"Can you stand by yourself?" Mr. Fang asked while peering at her face while still grasping her hand.

Now, he was treating her like a child. He was worried that she would fall because of the sleepiness that was yet to totally set her free.

"I'm fine," Zhang Liling replied softly as tiredness weighed on her shoulders.

'How come I feel so tired after sleeping for such a long time?' she thought, but then, a growl sound came from her stomach.

Immediately, Mr. Fang ordered her. "Go to the bathroom and wash your face with warm water. I will be here waiting for you."

Even thought her stomach had just protested, he couldn't let her come out looking like she hadn't rested enough.

"Okay," Zhang Liling replied as he released her hand before taking steady steps ahead.

The round lady who had been so eager to see her Mr. Fang, was the one almost reacting to his absence with indifference just because of sleep and tiredness.

"Watch your steps. Be careful not to slip on the tiles." He said after with furrowed brows.

Zhang Liling did not reply and just continued in her steps.

A few minutes later, she came out with her face a little brightened up after cleansing it with warm water.

Nodding in satisfaction, Mr. Fang said to her, "You look better. Now, come and put something in your stomach."

"Mr. Fang wait for me!" Zhang Liling said immediately before toward him.

"What is it?" He asked.

"I need to pick up my phone," she said as she walked past him.

When she picked it up, she turned to follow him out of the room.

While trying to turn her phone on, he warned her. "Watch your steps."

,m Finally when they got to the dining room, Mr. Fang sat at the head table while Zhang Liling sat at his right side.

After turning on her phone, she out it on the table before picking up her spoon to first scoop the soup from the bowl Mr. Fang had set in front of her.

Slurping the soup, she felt her insides start to warm up and went ahead to scoop more soup.

Watching her from his peripheral view whole serving himself, he said to her, "Don't just drink the soup, try the other dishes."

In obedience, she picked up her chopstick to pick the vegetable from the flat ceramic plate to eat before nodding in satisfaction.

"It's nicely cooked," she couldn't help but say in appreciation.

Remembering how she was freezing some minutes ago, Fang Bingwen brought it up because it looks like she was unaware of the danger.

"Next time, don't sleep off with the AC in the highest. If I hadn't gotten to you on time, it could have been another case."

Sighing, Zhang Liling replied, "I know. When I felt so cold, I was too tired to move, so I wrapped my body in the duvet while hoping that someone would come and turn it off. Who knew you would be the one."

In the middle of sleep, she had noticed how cold she was. It was too much that she would feel her bones chilling along with the room, but she didn't know the reason she was too weak to move.

The only think she could do for herself was to try her best to wrap herself up with the duvet next to you.

Pointing the pair of chopsticks in his hands at her, he said, "The you should thank me properly since I saved your life."

Immediately, Zhang Liling flashed him a smile while munching on the spoon of rice she had just sent into her mouth.

She didn't want to say anything with food in her mouth in order not to irritate him, but when she had swallowed the rice, she was now free to speak.

"Mr. Fang, you are my light in shining armour," she said flatteringly with a smile that reached her eyes.

Fang Bingwen scoffed, "Just est your food, don't say another word."

He didn't need that kind of thanks from her. It was even better if she finished her food in peace without choking.

Smiling sheepishly, Zhang Liling went back to eating her food but just when she was about to drink from her bowl of soup, she suddenly put it down to check the time on her phone.

"Oh no! I forgot about the gifts I came back with."

She had just remembered that she was supposed to distribute some gifts to the Butler and the Housekeeper after taking a nap.

Unfortunately, the nap turned into a very deep sleep, and she can only blame herself.

Seeing that she didn't look like she was going to finish the rest of her food in peace, Mr. Fang who normally liked to eat quietly, engaged her in a conversation.

"How is your mother now?"

He was still unaware of the latest happenings since Zhang Liling came back without prior notice, hence he was concerned.

"Why is everyone concerned about my mother and not me?" Zhang Liling asked wih her brows pulling close together.

There was a hint of annoyance in her tone that didn't fail to go unnoticed by Fang Bingwen.

"What is wrong with you? Is it wrong to ask about your mother? Did she finish her chemotherapy sections before you decided to take a flight back here?"

Mr. Fang asked as his gaze turned serious while putting down his spoon and picking up the napkin to wipe his lips, with his gaze never leaving her face.

Feeling the heated gaze on her, Zhang Liling felt uncomfortable.

She had been angry about something she didn't want to talk about, but now that he had asked about it, she had no choice but to tell him the truth.

Letting out a soft sigh, she said, "It's not wrong to ask about my mother. I am also not unfilial as to leave her if she was not better."

Thinking about something, her entire face contoured in a frown.

Feeling the dense aura exuding from her, Mr. Fang felt something wrong and asked almost immediately as he made a guess.

"That means your mother is all better now? What did the doctor say, has the cancer cells disappeared for good? Also, why do you look angry, did you fight with your mother before jumping on the plane?"
