Chapter 326 Rose's Request

"Let me check my phone, and then we can head back to your school," Layla said, making her way to where she had left her phone.

Upon checking it, she discovered missed calls from both her mother and Rose. Instead of calling her mother back first, Layla decided to return Rose's call.

As Layla dialed Rose's number, her younger sister picked up almost immediately, her voice tinged with a mix of relief and urgency. "Oh thank God! Where have you been, Sister Layla?"

"I was with Rio," Layla replied, trying to sound reassuring despite her own mixed feelings.

"Is it true what everyone's saying?" Rose asked hesitantly, her voice trembling.

"What exactly are they saying, Rose?" Layla inquired gently.

"That... that Grandfather kidnapped you and Big Brother Rio fought him to rescue you?" Rose's voice was filled with concern and disbelief.

"Yes, it's true," Layla admitted softly, a hint of sadness in her voice, as the media had spread the sensational news of her abduction by Ambrose Havenglow.

Rose fell silent, absorbing the shocking information. She found it hard to believe that her beloved grandfather had actually kidnapped her older sister and that the boy who was a year older than her, had defeated the old man. Although she had heard about it from the media, hearing it from her older sister confirmed her doubts.

After a moment, Rose asked softly, her voice cracking, "Sister Layla, will you come to see me? I really... really want to see you." There was a longing in her voice as she cared about her older sister and wanted to meet her after so many things had happened.

"Don't Worry, Rose. I'll visit you in a few hours," Layla reassured her, her voice filled with warmth and affection for her younger sister.

"Yay! I'll be waiting!" Rose exclaimed, her voice bursting with joy as she eagerly wanted to meet Layla.

As the young girl hung up the phone, she hurriedly rushed to inform her mother and prepare for the special day ahead. After all, the older daughter of the house was going to visit, and everything had to be perfect.

Meanwhile, Layla sighed after the call disconnected, wondering how she would meet her family when she returned home.

She glanced at the boy whose eyes were glued to his phone screen, scanning through a list of missed calls from several familiar names, including Lucas, Sophia, his second mother, and Rose. His eyebrows furrowed slightly as he hesitated for a moment before making a decision on whether to call back or not. Finally, he pocketed his phone without returning any of the calls just yet.

Layla found it amusing how Rio decided to ignore all his calls, acting like a real anti-social person. It reminded her of how he was in the past, as she had to coax the little boy to befriend her by telling him they had a similar story and were both orphans.

Rio looked up and Layla spoke in a serene and loving tone, "Let's head to the school first, and after that, we can visit Rose at home."

His eyes turned icy when Layla mentioned going back home, as he didn't want to return to that place. However, the thought of meeting Rose, who had no fault in their past, made him reconsider.

He nodded in agreement, and together, they stepped out of the apartment. The world outside greeted them with a vibrant day; the sun beamed down from the sky, casting a warm, golden glow that seemed to celebrate their reunion.

The sound of their footsteps mingled with the distant hum of traffic and the chirping of birds as they walked to the car. The door closed behind them with a satisfying click, and they drove towards the school.

As they navigated through the streets and approached the school, Layla confidently steered the car toward the school gate. Upon reaching it, she didn't hesitate to drive straight through, just as Aliyah had done before. The tires crunched against the gravel as they pulled up in front of the school office building.

Nyla stood there, a lively expression etched across her adorable face, waiting for their arrival. The sun cast a warm glow on the scene, illuminating the excited faces of the students gathered around her.

The sudden appearance of a car within the school grounds drew the attention of the students. Excited whispers and exclamations filled the air as they speculated who could have the audacity to drive directly to the school office building.

"Is that the Havenglow car?" one student said.

"It must be someone important," another chimed in.

Rio glanced out of the window and noticed a small crowd forming near Nyla, including Lucas and Sophia. It seemed that word had spread, and they were eager to see who Nyla was waiting for.

As the car door swung open with a soft creak, Rio and Layla stepped out into the light. The students watched in awe as the couple emerged, their shadows stretching out before them.

"I knew it! It's Rio Havenglow and our Goddess Layla!" a boy whispered excitedly to his friend.

"Wow, so the rumors were true," someone else muttered.

The murmurs grew louder, confirming the rumors that had circulated about Rio and Layla's childhood betrothal and their recent tale in the land of Asura against Ambrose Havenglow, who was their grandfather.

"Can you believe they went through all that together?" a student whispered in disbelief.

"They really must be meant for each other," another student replied, marveling at the couple.

The sight of Rio and Layla, standing side by side, only served to solidify the truth in the minds of the onlookers: these two were childhood lovers and had been engaged since childhood, which suggested that they were destined to be together.
