Chapter 421: 421. Dream Walking - 1
"How is her condition?"
William’s gaze remained fixed on Seraphine’s unconscious face as he asked Orion.
She looked peaceful on the surface, almost as though she were merely sleeping after a tiring day, but the violent events that had just occurred told a completely different story. The sight of her lying motionless on the floor filled him with unease.
[She is trapped inside a dream. The situation appears to be connected to the physique she is currently awakening. Based on my calculations, the spirit of a previous predecessor of that physique seems to be responsible.]
William’s eyes narrowed slightly. "So she is awakening an ancient physique?"
It was not really a question. The answer had already formed in his mind the moment Orion explained the situation.
[That is the most likely explanation. As Kevin mentioned earlier, ancient physiques are often connected to powerful figures from ancient eras. In some rare cases, remnants of those individuals remain with the physique. ]
[ Most of the time those remnants are harmless and fade away naturally, but occasionally complications occur when the lingering consciousness possesses motives that it wishes to pass on to the next successor.]
William remained silent for several moments while processing the information.
His gaze shifted toward the enormous World Tree outside the window. Earlier, several of its massive branches had twisted and reacted to Seraphine’s awakening, but now they were gradually returning to their original positions as though nothing unusual had happened.
The sight caused his expression to darken. "The World Tree is responsible for determining what physiques are awakened."
His voice was calm, but there was clear suspicion hidden beneath it.
"If that is true, then something doesn’t add up. An entity should not have been able to interfere before the physique had even fully awakened."
His eyes returned to Seraphine. "She hasn’t even completed the awakening process, yet something from inside the physique has already begun affecting her."
The more he thought about it, the stranger the entire situation appeared.
[At this point there is only one practical solution. You need to enter her dream and deal with the entity directly.]
William slowly nodded. Without wasting another second, he carefully slipped one arm beneath Seraphine’s shoulders and another beneath her knees before lifting her into his arms.
Selena, kevin and sera’s girlfriends immediately followed him as he left the hall with sera in his arms.
Their expressions were filled with worry. Nobody knew exactly what was happening, but everyone understood that the situation with seraphine was complicated.
The journey to her room was completed in complete silence. When they finally arrived, William stopped outside the door and turned around and told them to stay outside.
Only Selena was allowed to enter. The moment they stepped into the room, William gently placed Seraphine on her bed before turning toward Selena.
"She’s trapped inside her dreams."
The words immediately drained the color from Selena’s face.
"Oh heavens..."
Her voice trembled. "How did something like this happen?"
William raised a hand. "We can discuss that later. Right now there is something more important."
His calm tone forced Selena to focus.
"I am going to enter Seraphine’s dream and help her deal with whatever is inside." Selena stared at him. Before she could respond, William continued.
"I need you to stay here and make sure nobody enters this room. If anything unusual happens, I need you to separate my hand from Seraphine’s immediately."
Selena’s confusion only deepened.
Unfortunately, William did not have time to explain everything.
The Dream Invader ability from the Divine Lunar Sovereign Physique allowed him to enter the dreams of other beings.
In the discription, the ability sounded incredibly powerful but there was a line mentioning that he should only enter entites with similar or lower strength than him.
Because there were some complications in case he wanted to enter a stronger entity’s mind. The description only mentioned that he could freely invade the dreams of those weaker than or equal to him.
That was only part of the truth. He could also enter the dreams of stronger entities. The problem was what happened afterward.
If William entered a dream realm where another will possessed greater authority than his own, there was a very real possibility that he could become trapped forever.
His physical body would remain behind in a comatose state while his consciousness remained imprisoned inside the dream world.
Even Orion considered the risk dangerous though there was technically a solution if such a scenario occurred. The soulmate mark connecting him to Tamasya could potentially resolve the problem.
However, the process required was cruel enough that William never wanted any of his loved ones to experience it. That was why he had already brought Tamasya out of the Domain of Infinite.
When she arrived and saw the situation, her expression immediately changed.
"William, what happened?"
There was no time for lengthy explanations. "Okay, I don’t have much time." William spoke as quickly as possible.
"I’m entering Seraphine’s dream. If i fail to come back out in time and I become trapped, then I need you to kill me and revive me afterward."
The room immediately exploded with reactions.
"What?!"
Selena and Tamasya shouted simultaneously. Their voices echoed throughout the room. William raised both hands.
"Not much time. I’ll explain later."
Tamasya looked as though she was about to explode. "I need you to explain yourself right now, William!" Instead of answering, William stepped forward and pulled her into a brief embrace.
The sudden gesture interrupted her completely. "Don’t panic."
His voice softened. "I’ll be fine. I was only describing the worst possible outcome."
The reassurance helped very little. Tamasya’s worry remained obvious last time he had said such a thing he had fought a gold level being and ended up having a massive sword piercing straight through his mana core, at the end it was tamasya who had to do the hard opart of taking out that sword by cutting through his flesh with bare hands.
Tamasya dreaded another experience like that.
