"I don't think so. It's more like she hid an information as important as this from her enemies." Mrs. Tang retorted while glaring at Zhang Xiaoling.
Aware of how her mother came to snatch another woman's husband, she couldn't help but to feel disgusted with her daughter-in-law.
And now, she was rubbing it on her face and letting her see what she exactly thought of her.
If her stepsister took her as a real close family, there was no way she would have hidden that kind of big act from her, which she was right about.
But saying that to her face, wasn't fine. She didn't care in the least.
Zhang Xiaoling being herself was unable to bear her mother-in-law's taunts.
Since when was she the one being bullied? She has always been the one to bully other people. And seeing the woman that didn't want to respect herself, she couldn't sit still anymore.
"Mother, I think your anger comes from your jealousy."
"What?" Mrs. Tang was stunned already, but that didn't stop Zhang Xiaoling from finishing her talk as Tang Enlai face-palmed his forehead.
"You must have been so furious to learn that I attended the very party you tried to ostracized me from. What happens to be the worst pain must have been my indifferent attitude to your little acts to make me jealous."
Standing to her feet, she glanced at Tang Enlai who didn't bother to look at any of them anymore to say, "I am not going to let anyone in this house insult me anymore when I did nothing wrong."
Saying that to her mother-in-law's face, she picked up her purse and trotted away.
"What? D-Did she just talk to me like that?" Mrs. Tang exclaimed in horror as she watched Zhang Xiaoling walk away without looking back.
The same moment, she shifted her gaze to her son. "Did you see the kind of I'll manners that girl has? Yet you sat here and watched her talk to your mother that way! Has your brains been eaten up by her evil influences?"
"Enough mother!" Tang Enlai said standing to his feet as his mother's attitude was getting out of hand.
His mother was already annoyed as it was with his wife's attitude and now, he was speaking to her in the same manner.
"Are you shouting at me?"
Ignoring her question, he threw one back to her. "Is your job to spread unhappiness?"
"Are you saying that I should have been unhappy alone?" She inquired while looking up to meet his gaze.
It was clear that she was admitting to her selfish acts. She was clearly unhappy and didn't want to go to bed without spreading it.
How ridiculous could she be?
But her son was not in the mood to indulge in her antics.
He was just returning from an event that didn't bring him anger, and instead of retiring to bed in that neutral mood, his mother decided to ruin it.
After the effort he put in to make Zhang Xiaoling happy after the insults that was rained on her, she came and ruined everything.
Now was he going to start work from the beginning because Zhang Xiaoling has had enough with his mother's acts?
"If you don't know how to contain your emotions without spreading the negative energy to the people living with you, then I would have to speak to Dad about it." He threatened without tearing his gaze off her.
"What do you mean?" His mother asked, as her brows contoured in a big frown.
She looked a little bit confused apart from being a little apprehensive as she did not know the next step he was planning to take by involving his father in this matter.
"Relax. I'm only going to let father know that I will be moving out with Zhang Xiaoling as the house can no longer contain us with you in it."
"What? Can you hear yourself? Are you two going to make me the villain?"
Tang Enlai refused to be bothered about her anymore as he shifted his gaze ahead, ready to leave her presence.
"What I did was to make the right demand. You are going to your 40's and you don't have any child yet although you married late. Shouldn't your plans be to start having a child?"
Taking in a deep breath, she continued, "Are you indulging your wife? I won't be surprised if there is no man out there that she likes given the basics of your marriage!"
Instantly, Tang Enlai tilted his head to the side to glare at her before looking ahead. Without uttering another word, he matched away.
This one really got to him and he couldn't hide it.
Truly, Zhang Xiaoling has not hidden that she liked Fang Bingwen from him, but what he didn't know now, was if she still haboured any feelings for him, or if she was now ready to build a relationship with him.
Whatever the answer was, he would have to sit and have a conversation with her in order to find out.
Mrs. Tang was left alone in the living room. Seeing that even her own son was not supporting her, her anger knew no bounds.
Glancing at the glass of water on the table before her, she was tempted to smash it, but she couldn't. Her petty acts hasn't gotten to that level.

As soon as Tang Enlai walked into the bedroom, he saw no one in sight and guessed that Zhang Xiaoling must have entered the closet or the bathroom.
Not wanting to clash with her since their relationship hasn't gotten to the point where they could see each other naked on in their undies.
Sighing to himself, he allowed his weight to sink into the bed as his thoughts began to moved in different directions.
The little act from his mother, just made him discover something important. He has not made up with his wife.
There had to be a clear distinction on where their marriage stood, and they required them to have a conversation.
If they talked out every detail concerning their marriage and where they both wanted it to head to, then, they can come to a right standing with each other.
Also, this would help to strengthen their relationship.
