By the time Mr. Fang returned back to the Villa, Zhang Liling was still looking for what to wear in her wardrobe full of clothes.
Alighting from his car, the first question Mr. Fang asked the butler, was, "Where is Zhang Liling?"
"Miss Zhang is still in her bedroom." Butler Gu replied after picking up his suitcase from the front passenger seat.
"????"
Instantly, Mr. Fang's brows crease. Glancing at his wristwatch, he frowned.
'What is she still dressing for?' he thought.
He was a little surprised that even after taking an extra 5 minutes because of a last minute work that forced the driver to speed on the way, as he was scared of keeping her waiting, she was still in her bedroom.
He had thought that she would be the one waiting for him, Alas! He was the one waiting for her now.
Sighing to himself, he walked ahead and proceeded to walk into the house before directly going up the stairs.
Since Zhang Liling seems to still be busy, he figured that he should have a shower and put on another set of clothes.
This would be killing two birds with one stone instead of waiting idly.
In one of the guest rooms on the ground floor, Zhang Liling was frantically searching for something.
She was almost on that verge of tears as she moved from one wardrobe to another in search of something in particular.
"Where is it?!" A half-scream tore from her lips as her hands moved quickly after each dress on the hanger.
Currently, she was dressed in only a white bathrobe as she walked about in barefeet. Her hair was up in a tight updo otherwise, it would have long come down with all the violent movement she has been making.
The walk-in closet was already in a hot mess, yet, her eyes could not see that. All that was in her mind, was finding the particular dress she was looking for.
After a few minutes more of searching with not result, she angrily pulled on her hair and let out a screech.
Her loud voice startled the butler who had already raised his fist to knock on her door.
He was taken aback by her scream as he paused for a second to pay attention.
'Did something happen to her?'
At that thought, his eyes widened in fear as he quickly brought his fist to knock on the door hurriedly.
He almost wanted to barge into the room if not for the training he had received. At least he had to knock first, and if there was no response, he would go and quickly get the housekeeper who would lead the way inside.
There was a female owner occupying the room, so he couldn't just push the door open like that, no matter what.
"Miss Zhang!" His urgent voice rang out which was followed by the sound made by the series of knocks from his fist against the door.
Zhang Liling was pulling her hair, when suddenly she stopped her ear- piercing noise as her ears perked up to listen.
"????"
She felt as if she heard a low muffled voice from outside, and with that feeling, she stepped out of the walk-in closet proper, and that was when she heard the familiar male voice calling out to her, plus the heavy pounding on the door.
Quickly, she moved in her steps and pulled the door open.
Seeing the anxious look on the man before her, her brows creased further in confusion.
"Butler Gu?"
Immediately, the Butler's gaze darted around her to see if she was fine before sighing in relief. But seeing her dressed in a bathrobe, he hurriedly brought his gaze to remain fixed on her face.
"Miss Zhang, are you alright? I heard you scream from inside."
"Oh! About that..." Zhang Liling started, but she was a bit embarrassed and paused for a moment before continuing with her gaze moving about.
"It's nothing. I was only feelig frustrated. You came to find me?" She probed with her eyes on him.
She concluded that he must have come to find her, and so was able to hear her scream from inside.
"Ah! Yes..." Butler Gu was suddenly reminded of the reason he had come to find her.
"Mr. Fang is back."
Instantly, a scream escaped from her parted lips. "What??!"
She couldn't believe that the man she was going on a date with was already back, and she was still dressed in a bathroom.
And the worst part of it all, was that she had still not found anything to wear.
Because of the particular outfit she was looking for, she lost track of time.
Currently, she didn't even know what the time was, and how late she was.
"He said you should be ready in 15 minutes." The butler said, completing the task he came for.
"Where is Mr. Fang?"
"Having a shower." He reported.
"Thank you," Zhang Liling said with a forced smile before walking back into her room.
While turning her closet upside down, she did not know the damage she was causing, but leaving the space and coming back in again, her mouth was forced open in agape.
Immediately she pushed the door open and saw the mess she created, she paused in her steps as her eyes widened in shock.
"I-I D-Did this... A-All for one dress?" She mumbled to herself as her heart raced in her chest.
How was she going to tidy up those piles of clothes that would need at least an hour to arrange?
If Mr. Fang learns of this, he wouldn't even bother with her. He would just cancel the date on her and go on to rest his head on his bed after a tiring day at work.
Being fully aware that there was no time to waste, she hurriedly bypassed the heaps of clothes littered on most of the floor space and went to her second closet to pick out a dress.
At the end, she chose a body-hug long sleeve dress with a round neck.
The dress was a little above her knees, but she didn't mind.
She was not revealing her cleavage, neck or arms, so Mr. Fang shouldn't have any reason to send her back.
Quickly, she got dressed and picked out a pair of red stilletos and a matching bag before going to sit on her vanity table to apply a light makeup on her face.
Her movements were very fluid as she tried to be as fast as possible, but would she still be faster than Mr. Fang who didn't have any reason to fuss about?
