Chapter 107: Trouble Maker.

The moment he activated the ability, the world distorted, as though reality itself had peeled back a layer.

And that was when he saw it, in Catboy’s direction.

A horseshoe hung above his head, dark energy curling around it. The energy drifted downward and latched onto Catboy’s legs like leeches, and that was when it happened.

Catboy fell.

"What the hell is that? An ability?" Nicholas’ brows knitted together as his gaze swept across everyone in the room.

’No one else has the horse shoe’ Nicholas frowned, shifting his gaze back to catboy and the others.

"What happened?!" Dana panicked as she rushed out of the pool, some of the others following right behind her.

Catboy held his legs, twisting and turning on the floor, the sharp pain exploding through his body.

Dana reached his side in an instant, her eyes scanning the ground. ’He fell... but there’s nothing here that could’ve tripped him. Did he fall by himself? I hope he isn’t pretending.’ She glanced around one last time before kneeling beside him to examine his injury.

His face was scrunched up in pain. His teeth were clenched tightly, and his eyes were squeezed shut.

Dana’s gaze immediately shifted to the leg he was clutching. There wasn’t a single visible wound, but the area had already swollen into a deep red lump.

’This is bad’ Dana thought.

"How did he even trip? There’s nothing here," Nectron asked calmly.

"That pervert might just be looking for attention." Vixen said with a cold voice as she walked over, her hands crossed over her chest.

"I don’t think he fell intentionally... But there’s nothing that could’ve possibly made him fall," Dana said as she turned to the others. GroR had already rolled over to the scene, its visor scanning for any signs of a mishap.

"GroR, call the medics immediately" Dana ordered.

(►__◄) Already did that, they’re on their way.

Just as it made the statement, several medics entered the pool area. They looked around for a moment before spotting the group and quickly moving over.

Dana stepped aside and allowed the medics to do their work.

From the side Selena walked over, "I actually thought he was playing some sort of stupid prank. Didn’t know it was serious, I’ve asked the Russians, they said they didn’t know what made him fall, and they were the closest at the time." Selena’s eyes remained fixed on the medics as they worked.

"This doesn’t look like a coincidence though" Thinker added, standing beside Selena.

"It could’ve been, he can be a clumsy cat at times" Selena rolled her eyes seeing the pained expression on Catboy’s face.

"Regardless of how it happened, what’s important is dealing with it now. Let’s just hope the injury isn’t too serious." Dana said with a frown.

Just as she made the statement, the medic team leader stood up, "I’m afraid he won’t be able to use that leg for some time."

"I just had to jinx it" Dana said rubbing her forehead in disappointment, "Call Doctor Cho, if it’s too serious, we can’t have him going right now. We need him for the event" Dana said, her voice stern.

The medic team leader smiled wryly at her words, "Miss Dana, Sir Cho’s schedule changed, and he’s currently out of the country. He won’t be back anytime soon."

Dana’s frown deepened, "This reduces our chances of winning the event" she said letting out a frustrated sigh.

"Can’t we have someone else fill in the role?" Vixen asked.

"Well, that would need us to pick from all our current participants, we can’t bring in another person. Those are the rules of the event, everyone should be carefully selected before being brought so there are no changes to the plan or strategy." Dana said, lost deep in thoughts.

"The racing tournament is coming up first and we don’t have a second person, that already throws us off by several points from the other countries. I can’t complete the entire track myself" Light panicked from the side.

"This is ridiculous. What kind of mistake would’ve left him like this?" Vixen said, her voice dripping with annoyance.

"It’s not a mistake," Nicholas’ voice echoed from behind, causing everyone to pause and turn in his direction.

"But we didn’t see anything that could’ve possibly led to his fall, except you’re saying he fell himself? Although that’s not too farfetched" Vixen said.

"Someone attacked him" Nicholas said causing everyone’s brows to furrow.

Dana let out a soft sigh, "I guess they couldn’t wait to start playing their dirty tricks this year. Do you have any idea who did it?"

"No I can’t tell, but his fall was certainly caused by an external influence" Nicholas said firmly.

They all had their gazes fixed on catboy as the medics already moved with the cart, taking him out with them.

"I see...." Dana said with a frown as she turned her eyes back to the heroes from the other countries who were all staring in their direction, some with curiosity others with worry.

"We can’t point fingers without proof, but the moment we catch whoever is responsible, their entire team will be removed from the tournament. The problem is that, with an ability that has such a wide area of effect, identifying the user won’t be easy." Dana said, her voice trailing off as she entered into thoughts.

"If we can’t find the culprit now, the least we can do is find someone to fill in the space for the race. Missing points will make it difficult to win" Nectron said.

"I’ll take Catboy’s place in the race," Nicholas said. "And I’ll find the culprit."

"Why did I have a feeling you’d say that?" Dana asked with a smirk, followed by a thoughtful sigh, she knew Nicholas.

"I can’t pay you for this, don’t know if you’ll be up for an X glasses upgrade"

"That’s fair" Nicholas replied, to him though he didn’t mind not getting paid for this.

Judging from her reply, it seemed fowl play was allowed during the main tournament, the other countries had crossed the line when they started messing around even before the tournament started, and now Nicholas simply wanted to pay them back in their own coin.

’It’s been a while since I caused trouble,’ Nicholas thought, a faint smile tugging at his lips. ’Seems this tournament might be more interesting than I expected.’

Dana didn’t even have to offer; he’d already taken the entire scenario personal.
