Chapter 137: Song Tianyu and Song Kui (Part - 2)

"You are unbecoming to be the next Patriarch, and you have officially lost your mind if you think we will let you throw away our clan’s future for some street trash!"

"We cannot trust him with the clan’s future anymore, Patriarch. His brain has clearly been corrupted by some demonic rogue cultivator!" another elder screamed, demanding that Tianyu be thrown into the punishment hall and chained to a wall so he couldn’t escape.

"I don’t even want to be the Patriarch of this cowardly family anyway!" Song Tianyu roared right back at them, as he slammed his fist onto his chair and unleashed all the bitter frustration he had been holding back for years.

"I am sick of living in a gilded cage and counting spirit stones day and night," Tianyu yelled fiercely, his eyes blazing with anger, "I want to leave this boring town and journey through the continents."

"I want to fight strong opponents until my bones break, and I want to finally feel the fresh breath of freedom instead of dying a slow death behind a merchant’s desk!"

But while he thought his family, at least his father would understand him, his rebellious words only made the clan elders even more furious, making them blame him for abandoning his bloodline as they prepared to subdue the treasonous young master right there in the hall, and beat some sense into his corrupt brain

But just as the chaos reached its boiling point, the heavy bronze doors of the Council Hall burst wide open with a massive crash that shook the entire building to its foundation.

"Who the fuck dares to interrupt our clan meeting without permission?!" the Second Elder lashed out, violently spinning around and raising his sword to slaughter the insolent guard who dared to open the doors.

But the threat died in his throat as his eyes widened in terror, and his spirit sword slipped right out of his trembling fingers to clatter uselessly onto the stone floor when he stared at the imposing figure standing in the doorway.

"Eee... Eeel..."

It was Elder Song Kui standing at the entrance of the hall, radiating a suffocating Nascent Soul aura that instantly crushed the air right out of the room.

And the second the sect elder stepped into the hall, every single clan elder and even Patriarch Song Tianming threw themselves out of their chairs.

Without any if and but, they hit the floor as they immediately kowtowed and pressed their sweaty foreheads directly against the cold stone tiles to greet the supreme expert with shivering respect.

"We greet the great elder Song Kui... We welcome you to the Song Clan."

Every single person in the room was groveling on the floor, except for Song Tianyu, who simply stood tall and straight, maintaining his proud posture as he clasped his hands forward and offered a deep, respectful bow to greet the senior.

Elder Song Kui ignored the elders groveling at his boots, and keeping his hands clasped behind his back, he kept on walking with thudding slow steps until he stopped directly in front of Song Tianyu.

Elder Kui stared down at Song Tianyu for a tense moment as his sharp eyes seemingly peered right through Tianyu’s flesh to examine his very soul, before he nodded with a satisfied expression on his face.

"I can see... You have that fire burning inside of you, boy... You are just like me... Defiant," Elder Song Kui stated as his voice carried unquestionable authority, "Go pack your things immediately. You are going to come with me to the White Bone Hall."

As they heard Song Kui’s offer, everyone in the room held their breath and they stayed frozen on the stone floor.

Their minds raced with a chaotic mix of shock, bitter envy, and pure greed since this was the exact opportunity they had been begging for.

Patriarch Song Tianming’s eyes widened before a calculating glint flashed across his pupils, thinking to himself, ’If Tianyu joins the White Bone Hall under Elder Song Kui’s wing, no one in this valley will dare to touch us.’

Meanwhile, the Second Elder gritted his teeth and pressed his forehead harder against the tiles to hide his jealousy, cursing internally, ’Why does this ungrateful brat get handed a golden ticket?’

The rest of the groveling elders were already plotting their next moves to exploit the situation, as the Third Elder quickly planned in his head, ’I need to send premium pills to Tianyu’s courtyard tonight, and I must find a way to flatter Elder Song Kui before they leave for the White Bone Hall.’

And while everyone else was busy plotting their next move, Song Tianyu finally broke the heavy silence as he clasped his hands again and bowed even lower.

"Elder Song Kui, I deeply appreciate your generous offer and I feel truly humbled that a supreme expert like you recognizes my potential, but..."

"But I cannot accept your proposal to join the White Bone Hall."

Elder Song Kui did not say a single word in response, simply staring down at the boy with unreadable eyes, but the clan elders absolutely lost their minds as they heard Gu Fan and immediately lashed out at him again.

"You ungrateful, brainless animal!" the Second Elder screamed, practically pulling his own hair out in pure fury because the boy had just rejected a Nascent Soul expert to his face.

"Tianyu, don’t be rash!" Patriarch Song Tianming yelled out in sheer panic, desperate to salvage the situation as he pleaded, "Apologize to the Elder right now and accept his grace!"

But before the Patriarch or the screaming elders could even take another step forward, Elder Song Kui casually raised his wrinkled hand, instantly releasing a suffocating wave of pressure that forced the entire room to shut up and freeze in place.

"Is this your final decision, boy?" Elder Song Kui asked coldly, his voice rumbling through the hall.

"It is, Elder," Song Tianyu replied calmly, keeping his posture perfectly straight since his mind was made up.

"My Dao heart is already set, and I have already sworn a binding blood oath to follow my new big brother, so I cannot break my word even for the heavens."

Elder Song Kui narrowed his eyes dangerously for a long, tense moment, as if peering directly into the boy’s soul to weigh his resolve, before he slowly nodded his head.

"Very well," the sect elder stated simply, completely dropping the matter without any anger as he immediately turned around on his heel.

Without sparing a single glance at the groveling clan elders, Elder Song Kui marched straight out of the heavy bronze doors, leaving the Patriarch and the elders watching his retreating back with incredibly complicated, despairing emotions, while Song Tianyu remained standing in the center of the hall, still bowing deeply in the elder’s direction.

"You have a good heart, boy!" Song Kui’s voice echoed behind him.

"Don’t die soon enough."

"Let’s have a cup of tea with you and your brother some day."
