"Mum!"

Zhang Liling couldn't believe her eyes as she instantly withdrew from Fang Bingwen's embrace.

"Aunty." Fang Bingwen looked equally surprised seeing Song Jujing in the room.

When did she get back?

Staring between the couple she had rudely interrupted, Song Jujing cleared her throat, choosing to overlook it.

Giving Zhang Liling one more glance as if to transmit a hidden message through it, she turned her back to them, leading the way to the living room.

"Won't you come in and sit?" She suggested without stopping in her steps.

Although her statement sounded like a suggestion, she didn't mean it. She actually didn't leave them any choice but to follow her.

"Mr. Fang, I think you should leave." Zhang Liling whispered while on the lookout for the spot her mother disappeared from.

She wasn't sure of how they were both going to get scolded hence, she made that kind of suggestion.

Besides, the look her mother gave her, suggested she was suspecting that she had lied to her by denying that she wasn't sleeping with Fang Bingwen.

Already catching them engaging in a passionate kiss was enough for her trust to be broke.

Although not all that glitters was gold, she knew that her explanation would fall on deaf ears.

Would she simply believe that they were only caught in the spur of the moment?

Seeing as they travelled to another country together and not waiting for any separation between them, they were already kissing like that as soon as the door shut before them.

Surely anything Song Jujing thought about them wouldn't be bad even if it might be a huge misunderstanding.

"No. It will be disrespectful to leave. We should go inside."

Fang Bingwen was a bit embarrassed being caught by his future mother-in-law in that act.

Would she believe that the 'him' she saw now, was not the usual 'him' on a normal day?

Not waiting for Zhang Liling to try and persuade him to sneak away, he took her luggage and walked ahead.

He was not a coward.

He was going to marry her soon and by running away, what was he trying to prove to he rmother?

Even without words, he would be simply telling her that he was not a reliable man.

Seeing that he wanted to face her mother head-on, Zhang Liling could only follow behind him.

On getting to the living area, Fang Bingwen stopped and handed the bag to her. "I thank you should go and keep it in the room."

Taking the bag from him, Zhang Liling looked suspiciously at him. 'Is he sending me away? Seems like he is not afraid of my mother.'

"Go." Fang Bingwen mouthed before stepping into the living room properly.

Greeting Song Jujing who wouldn't stop following his every movement with her gaze, he proceeded to ask about her trip.

"Aunty, how was the show?"

"It was interesting, but I could not be compared with the one I saw a few seconds ago." Song Jujing said without breaking the gaze as Mr. Fang touched his nose nervously.

He could see how his future mother-in-law hadn't changed her facial expression and knew that he had to out an end to that matter.

"Aunty, I am sorry about the scene earlier. We didn't mean to be disrespectful, it's just that we didn't know you were home."

Hearing that, Song Jujing raised a brow as she was surprised with his response.

In summary, was he telling her that he was only wrong for kissing her daughter in front of her?

She was speechless.

On the other hand, Fang Bingwen didn't seem that bothered with his response as he didn't see the need to apologize for kissing Zhang Liling.

They were both adults, plus they were engaged to be married soon so, his actions were not wrong.

Song Jujing was tempted to question him till he got nervous, but because she was not someone of that personality, she decided to drop the act and go straight to the point.

"When is the wedding? Have you both fixed a date yet?"

Seeing that she had changed the topic, Fang Bingwen felt settled and quickly went on to respond to her.

"Not yet. Liling and I haven't talked about it."

"My daughter shouldn't take in before the wedding." Song Jujing said, startling him at the same time.

Finally he had the opportunity to have a taste of the same medicine she had been feeding Zhang Liling.

"Aunty, that's not going to happen. Liling and I haven't taken that step yet, and it won't happen until after the wedding."

He was not going to let her have a misconception about their relationship, and his reputation.

"I can finally be relieved to get this assurance form you." Song Jujing said as a smile finally appeared on her face.

Just then, they both had the incoming footsteps and guessed that Zhang Liling was on her way there. Quickly, she changed the topic.

"I will be leaving for Paris after the board meeting at Zhang Corp this weekend." She announced.

"Will you take me along?" Zhang Liling who heard her statement, quickly asked as she cane to sit next to her.

"Yes. I plan to introduce you to the board members as I have already transferred half of my shares to you." Song Jujing revealed.

Smiling, she added, "My lawyer will bring the document soon."

Knowing that she had somehow become a big deal, Zhang Liling couldn't stop herself from smiling.

Finally, she got to have this privilege because of her mother.

Now she was waiting for a certain person's reaction when she finds out.

"Mum, if you leave for Paris now, when next would you come back?" Zhang Liling couldn't help but ask.

She had really enjoyed her mother's company as her presence nearby was an assurance of the backbone she had supporting her.

"Your wedding."

A few minutes later, Fang Bingwen stood up to leave. He still had a bunch of people waiting downstairs for him.

Walking him up to the entrance, Zhang Liling couldn't help but give him that longing look. Although she wanted to embrace him, she couldn't as her mother was standing next to her.

"If anything comes up, put a call through me first." Fang Bingwen said before finally disappearing from their sight.

Letting out a sigh, Zhang Liling locked the door and made her way toward the living room.

"How was your trip?" Song Jujing asked.

Being reminded of how much she loved spending her time with her idol, Zhang Liling couldn't control herself from smiling.

"I'm sure I made my feelings known throughout my social media handles."

"I know, but are you not going to ask me about mine?" Sing Jujing inquired. 'Did she not care about the trip she went to?'

Shaking her head, she replied, "I know it went well."

"I don't know whose daughter you are anymore." Letting out a soft sigh, Song Jujing revealed about the matter with her father while she was away.

Listening for a while, Zhang Liling couldn't control her laughter.

"Is he jealous because he wasn't invited?"

Learning about her father's anger pertaining to she and her mother visiting the Fang family to chat, she didn't feel bad about it.

"He is bound to be, but he is right with his claims." Song Jujing replied while relaxing her back on the couch's backrest.

Zhang Liling almost rolled her eyes. "If he had been a good father, I wouldn't have exempted him. Besides, he is not in good terms with the Fang family, why is he now interested in being in that kind of meeting?"

"Because that is a powerful opportunity for him to exercise some rights as your father." Song Jujing chuckled.

She knew her ex very well. The man had a lot of pride, and having had Zhang Liling in his custody for over 4 years, he would want to exercise his right as her father in that kind of occasion.

That was the kind of man he was.

Speaking of Zhang Renshu, the man that had left the Zhang family home without letting anyone know his whereabouts, returned on this same day.

~Zhang Family's Mansion~

As soon as Zhang Renshu stepped out of the car, he directly walked into the house, ignoring the greetings from the servants.

But just as he was making his way along the hallway to go straight to his bedroom as one of his bodyguards tagged behind him with his luggage, he met Shi Wenqian walking toward him.

"You're back." Shi Wenqian acknowledged with a surprised expression on her face.

In actual sense, the housekeeper had quickly informed her of his return through a call as soon as Zhang Renshu drove in.

Without stopping in his steps, Zhang Renshu briefly glanced at her before going to stop in front of his bedroom door.

Pushing it open, he walked inside as if he hadn't ward her at all.

Seeing the way she was treated, Shi Wenqian scoffed and continued in her steps. She didn't care anymore.
