Chapter 695: Unconscious

Xu Mumu held the dagger, and at this moment, the Jade Pendant heated up once more.

The Jade Pendant was scorching to the touch, so much so that she couldn’t ignore it even if she wanted to. She had initially planned to sneak in immediately to rescue her son.

Xu Mumu took out the Jade Pendant, and as she did so, she felt as if the pendant was like a magnet, constantly moving towards the dagger even as she held it.

Xu Mumu brought the pendant closer to the dagger, and she felt as though her eyesight was betraying her; the purple-black color on the dagger dispersed visibly, and the temperature of the pendant gradually decreased, with its jade texture seemingly improving a bit.

Xu Mumu squinted slightly; this wasn’t the time to study the pendant. She put it back inside her clothes, thinking she would examine it further after rescuing Doudou.

She crouched low, stealthily approaching the backyard. Xu Mumu eyed the window not far off, sneaking up to it, her hand now holding several round stones. Weighing them in her hand, she was thankful for the practice she’d had during the apocalypse; hitting multiple people with these stones simultaneously posed no problem.

Xu Mumu eyed the few thieves eating not far away; there was someone acting as a lookout upstairs. She and Yin Yang had already planned that when she dealt with those around Doudou, his men would incapacitate the lookout; no need to kill, just render him immobile.

Xu Mumu saw the little one inside the room appearing calm, and a bit of her inner rage dissipated.

The stones in Xu Mumu’s hand shot out at once; despite the glass barrier, thanks to her strength, they flew inside instantly, precisely hitting the heads of those individuals.

All of them had bloody holes bashed into their foreheads, and they fell instantly.

Xu Mumu jumped in immediately, but before getting close to Doudou, one of the women hadn’t fully lost consciousness.

Xu Mumu felt a sudden sense of pangs, instinctively dodging, but it was a moment too late. If she hadn’t dodged quickly, the bullet would have struck her heart, but now, it only hit her shoulder.

A wave of severe pain coursed through her; Xu Mumu leaned against the wall, looking at the already-unconscious woman, an ominous gleam flashing in her eyes. It had been a long time since she’d felt such bloodlust, pressing her hand hard against her wound.

Xu Mumu’s eyes reddened; the sight of the flowing blood from those individuals stimulated her nerves, driving her closer step by step, her mind consumed only by thoughts of destruction.

The Jade Pendant on her chest erupted in frantic glowing; Xu Mumu seemed unable to see anything else, focusing solely on those thieves, intent on killing them, all of them.

Her killing intent surged within her, overturning everything around, leaving only the small space beside Doudou intact. Even though she was somewhat bewitched, she instinctively protected her son.

"Mom, Mom." Doudou struggled continuously; this kind of mom appeared strange to him; he didn’t want her to become that way, tears pouring down his cheeks. The ropes binding him were ground apart; the little guy no longer cared about the wounds on his wrists, running quickly towards Xu Mumu.

With a little lump clinging to her leg, Xu Mumu listened to the soft voice of the little one, becoming somewhat more clear-headed.

At this moment, the Jade Pendant within Xu Mumu’s clothes sensed her regaining sanity and swiftly extracted the negative emotions from her heart.

Yin Yang entered with his people then, seeing Xu Mumu injured, his eyes showing an unnatural redness, while the little one cried.

"Mumu, are you okay?" Yin Yang was terrified, ignoring his son, and immediately embraced Xu Mumu, noticing the bloodstain on her shoulder; she was hit in the shoulder.

"Drive up here, head to the hospital. Jiang Ye, you stay and handle matters here." Yin Yang called to his subordinate.

Xu Mumu took a look at Yin Yang, then glanced down at Doudou. The little guy had returned, yet she felt exhausted, not only physically but more so mentally, as she slowly closed her eyes.

After Xu Mumu lost consciousness, chaos ensued even more here. Yin Yang hurriedly carried her into the car, Doudou accompanying, watching his mother’s wound unceasingly bleed, father and son shocked.

The car reached the hospital, and Yin Yang’s people had already arranged things, followed by Xu Mumu being taken right into the operating room.

Meanwhile, Xu Mumu found herself in a peculiar space, staring, eye to eye, with a palm-sized little elf.

"How come you’re so stupid? I lent you my energy, yet you nearly ended up killing yourself and let me fall into that old geezer’s hands." The little elf dragged Xu Mumu, reprimanding her nonstop.

"Stop, stop, give me a moment, explain clearly, what exactly is going on? We don’t seem to know each other, do we?" Xu Mumu hesitated, looking at the little elf, finding it familiar, yet having no memories regarding it.

The little elf circled around Xu Mumu, then pondered, an annoyed glint in its eyes.

"Uh, Mumu, I seem to have made a mistake, what should I do?" The little elf looked at Xu Mumu with a mournful face.

"What mistake?" Xu Mumu’s heart skipped a beat, intuiting it wasn’t something good.

"When I traveled with you, your soul wasn’t completely taken along." The little elf said softly, its eyes somewhat avoiding Xu Mumu’s gaze.

"What do you mean?" Xu Mumu paused for two seconds, looking at the palm-sized little elf in front of her, feeling she could crush a hundred of them with a punch.

"Uh, well, as you know, humans have three souls and seven spirits; your life soul remained there, and now, your emotional instability is causing your spirit to weaken. If you can’t merge with your life soul in time, you’ll face soul dispersal." The little elf hung its head.

"How do I retrieve it?" Xu Mumu pursed her lips; she didn’t want to die. Having survived the apocalypse made her treasure her life all the more.

"It’s impossible to retrieve; you must go over there. When your body can no longer sustain, I can take you back with me." The little elf looked at Xu Mumu, biting its finger; over the years, it had accumulated some energy, yet wanting to travel through time with Xu Mumu again would leave it drained once more and likely put it to sleep for several years.

"Go back, back?" Xu Mumu felt unwell all over; who would want to return to that dreadful place? No way, life here was wonderful and comfortable, who would willingly choose suffering?

"Yeah, it’s all my fault for being inexperienced back then; that’s why there was a deviation." The little elf said apologetically.

"Then I want to bring my man and children back with me." Xu Mumu pursed her lips; she didn’t want to be lonely in that awful place.

"But, my energy is only enough to take you through once more, even using my reserve energy. After crossing over, I’ll need to sleep for several years again." The little elf looked at Xu Mumu, pleading, this master was truly difficult.
