Chapter 683: Two Sons

The birth didn’t take long, mainly because Xu Mumu was in good health, and the two babies were not large. Having given birth once before, it went quite smoothly.

"Congratulations, you have two boys," the doctor smiled at the two of them.

Both Xu Mumu and Yin Yang were silent for a few seconds, having thought they would have a girl.

The two babies were wrinkled and small, and they were placed beside Xu Mumu.

When Xu Mumu was wheeled out of the delivery room, the family immediately gathered around.

"Son-in-law, are the babies boys or girls? Are they twins?" Li Caixia asked excitedly. Finally, they were out; she felt her daughter was just like her, giving birth exceptionally well, instantly prospering the Yin Family.

"Two boys, Mom. Please keep your voice down, Mumu is tired," Yin Yang said gently.

"Okay, okay." Li Caixia nodded repeatedly, her gaze falling on the two babies sleeping side by side next to Xu Mumu. Others did the same. Although the babies were just born, it didn’t affect the family’s love for them at all.

Back in the ward, the whole family surrounded the two sleeping babies.

"Not a sister." Doudou was a bit disappointed, gently poking the little faces of his brothers. So soft, so nice to touch.

"Brothers are good too. You can take them to play with you," Professor Song said with a smile, patting Doudou on the head, even though he also wanted two little great-granddaughters.

"Alright." Doudou nodded obediently, thinking the brothers seemed well-behaved too.

When Xu Mumu woke up, she was much better, though still somewhat uncomfortable.

"Mumu, you’re awake, have something to eat." Seeing her daughter wake up, Li Caixia immediately brought over the prepared food.

"Mom, you’re all here." Xu Mumu glanced around the room, noticing it was filled with people waiting.

"Yes, dear, are you hungry?" Li Caixia looked at her daughter’s somewhat pale face, feeling deeply for her.

"A bit hungry." Xu Mumu glanced at her son sleeping beside her, talking to herself silently; her little princess was gone just like that, feeling a little lost.

The food Li Caixia prepared was mostly meant to aid in breastfeeding, as there were two babies, unsure if it would be enough for both.

"Mumu, does anything hurt?" Yin Yang looked at his wife obediently eating, feeling relieved. As for the two little rascals, they weren’t his priority at the moment.

"Don’t worry, I’m fine. Just didn’t expect to have two boys," Xu Mumu smiled.

Lightly holding Yin Yang’s hand, she knew he was even more nervous than she was when she was giving birth.

Xu Mumu drank some fish soup. It tasted nice, just a bit bland. Having experienced postpartum meals before, she was used to the taste.

The two babies were so tiny. Xu Mumu reached out to touch their faces, soft and tender.

"Have you decided on the children’s names?" Xu Mumu smiled, looking at Yin Yang. This time, he had been focused on coming up with a girl’s name, and now she found it amusing that they had two boys.

"I’ve decided. The second one will be Yin Mo, and the third Yin Lian," Yin Yang said softly. The names were chosen from the leftover names they had considered for Doudou, not as meticulously as when they were naming a daughter.

"I also wanted to name the great-grandchildren," Professor Song said wistfully from the side, his eyes full of a grieving look at his great-grandsons.

"It’s alright. Having kids around is enough," Professor Jian laughed, comforting Professor Song. Even though the little ones weren’t girls, he was delighted at the thought of playing with them every day without having to compete with Professor Song for childcare.

After eating a little, Xu Mumu felt more spirited, watching her two kids sleep with the family, an endlessly captivating sight.

The birth of the two kids made the ward even livelier.

In the afternoon, Yu Xinyao came with her son. Yu Xinyao was even more disappointed than Yin Yang, having eagerly prepared for her son to someday marry Xu Mumu’s little princess. But things turned out differently, as Xu Mumu had two boys.

"If only they were two girls," Yu Xinyao said, holding her son, looking at the two babies. Both babies were awake since Xu Mumu had just fed them. They weren’t crying, seeming very quiet.

"What a dream," Xu Mumu rolled her eyes. She also wanted two girls. Thinking of Yun Qiu from her sister-in-law’s family, being so well-behaved, she wanted two girls even more.

"Boys are good too. If they’re girls and get bullied after marriage, what then," Xu Mumu said calmly.

"Marry into my family, and I’ll protect her," Yu Xinyao said with a smile. In her work, family planning was enforced strictly over the years, and she couldn’t have more children, so she was counting on Xu Mumu, hoping she’d have a princess in a few years.

"Tsk, tsk, I don’t plan on having more kids for now. Don’t dream of it. Even if I do, it might not be a daughter," Xu Mumu said helplessly.

"So my future daughter-in-law is gone. Can’t I at least complain a bit?" Yu Xinyao joked with a laugh.

"Alright, alright, go ahead."

Yu Xinyao didn’t stay long and soon left with Huo Qingze.

The two kids cried very little. Xu Mumu looked at her children; they ate and slept, very easy to care for.

After staying in the hospital for two days, Xu Mumu insisted on going home for postpartum care, as she didn’t feel comfortable with the hospital’s smell.

Back home, Xu Mumu immediately felt at ease. Without the medicinal odor, she could sleep much more peacefully.

Both children were very healthy and had quite the appetite. The milk wasn’t quite enough, so Yin Yang specifically bought a lot of formula.

"Buying so much, can the kids finish it?" Professor Song asked, looking at the stacks of formula, thinking his son-in-law seemed to be raising piglets.

"If they can’t finish it, we’ll give it away. Doudou can drink some formula too; he’ll definitely grow taller," Yin Yang replied calmly.

Listening intently, Doudou absorbed everything his father said. Drinking more milk could help him grow taller.

Currently, he sat in the front row in the classroom, unable to sit with his uncles. The little one was particularly concerned about his height.

"Dad, I want to drink formula," the little one said seriously.

"Good boy," Yin Yang nodded in approval. He was quite pleased with his eldest son. The little one was smart and easily grasped everything taught, the ideal heir in his eyes.

Now with two more sons, he didn’t have the same high expectations as with his eldest but still hoped his sons would be outstanding.
