"What?! You are at the police station? What did you do? Who put you there?!" Bolin asked in shock as soon as heard from Zhang Liling that she was at the police station.
Mr. Fang who didn't look interested in the call, suddenly perked up his ears to listen to the conversation with a black lines appearing on his forehead.
He had heard Bolin mentioning 'Miss Zhang' when he had answered the call earlier, so he knew that he was speaking with Zhang Liling.
Right now, he was very interested in knowing the answers to the same questions Bolin had just asked.
Zhang Liling glanced toward Shu Rushi's direction with hatred before moving her gaze away just before the detective could see it.
Zhang Liling hurriedly explained how she landed at the station because if Shu Rushi causing trouble, while Bolin listened calmly.
After explaining, Zhang Liling added with a soft tone, "Mr. Bolin, you are the only I could call since my family will cause a lot of trouble for me if they were to hear about this. I don't have anyone else to call, and please don't tell this to Mr. Fang, or he will be so disappointed with me."
The corner of Bolin's lips twitched a bit as he turned his head to meet Mr. Fang's gaze. Immediately, he shifted his gaze back to the road while thinking, 'Too late!'
There was now way Mr. Fang wouldn't hear about it. Someone that was in the same space with him at the time of the call, and he was the same person that was staring at him, probably waiting for him to finish the call and report back to him.
"Miss Zhang, I will be there to bring you out, hold on for a few minutes." That was the only thing he could say to her before ending the conversation.
Zhang Liling thanked him before going back to her seat.
Immediately after ending the conversation with her, Bolin didn't need Mr. Fang to ask him any questions before spilling the entire conversation with Zhang Liling.
"She got into a fight? Is she a wild cat or what?!" Mr. Fang asked with a frosty gaze.
'Mr. Fang, even domestic cats get into fights.' Bolin thought to himself as he swallowed hard before saying to him...
"Mr. Fang, we need to go over ourselves since she called."
Mr. Fang didn't say anything to him, but he was already imagining Zhang Liling getting into a fight at a departmental store because of a bag.
He couldn't imagine me fighting for a shoe or a tie at a store, so he was wondering while women had to fight over things like that.
Nit just that, it was the guts Zhang Liling had to cause trouble and land herself at the police station before calling for help.
She was working under him and the audacity to cause that kind of commotion, was she tired of living or what?
About Shu Rushi looking for trouble in the first place, he had no comments. He already knew that Shu Rushi was far from being a well-bred daughter. He had no hopes and nothing to do with her, so he was not concerned about her.
"Turn the car around, and go straight to ****** police station."
Although Mr. Fang didn't give the approval, Bolin knew better on what to do at that situation.
After giving the command, he went in to dial Chuanli's contact as the driver turned the car around.
"Dr. Li, there is an emergency at the moment, we can't make it to the time that was scheduled."
Bolin had to notify Chuanli who was already waiting for them in his office, since it was not possible to make it at that time because of 'rescuing' Zhang Liling.
"What!" Chuanli was not in the best mood after hearing that. He has been smiling from ear to ear while checking his wall clock for the past few minutes only for his high hopes to be cut off so ruthlessly.
Bolin went on to ask, "Does Bingwen have something against me or what? How could he do this to me? I have been waiting for him for the past 2 hours! What kind of emergency did he have?!"
Bolin was tongue-tied about what to tell him, and that was when he heard Mr. Fang's cold voice from behind.
"Tell him to come and pick up at my villa from the next 30 minutes."
Bolin sighed in relief before quickly relaying the message to Chuanli. On the other hand, Chuanli heard Fang Bingwen's cold voice from the background and lost his anger.
"Is everything alright with my friend? Who dares to anger him?"
"Dr. Li thanks for your concern, we will deal with the person immediately. Then, see you in half an hour," Bolin said and ended the call immediately.
Through out the ride to the police station, nobody dared to say a word apart from the time Mr. Fang asked Bolin to call one of his personal lawyers to go and settle the CCTV footage from the store that Shu Rushi and Zhang Liling fought.
When Zhang Liling returned to her seat, she rolled her eyes at Shu Rushi before facing the detective. "Detective, someone will be here to pick me up soon."
"That's good." The detective said and clapped his hands together. He didn't even make any attempt to leave their sight because they two young ladies in front of him looked like they wouldn't hesitate to get into another fight if they saw the chance.
A minute later, Shu Rushi's family lawyer arrived to settle her own side of the matter. After settling her part of the bills and signing some documents the detective brought forth, he bowed to Zhang Liling to apologize on Shu Rushi's behalf, since the latter refused to do so.
Zhang Liling snorted and left them.
On her way out with her lawyer, Shu Rushi scolded him. "Why did you have to bow to her? We didn't offend her."
"Miss, please get into the car." The middle-aged man said while pointing at the car he parked in front of the building. He didn't have the strength to respond to her.
Shu Rushi had no choice but to listen to him. She sighed and got into the back seat of the car with her arms folded below her chest.
