Chapter 569: Being Busy and Happy
Over the years, Kangkang has been well taken care of, and his health has improved a lot. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have thought about sending her son to school.
A few aunts helped prepare a large table full of dishes; there were quite a few children at home today. Fengfeng was very happy as he hadn’t seen several of his cousins for a long time. Before the holidays, they would often meet, but after the break, everyone went back to their own homes.
"Fourth Sister, you brought so many apples again. We haven’t finished the ones you brought last time," Little Xu Mingfeng said earnestly to his cousin.
"They can last, so just eat them slowly. Do you like them, Fengfeng?" Xu Jiaojiao said nonchalantly. Apples were plentiful at home. Besides bringing two boxes of apples, she also brought two smoked rabbits.
"I like them, but I’ve eaten too many, Fourth Sister. I’ve gained weight," the little guy said with some frustration.
"It’s okay, you’ve just gained a little. You look just right now," Xu Jiaojiao assessed her younger cousin. He had indeed rounded up quite a bit, and this appearance was what the older folks considered a sign of good fortune.
"But I don’t look good anymore. I want to lose weight." The little guy lay on the table, unwilling to move, feeling aggrieved.
His look made Xu Mumu laugh silently, and she moved her face away to prevent the little guy from seeing her smile.
With Xia Chengyuan present at noon, the house was quite lively, especially with Old Xu. His grandchildren had all grown up, and with no one from the second family standing out, having someone marry into the family was a good thing. He was quite optimistic about the young man.
Xia Chengyuan had excellent grades at school and was already exploring entrepreneurship. After graduation, he could be assigned a job, making him a promising prospect in the eyes of the elders.
This New Year was particularly lively at home.
Xu Mumu also saw her third aunt with a prominent belly and noticed that Dongbao had lost a lot of weight, looked more gloomy, and appeared to be having a hard time, especially with siblings on the way and no longer being the only child. Combined with his parents’ disappointment, he was now more withdrawn.
When the third aunt’s family was about to leave, Xu Mumu took another look at Dongbao, wondering if he regretted anything.
Dongbao was still so young and not studying, idle at home every day, and just playing. If he didn’t learn anything, what job could he find in the future?
Maybe doing manual labor? But he didn’t seem suited for that.
Ultimately, Xu Mumu decided not to say anything. Talking wouldn’t help anyway, especially now that families had separated, and she had her own son to worry about.
After the New Year, it was time to move. Apart from the children preparing for school, Xu Hai and the others came over to help with the move.
At the Xu family’s side, Xu Minghui got a small car and helped move things from the house.
With Yin Yang calling in more people, the move was incredibly fast; by noon, most things were already moved.
"The houses here are really nice. When I save enough money, I’ll buy one here," Xu Minghui said as they moved things into the new house; the villa setup left the Xu family in awe. Especially Xu Minghui, who was very impressed by the houses here.
"You better hurry; the houses here sell fast," Yin Yang patted his brother-in-law’s shoulder, commenting. Even with Huo Qingze raising the prices, plenty of people still came to see the houses.
Through these housing deals, Huo Qingze quickly recouped his funds and was preparing to venture into other industries.
"I got it," Xu Minghui nodded. The location here was indeed excellent. After opening that large supermarket, he learned more about the local businesses and knew there were many wealthy people here.
Some had rapidly made money due to open policies, while others were already rich but previously kept a low profile.
No matter which, the provincial capital had plenty of wealthy people.
Gradually, state enterprises were declining; some were closing down, others transforming into private enterprises.
With his brother-in-law’s words in mind, Xu Minghui planned to review his finances after returning and might ask Huo Qingze the price of the houses.
As Xu Mumu and the others moved house, Huo Qingze brought Yu Xinyao along to join the festivities, congratulating them on their new home.
Yu Xinyao brought many pretty little clothes for the little ones. As soon as they arrived, Xu Mumu took Yu Xinyao to try them on her son. With clothes looking this good, they just had to try them on and take some pictures.
"Mumu, try this one first. This blue one looks the best," Yu Xinyao eagerly pulled out her favorite, saying excitedly.
"It does look great. I’ll put it on him," Xu Mumu nodded in agreement. With an air conditioner in the room, they didn’t worry about the little guy getting cold.
The two of them happily dressed the little guy and took photos together, thoroughly enjoying themselves.
Outside, Yin Yang was discussing company cooperation with Huo Qingze, completely unaware of how his little woman was dressing up their son in the room.
The little guy was in good health, thinking his mom was playing with him as she changed his clothes. Every time a photo was taken, he cooperatively smiled, cuter than ever.
Even before they finished trying all the clothes, they had used up an entire roll of film. Xu Mumu quickly loaded a new one to continue.
After trying on all the clothes Yu Xinyao brought, Xu Mumu was exhausted, yet the little guy was still having fun. With his mom lying beside him, he lay in her arms, reaching for her clothes, still wanting to play.
"Doudou is so energetic; I’m already tired," Yu Xinyao, also tired, slumped onto the couch.
But having filled two rolls of film made it all worthwhile. She never imagined the little guy would look so good in all the clothes she bought; he was adorable, making her want to snatch him away.
"He’s indeed full of energy; he might be a handful in the future," Xu Mumu laughed, saying. After all, he inherited her superpower. Even if his ability wasn’t as strong as hers, it was enough to keep him healthy. As long as he didn’t act recklessly, he might stay healthy his whole life without ever getting sick.
Since arriving in this world, she had only experienced a mild fever once; otherwise, she was always healthy, even bouncing around while pregnant.
"That’s great; boys should be lively. I’ll have a pretty little girl in the future and have your son marry into our family," Yu Xinyao joked.
