Chapter 48: Ch 48: Grimblade Is Back

Raidan returned to Nadia’s house. But the memory of that statue still lingered in his mind.

He still remembered the promise he made to Fallen Sun Village.

He rembered how he raised as a orphan there.

Apollo, the name felt Foreign now. Unconsciously he was avoiding to use that name. He was forgetting he had a identity in this world too. And maybe a family too.

But how could it related to be the Sun God’s?

Is he part of a dramatic Reincarnation plot? Or is he just failed product his parents discarded?

There was no answers.

But he couldn’t stay idly by. If he wamted to discover all that msyetris he neded to be storng.

And that method is right with him.

The Quest Creation System and SSS-Rank Multiplier System.

The Karmic Debt was a problem but no to the point of unbearable.

"System, from today, place all the Karmic Debt On Me. My friends and Family shouldn’t bear this curse."

The System replied, "Host’s emotional thinking is too shallow. Still, the System shall do what he command. But please be aware, you can only assign 5 Quests a day without suffering any backlash. After that, if host assigns more quests, misfortune shall follow."

"I can take it," Raidan replied coldly.

After a while, when Naida finished her work in the apothecary shop and found Raidan staring blankly at the mirror.

He was like a solitary picture inside an open frame.

With tiptoed steps, she went forward and hugged him from behind.

Her delicate arms wrapped around his waist, and the sudden warmth of her body pressed against his back pulled Raidan out of his deep trance.

He looked at their reflection in the mirror.

Naida rested her chin softly against his broad shoulder, her emerald green eyes filled with quiet concern.

"What are you thinking about so deeply?" she whispered.

Raidan placed his large hands over hers. Then he let out a long sigh. He had promised to share his life with her, which meant he could no longer hide the shadows of his past.

"I was thinking about where I came from. I never knew my real parents. I was raised as an orphan in a remote place called the Fallen Sun Village. I was only told my name is Apollo."

Naida looked up at him through the mirror, listening intently without interrupting.

"The village is not a normal place," Raidan continued, "It is plagued by a terrible curse. The lands are completely barren, and the people suffer under an eternal, suffocating twilight. The sun never truly shines there. Before I left, the village elders gave me a sacred task. They believed I was somehow connected to the divine. They told me I had to travel to Olympus, find the Sun God, and plead with him to finally lift the curse that has been slowly killing our people for generations."

He paused, gripping her small hands a little tighter.

"Today, I went to the Sun God’s Shrine to pay off your grandfather’s debt. While I was inside the main hall, I looked up at the grand statue of the Sun God. And I found something surprising Naida: the face of the Sun God... it looks exactly like mine. It was like staring into a giant, stone mirror."

"Huh! Really?!!" Naida’s arms tightened around his waist.

She did not call him crazy or doubt his words. Instead, she stepped back just enough to turn him around gently so she could look directly into his eyes.

With gentle grace, she said,

"Whether you are Apollo of the Fallen Sun Village, or Raidan who saved my life, you are still the man I promised to marry.

We will figure out this grand mystery together. You do not have to carry the responsibility of an entire cursed village all by yourself anymore."

Raidan looked down at her determined face, and unknowingly a smile formed on his face. He pulled her into a proper embrace, feeling the heavy burden in his heart lighten just a little bit.

--

Later in the afternoon, Raidan took on the face of Master Grimblade and headed to the same place where he first started his journey as a Quest Assigner.

He did not forget the quest he had given to the little boy, Leo. It was stuck at a 99% completion rate. All he needed to do was deliver the 20 silver coins, as they were physical rewards. He also needed to accept the materials he had asked for.

As for that girl Fiona, her progress was at 85%.

He was not worried about her. Her quest was about investigating the Crimson Graveyard Cult and finding a way to destroy the Forbidden Summoning Scroll.

Her [ Rewards: ] +2,500 EXP, +3 ATK, +3 DEF

All her rewards were non-materialistic, so the quest would be completed once she finished it within the 72-hour timeframe. She still had another day to complete it.

Standing beside the same female stall owner, holding the same Mythril Blade, he mimicked a veteran swordmaster.

The fat lady glanced at him once, and then recognition flashed in her eyes.

"Master Warrior, there was a boy yesterday who was searching for you. He seemed desperate to meet you, even calling you Master Grimblade," she informed him.

"Oh, thank you for letting me know. Will he be coming today? Did the boy tell you anything about that?" Raidan asked, dropping his reserved persona.

The lady replied,

"Yes. He told me he will be coming today and to let you know."

"Ah, that is good then. Do not mind us, please. I am just trying to train the boy a little differently," he awkwardly tried to explain.

The lady shrugged kindly. "I do not mind at all, Master Grimblade. I enjoy your presence beside my shop a lot. And recently there has been a new wave of adventurers seeking information about you. They buy a loaf or two of bread from me. So all in all, it is no bother at all."

Raidan could only laugh at this.
