Chapter 32: Hitman Vs Zayx
Nicholas didn’t think, his body moved before his mind as he sprinted, rolling out of the way.
The swarm of flies crashed into the spot he’d previously been standing with a powerful force, strong enough to leave cracks over the surface of the earth.
That much made one thing certain... These flies weren’t normal.
And fighting them in a cramped up space like this, definitely wasn’t the best option. His conventional weapons couldn’t be of any help against the fleet and this space only favoured the insects.
Nicholas gaze scanned the room, finding the door and without a second thought he bolted straight for the door.
As though they understood his intentions, the swarm immediately followed.
Putting all his strength into his legs, his speed received a major boost, pushing him forward.
As he bolted out through the door, he noticed the door opposite his opening, "What’s going o—"
Selena barely completed her statement as Nicholas ran into her, shutting the door behind him.
"We’ve been attacked." Nicholas slammed the door shut before finally looking up.
Selena stood frozen.
Her damp hair hung over her shoulders and a towel was wrapped hurriedly around her body.
Nicholas watched horror and embarrassment collide on Selena’s face, as her lips parted in an attempt to yell at him.
"You—!"
"I would love to get your words now, but we don’t have time for that now" Selena lost her footing as she heard Nicholas words.
There no time.
Not with what was coming after him.
Hurriedly he moved and what he did next, was sure to Incur her anger...
If they survived this though.
She felt his hand wrapping around her legs and forcefully taking her off her feet.
"Whoa... Hey, let go of—"
Wham!
In the next moment. Everything became chaotic, the loud sound of an explosion as the swarm of flies horrendously tore through the door shattering it to pieces like a bull has rammed directly into it.
One of the Piece, the size of an arm struck Nicholas on the shoulder.
"Argggh!" He groaned pain permeating his entire being.
But he didn’t stop, he dared not.
Not after seeing what the swarm was capable of.
If they could tear down a door that easily, what would they do to him who was merely a mundane combination of flesh and bones.
The room was already filling with flies.
The door was gone.
The hallway was blocked.
The only exit left was the window.
Nicholas didn’t hesitate.
He sprinted toward it.
’We can make a safe jump from here right?’
[Affirmative, you’re on the second floor, damage could be sustained however that depends on landing]
’Good. I’ve fallen from higher buildings, landing isn’t an issue’
With the built momentum, he drove straight at the window.
Shattering the glass on impact, he scrunched up upon impact, shielding himself and Selena from the shards of shattered glass.
Even then, that didn’t allow them to escape unscathed, the small shards left cuts across his face.
Downstairs, Julie was just about to rush inside the building, she had already gone live, her camera angled perfectly when she noticed the two figures burst straight out of the window with a swarm of flies flowing right behind them.
The chat blew up in an instant.
[Sadninja: Crazy, I thought she was joking. That actually looks like an actual hero.. what an entrance]

Julie’s face lit up in an instant as she saw the flood of comments, a grin went from ear to ear, ’This is perfect!’
Nicholas readied himself for impact midair, landing first with his legs absorbing impact as he bent his knee, before quickly rolling over finally letting Selena off his grasp.
She wanted to complain but her voice stuck in her throat as she saw the dire situation, she tied her towel tightly, giving a safe distance away from the scene.

Thanks to the comment, Julie quickly spotted Selena and almost at the same time Selena noticed the camera.
Julie flinched, ’Ahhh! Selena will kill me! What should I do... Wait! I can use my abilities!’ with her abilities, she conjured up effects in the shoot, censoring Selena with a fairy dressed in a peach outfit.
[Pervertesage: C’mon? Why block it off, that was a good show there!]
Julie felt the urge to punch the viewer right through the camera, sadly that wasn’t possible.
[600 people joined the stream]
"Yeee. Fuck that brat, there’s so many people... I have to focus on the scene" Julie refocused the camera shifting back to Nicholas.
Nicholas stood to his feet immediately looking at the swarm of flies now hovering above the hotel in their numbers.
Casting a large shadow over the entire area, but they didn’t swarm down to attack like before, they just hovered in the air as though waiting for a command.
Nicholas felt a sharp pain in his shoulder, while he was trying to protect Selena from the impact of the fall, his shoulder had taken some damage and now they felt slightly numb.
But right now, pain couldn’t make him tear his gaze away from the danger in front of him.
The swarm suddenly parted, as though a sword cleaved right through them, evenly spread across two sides like wings and in the center, a figure stood, being carried by the weight of thousands..maybe millions of plagued flies holding onto him.
A butterfly casually flew towards his lifted finger, the scenery looked peaceful, beautiful in fact, if it didn’t start out so chaotic, then they would’ve been stolen by the scenery.
As it landed on his hands, he turned to Nicholas, "Beautiful aren’t they... But you humans build over everything. Every hive destroyed becomes another city. Our homez destroyed, and pollution everywhere. You’ve always been the hunters. We may—"
"Having buzzing flies is already annoying, one that speaks is even more annoying. Can you just get straight to the point already?" Nicholas cut in even before Zayx could finish his short speech.
[Josh246: Damn! That hero’s got a sharp tongue. I’m liking him already.]

Zayx compound eyes shifted in an unsettling way, twitching in annoyance, "You dare inzult uzz! Die!"
The swarm descended.
Nicholas exhaled slowly.
Void was still on cooldown and for a moment, it made him reconsider his words, if he didn’t say that, he would’ve bought more time, but...
’Scratch that, I’ll deal with it either way’ he thought, his brows furrowing.
