Chapter 548: Xu Xue’s Decision

"Qian Ying is my daughter, what’s wrong with her being filial to me? It’s only right. Even if you report it, no one will care." Old Lady Qian’s fish-like eyes stared intently at Xu Xue.

Looking at Xu Xue’s assertiveness, every time she went to the second house, as long as Xu Xue was there, nothing good came of it.

"Oh really, then go to my mom to ask for your filial piety. I’m the one in charge at my house, and everything at home is up to me." Xu Xue sneered. She had spent most of her time these past two years on her own restaurant, and business was good.

They rented a small shop for their parents, giving them some money in their hands, which also gave the Qian Family a chance to cause trouble.

While she wasn’t home, the only ones left were the fourth house, and the Qian Family belonged to Qian Ying’s family. They simply couldn’t interfere with the second house’s affairs, otherwise the Qian Family wouldn’t have succeeded so many times.

"Spit! You useless thing will be married off in the future, and you still want to be in charge at my daughter’s house." Old Lady Qian exploded. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

"Even if I do get married, I can still be in charge at home. Grandma, you can try." Xu Xue sneered. Her parents had really disappointed her too much, and she felt tired, so she planned to solve it all at once.

"My eldest niece is right, she will be in charge at the second house from now on. That’s what my mom said." Xu Hai pulled up Madam Chen’s banner. He didn’t want to help the second house clean up their mess anymore. The two of them were such pushovers that they deserved to be bullied, and the two of them weren’t even as good as the younger ones.

"Xu Jiang, you useless man, even your daughter can ride on top of you. You’re so pathetic." Old Lady Qian was furious, challenging Xu Jiang directly.

"I, I listen to my mom."

In the end, the matter was resolved, and a lot of stuff from the Qian Family was smashed. When they left, they took two old hens and more than a hundred yuan as medical expenses. When Xu Xue and the others left, the Qian Family was furious, but they didn’t dare to cause a ruckus anymore.

Xu Xue walked in front, not caring at all about the dark face of her father. She planned to return and give up the small shop they rented in the county. She now had some money, so buying a house was feasible.

She felt the provincial city was nice, far from the Qian Family, and she felt more at ease keeping her parents close by, and she planned to take control of the family’s finances as well. If they held onto money every day but didn’t want to spend it, insisting on giving it to the Qian Family, then they shouldn’t have it at all.

Back in the county, Xu Jiang wanted to say something, but Xu Xue ignored him and went directly to handle what she wanted to do.

When Xu Hai and the others returned, Xu Mumu and the rest were still waiting there, listening to her dad vividly recounting what happened today. Xu Mumu twitched the corner of her mouth. Her dad was still the same. This time the Qian Family got smashed, and it would probably hurt them for a long time. Losing more than a hundred yuan was like digging Old Lady Qian’s heart out.

Xu Xue arrived after a long wait. She had already returned the shop, and matters back home had to be dealt with slowly.

Xu Xue had already booked the restaurant, and when she came over, she directly invited them to eat.

The restaurant Xu Xue chose had a nice location, the environment was clean, and the food tasted good, but Xu Jiang ate without tasting it.

With Xu Xue stirring things up, ties with his wife’s family were completely severed, and he didn’t know how to explain it to his wife. Even though his wife, Qian Ying, was soft-hearted, Old Lady Qian was still her mother, and she did care. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have let Old Lady Qian take things every time she came.

Madam Chen, eating, felt this handling was quite good.

"Second, from now on, let your eldest daughter be in charge of the family. If you two are in charge, I fear you’ll lose it all." Madam Chen looked disdainfully at Xu Jiang, who ate without tasting.

"Mom, Xue will get married eventually." Xu Jiang pursed his lips. There had been some unpleasantness over who ran the household, but of course, it’s better to have money in hand to do things more conveniently.

"Then get a son-in-law to live in. She’s not lacking in anything. You two stay in line, or you’ll pay with your life." Madam Chen rolled her eyes, unwilling to bother with her foolish son.

"I have a son." Having a son but still needing a son-in-law, Xu Jiang thought his mother was going crazy.

"Nagging again, and I’ll rip your mouth apart. What, I can’t be in charge in your house?" Madam Chen glared at Xu Jiang, slamming her chopsticks on the table with a snap.

Seeing his mother angry, Xu Jiang dared not speak more. It was better to listen to his mother obediently. "You can, Mom. You decide." Xu Jiang, whispering, hung his head, not daring to meet his mother’s fiery eyes.

Xu Xue glanced faintly at her father, her lips curving slightly. Suddenly, she thought her grandmother wasn’t that annoying anymore.

If it came to bringing in a son-in-law, Huo Qingze surely wouldn’t agree. But even if she got married, she could still be in charge of the household.

Lying in the hospital, Qian Ying already knew about everything that happened. Naturally, she felt upset, and at this time, it was only Xu Jiang who cared about her. With everything getting mixed up like this, even Xu Wan felt distressed.

After the meal, Xu Mumu and the others were ready to leave. The rest of the matters, Xu Xue could handle alone, without their concern.

After Madam Chen and the others left, Xu Xue went directly to the hospital room to announce her decision.

Madam Chen had spoken about who would be in charge at home, so the couple could only obediently agree. Having become accustomed to adversity their whole lives, they really didn’t dare oppose Madam Chen.

Xu Xue planned to rent out the family fields to the fourth house. The house at home had just been renovated, and it was quite nice, so Xu Xue was reluctant to sell the foundation. The shop was closed, and they planned to move to the provincial city and help with some work in her shop.

"We already have a house. Why buy another one in the provincial city?" Qian Ying pursed her lips. She knew her daughter wasn’t happy, but what could she do? That was her mother. She couldn’t just hit her, could she?

"What, do you still want the Qian Family to come leech off you?" Xu Xue said coldly, losing her patience with her parents.

With the reprieve granted by Madam Chen, Xu Xue made the decision directly. She came to tell them, not to negotiate, but to inform them.

With Xu Jiang taking care of Qian Ying in the hospital room, Xu Xue went straight to handle her pile of matters.

The second house had a lot of people, so they received a fair amount of farmland. Xu Po readily took over these fields. The family had planted many fruit trees, but now they could plant more grain. No one wanted to live through the hardship of the past years again, and the second house’s fields were well located.

Moreover, Xu Xue only charged a symbolic rent, essentially letting them farm for free, and whatever was harvested belonged to them.

With matters in the hometown settled, Xu Xue rushed back to the provincial city. She still had studies, restaurant affairs to manage, and a house to find, keeping her hands full.
