Chapter 1881: Chapter 1881: I Totally Feel I Went Too Easy
"Did you just say you have nothing to do with Yang Meilan?" Ye Mingmei finally snapped out of her shock.
"Is it that important?" Yu Xiuzhun saw her serious demeanor, and his interest piqued. He put down his glass, leaned slightly forward, and got closer to Ye Mingmei.
"Of course it is!" Ye Mingmei’s emotions were visibly agitated.
Yu Xiuzhun narrowed his wicked eyes, as if a small firework exploded in his heart.
"How important?"
"Important enough that I’d want to strangle Yang Meilan!" Ye Mingmei slammed the table in indignation and sat up straight.
"If you’re not getting engaged, why did she run to me and spout nonsense, acting like I’m the homewrecker clinging to you? Which of her eyes saw me clinging to you? Clearly, I don’t care, okay!"
Ye Mingmei didn’t notice Yu Xiuzhun’s face had already darkened. She paused, then continued speaking.
"I was already angry as it was, but I kept telling myself not to be bothered by her. Women in love are all brain-damaged, and we should care for the disabled. Turns out you’re not even getting engaged. Tell me, isn’t she crazy? Just coming here to vent for no reason?"
"..."
"Luckily, I’m not easy to mess with either. I gave her a slap, left her dumbfounded, completely scared silly. At the time, I thought I might have hit too hard, but now I feel I didn’t hit hard enough!"
Ye Mingmei’s incessant chatter was cut short by a sudden chill down her spine.
She lifted her head, meeting Yu Xiuzhun’s fierce gaze, and only then realized what she had just said. Instantly, she covered her mouth with her hand.
"Don’t care? Huh!" Yu Xiuzhun gritted his teeth.
"..."
Ye Mingmei scooted her little butt, thinking of grabbing her bag and running away.
But she had no money in her bag, and running out meant running all the way home—it was really far...
Her legs would break from running.
"Your steak is ready, both of you." The waiter brought over two plates of steak, respectfully placed them on the table, and refilled their wine glasses.
"I’m so hungry. No talking while eating or sleeping. Let’s eat first, and we’ll talk later."
As soon as the waiter turned around, Ye Mingmei immediately picked up the knife and fork, ready to start on her steak.
She pretended to nonchalantly cut the steak while sneaking glances at Yu Xiuzhun.
Afraid that he’d pick up the knife and fork not to cut the steak, but to cut her throat.
"It really tastes good. Aren’t you eating?"
Ye Mingmei ate a piece and then handed the second piece to Yu Xiuzhun.
In fact, she hadn’t even tasted anything earlier; she was so nervous her palms were sweaty, and she swallowed it down forcefully.
But seeing Yu Xiuzhun glaring at her persistently really felt like a needle in her back.
If she didn’t do something, she feared she’d be scared to the point of a cardiac arrest.
"..."
Yu Xiuzhun’s body stiffened for a moment, then he looked down at the steak she was offering and his eyes flickered a bit.
He looked up, noticing her nervous expression.
For some reason, the anger that had filled Yu Xiuzhun dissipated into nothingness.
He lowered his head and bit into the steak she brought to his lips.
Watching Ye Mingmei heave a sigh of relief, he silently mouthed two words.
"What did you say?" Ye Mingmei only saw his lips move, didn’t hear his words, and was a bit puzzled.
"I said, you’re an idiot!" Yu Xiuzhun growled fiercely.
"o(╯□╰)o..."
If she’d known, she wouldn’t have asked, bringing the torment on herself.
Ye Mingmei retracted her fork, lowered her head, and silently continued eating her own steak.
She was so tense she forgot her fork had just fed Yu Xiuzhun, and she continued eating with it.
