Tungmei moved her gaze away from her phone to glance at her. The next second, she squinted her eyes to study Zhang Liling properly before concluding, 'She is drunk!'
Zhang Liling's face was a light shade of red, but her eyes still looked focused, but Tungmei couldn't trust that.
"Liling, I have to leave in a few minutes."
Zhang Liling heard that and asked with a disappointed gaze, "Why so soon?"
"We have spent 6 hours together. It's 6:30 pm already, and I have to stop by the convenience store to buy some cup noodles. Thanks for the house-warming party. I will help you clear up this place before leaving."
'It's already 6:30?!' A bomb blew off in Zhang Liling's head as she hurriedly put down her can of beer to pick up her phone.
She didn't know that she had stayed out for so long. Calculating the time with her remaining senses, she figured that it would take her half an hour to get back to Mr. Fang's place.
Tungmei went on to clean up the living room without noticing anything wrong with her.
"Liling, I'm leaving right away!" Tungmei said after cleaning up.
Zhang Liling who has been patiently waiting for her to leave so she could also be on her way back to Mr. Fang's house, waved goodbye to her and saw her to the door.
Immediately she closed the door, she scurried back to her room to pick up her bag. She found her phone in the living room, picked it up and put it inside her bag.
She was feeling slightly dizzy, but that was not important. What was important, was making sure that she got to Mr. Fang's place before 7 pm.
Just as she turned to leave, she saw the remaining can of beer and picked it up. It appeared like Tungmei didn't see it to put it away.
Zhang Liling quickly picked it up, turned off the lights before leaving her apartment. While in a hurry, she was also careful not to run into any wall.
She needed to find a cab so she could rest her slightly throbbing head. She was almost on the verge of not seeing properly.
Luckily for her, she saw a cab that just drove into the premises. She quickly hurried over, and when the passenger got down from the cab, she quickly stepped in.
"Driver, take me to *********"
"Cabs are not allowed into the estate. I will stop at the entrance, is that okay with your miss?" The young driver asked.
"It's fine by me, here..." Zhang Liling passed the can of beer in her hand to him.
The driver smiled brightly and took it from her. Keeping it in the penguin hole beside him, he thanked her and ignited the car's engine before driving off.
Some minutes later, the car pulled over at the entrance of the estate before glancing at Zhang Liling through the rear-view mirror.
Zhang Liling looked like she was already fast asleep.
"Miss, we have arrived at your destination!" The driver announced, but his tone was not high enough to wake Zhang Liling, so he leaned towards the back and stretched out an arm to tap her on the shoulder.
"Miss, we have arrived!" He announced again. This time around, Zhang Liling opened her eyes slightly before sitting up and looking around her surroundings.
Seeing that she was still out of it, with the deep shade of red on her cheeks, the driver guessed that she was drunk, but went on to kindly inform her of their arrival.
"Thank you!" Zhang Liling said before struggling to get out of the car which surprised the driver because she was still yet to pay her fare.
The young driver had to remind her about her fare before she came back to her senses for a brief moment to pay.
How Zhang Liling made it to Mr. Fang's villa was a big testimony. By the time she stepped into the house, she met face to face with the butler who was coming down the stairs.
"Miss Zhang?" Butler Gu called out in shock when he saw how brightly lit her face was. More importantly, she smelled like she poured an entire can of beer on her body.
"Huh! But... Are you the butler?" Zhang Liling asked while trying to make out the face before her. Her sight was blurry, so she had to lean a little forward, but Butler Gu avoided her like a parasite.
Butler Gu asked after taking two steps backwards, as his nose wrinkled in discontentment. "Miss Zhang, you came back drunk?" You really have a lot of guts.
Zhang Liling was too out of it to be offended by Butler Gu's action. "You mean me?" She asked while pointing at herself. "I don't think I'm drunk. I'm just a little tipsy from drinking with Tungmei. That girl refused to drink more than 2 cans, and I had no choice but to finish the remaining cans of beer since I didn't want them to spoil! Oh! And I gave one to the cab driver who brought me back!_
Zhang Liling said the last sentence while chuckling like a fool. She has really lost her senses.
So many thoughts were going through Butler Gu's head while listening to her.
'You don't think you are drunk?'
'Who is Tungmei?'
'Are you a drunkard?'
'How could cans of beer spoil so easily? Did you drink the one that was going to expire in a week?'
'Who knows how many cans of beer you ended up drinking. Just wait till Mr. Fang finds out!'
"Miss Zhang, please go into your bedroom before Mr. Fang sees you, he is yet to have his dinner," Butler Gu advised.
"Oh! Thank you!" Zhang Liling replied with a smile and then bowed slightly, but almost fell forward.
The butler was amazed and really wanted to watch her get into her bedroom, but he was distracted with a chime sound coming from the laundry room and had to go take care of it.
"Miss Zhang, make sure you go into your bedroom, and don't come out till morning."
"Oh!" Zhang Liling said with her eyes half-closed, and only proceeded to continue in her steps when he went away.
Instead of taking a turn when she got to the stairs area, she pictured Butler Gu when he was coming down the stairs at the time she had just stepped into the house.
She changed her mind about taking a turn, and just when on to hold the rail while taking the stairs. "Why did he come out from here? Has he relocated upstairs?"
Zhang Liling thought that Butler Gu now had a room upstairs because she saw him coming down from the stairs, and decided to go and check things out for herself in her drunken state.
