It’s a gift" Nicholas replied bluntly.
"Oh well, that should be a thousand bucks"
Without any words, Nicholas casually pulled out his card and paid for it.
As he left the store, the man couldn’t help but look at him, "Wasting so much money on chocolates... Kids these days don’t know the worth of money." The man said with a tired sigh as he turned back to his work.
The drive home was a quiet one, asides the constant stare from the driver who was probably wondering why anyone needed that much chocolate.
But soon he got home, Nicholas felt a wave of relief hit him as he rang the door bell.
The door opened almost immediately, but he didn’t get the normal happy welcome from Katherine.
In fact the person who opened the door today was Marina, and that bone chilling stare from her quickly told him everything.
He’d quickly forgotten how far the broadcast had gone and now he had to face Mommy Rina.
