"Senior, what do you mean by this? You were kidnapped, and it has something to do with Meimei?" Ye Mingmei was completely stunned, nervously looking down at the still-sleeping Meimei, gently touching her warm little body.
The waiting room door suddenly swung open, and Dan Hanjie’s tall figure appeared outside the door, holding the petite Qin Youxuan with one arm, striding in.
The combination of handsome men and beautiful women instantly captured everyone’s attention.
The bewitching eyes swept across everything at the scene, landing on Jin Chenye, narrowing slightly.
"Is Meimei okay?" Qin Youxuan, upon seeing Ye Mingmei, hurried forward, worriedly looking at the little girl in her arms.
Ye Mingmei shook her head, recalling Jin Chenye’s earlier speculation, feeling a lingering fear, "She’s fine now, but we don’t know whether this person came for Senior or Meimei. We can’t guess the other party’s intentions at all."
"Since nothing has happened, let’s go back first. I’ll have someone investigate this matter." Dan Hanjie replied indifferently.
His sharp, mysterious gaze fell on the footprints on the floor, a slight smile tugging at the corner of his mouth as he turned, ready to leave.
"Wait a minute."
Jin Chenye suddenly spoke, his warm eyes flashing with assertiveness, "The timing of this incident is too coincidental. I always feel something is off."
He had decided last minute to accompany Ye Mingmei to the parent-teacher meeting; it’s impossible for anyone to have gotten word of his plans in advance and blocked him on the road just at the right moment.
Ye Mingmei received news of his mishap just as she left, and then something happened to Meimei...
"Neither of them were harmed, and you still feel something’s off? Do you hope something actually happened to prove the other party’s intentions?" Dan Hanjie said coldly, giving Jin Chenye a sidelong glance.
Jin Chenye furrowed his brows, "I’m just speaking plainly. If we don’t clarify the other party’s purpose, none of us will be at ease. The fact they managed to kidnap me and silently approach Meimei in itself is a huge problem..."
"The biggest problem is you’re overthinking. This whole thing might just be a coincidence." Dan Hanjie interrupted Jin Chenye, stepping forward and looking at the undisturbed sleeping Meimei.
"Tell me, who would go through the trouble of approaching a child yet do nothing?"

"Let me say this: The target was you, and as for Meimei, she was just caught in the crossfire. You should manage your own matters so not to drag her into this."
Just as Dan Hanjie was about to say more, Qin Youxuan tugged at his arm, signaling him not to speak further as she looked at Jin Chenye’s displeased expression.
They were initially surprised to hear that Jin Chenye was coming to attend Meimei’s parent-teacher meeting, and were planning to sit down and catch up once everyone arrived, unaware that such an accident would occur.
Thankfully, no one was harmed, and regarding the investigation, they could take time to handle it slowly.

The atmosphere in the waiting room was indescribably oppressive.
"Today is the parents’ meeting for the little ones. I was attending the gala at the grand hall in front, and you all chose to sneak into this small waiting room for a private tea discussion. Is that appropriate?"
