Bolin helped Zhang Liling to take her luggage into the house and right at the time they stepped inside, they met Mr. Fang coming toward them with the Butler.
As soon as Butler Gu's eyes landed on the female figure, his eyes widened in shock. "Miss Zhang..."
He was so shocked that he didn't know when those words fell out from his lips.
Her presence was unexpected.
Hearing her name being called by the Butler, Zhang Liling smiled at him.
"Hello, Butler Gu," she greeted as she waved at him with a smile that reached her eyes.
Butler Gu's gaze shifted from her to the luggage in Bolin's possession and made a guess. 'She is back.' And with that, he welcome her properly.
"Welcome back Miss Zhang."
"Thank you Butler Gu, it's good to see you again." She said as the corner of her lips lifted up.
Mr. Fang glanced between and shifted his gaze to her luggage before turning to the butler to say, "Show her to one of the guest rooms. That's where she would be residing for now."
Instantly, Zhang Liling rushed to his side and grasped his hand without warning, surprising the butler who had almost forgotten what Zhang Liling used to be like around Mr. Fang.
Her actions, instantly jolted some pieces of memories from the previous year when she was still around.
"Thank you so much for letting me stay here, Mr. Fang." Zhang Liling said as the flesh around her cheeks gathered to her cheekbones and three streaks of wrinkles appeared at the corner of her eyes.
Seeing this scene, it dwelled on Butler Gu that Zhang Liling was back this time around, not as a servant, but as Fang Bingwen's guest.
And this further confirmed their relationship status.
"I will see you when I come back," Mr. Fang said in a bid for her to let his arm off.
Zhang Liling being smart, got the message and slowly let her hands fall on her sides.
"Have a great day, Mr. Fang!" She said enthusiastically while waving her hand as she watched him leave her sight.
Butler Gu went over to Bolin's side to take over Zhang Liling's luggage so the later could leave.
Finally when Bolin shut the entrance door, Butler Gu pulled the luggage as he said to Zhang Liling, "Miss Zhang please come with me, I will show you to your new room."
Zhang Liling quickly turned to follow him.
On their way, she chatted with him. She asked about how he, the hosuekeeper and the chef have been and any events that may have occurred in her absence.
To her question, the Butler replied. He dropped the formalities and was so carefree with her.
On getting to first guest room, the Butler left the luggage for a moment to take out a bunch of keys front his trouser pockets.
As he fished for the right key, he said to her, "Don't worry about the room, it was cleaned less than a week ago, but if you don't..."
"I'm fine with it. I am more excited to be back here, and allowed a place to rest," Zhang Liling said, cutting him off with her eyes shining ever so brightly.
After unlocking the door, Butler Gu pushed it open and rolled in the luggage with Zhang Liling following behind.
"Miss Zhang, the rest of your things from your previous room will be transferred here shortly. But first, what would you like for breakfast? Do you have any special requests?" He asked as he left the luggage and turned around with his gaze fixed on her.
Being aware that she flew for several hours, he was attentive to know that she needed food to eat.
"I'm fine with anything. I took a long flight back, so I would freshen up first before coming out."
"That's fine." Butler Gu replied before leaving her to her space.
As soon as he left and shut the door, Zhang Liling twirled in fascination before walking toward the bed in quick steps.
Seeing the neatly arranged Queen sized bed, she fell on it with her back against it.
There was a large contrast between the room she used to live in and this one.
There so much more space, and the intricate interior decors were almost on par with Mr. Fang's bedroom.
What made her so excited was not because she got to have a bedroom upgrade, but because of the upgrade in her and Mr. Fang's relationship, and for that she was most grateful.
Zhang Liling took her tile rolling on the bed and taking a good look at every part of her new living space.
She got a massive bedroom with a study area in one corner. She had an exclusive bathroom and walk-in closet with the standard of a 5-star hotel.
Walking into the bathroom, she saw that it had two types of bath.
A shower and a bathtub.
Seeing this kind of setting, her Zhang Liling's body began to each for a bath.
Without bothering to unpack her luggage first, she went to lock the door to the room before taking off her clothes and getting into the bathub.
Almost half an hour later, she stepped out of the bedroom clothed with a white bathrobe she found in the bathroom cabinet.
This cold bath she took helped to relax her nerves. If the weather wasn't hot these days, she would have never bothered to take a cold bath. A warm one would have been perfect for the tub.
Quickly opening her luggage, she picked a one piece dress and put it on before proceeding to unpack her luggage, and it was at this time that Butler Gu came to remind her of her breakfast.
Heating the knocks on the door, Zhang Liling stepped out of the inner room and went directly to answer door.
As soon as she opened it, the aged butler's face came into view.
Smiling at her, he announced, "Miss Zhang, your breakfast is ready."
"Thank you Butler Gu, I will be there shortly, let me pick up my phone first." Zhang Liling said with a smile.
She left the door open and turned to her sling bag which she was yet to touch. Then digging her hands inside while peeping into it, she got a hold of her phone.
Butler Gu was still waiting for her by the time she came back to the door and together, they walked down to the dining room.
"Miss Zhang, I will leave you to eat first. And while you do that, Ms. Chu and another servant would transfer your things from your old room."
"That's right, I haven't seen Ms. Chu, it seems like she is very busy." Zhang Liling asked as she pulled out a chair at the dining area and sat down.
She just remembered that she was yet to set her eyes on the housekeeper.
A smile graced the Butler's lips as he explained, "Ms. Chu just coming back from the grocery store. Before coming to call you a few minutes ago, I told her about your presence and she seemed very elated."
Pausing to check the time on his phone, he continued, "She said she wanted to put the bag down and wash her hands, but I don't know what's taking her long to come around."
Just then, they heard the sound of quick footsteps coming close and Instinctively, a knowing smile on their faces.
Before the hosuekeeper appeared before their line of sight, they could already hear her excited voice calling out to Zhang Liling.
"Miss Zhang!" Ms. Chu called out before appearing at the dining room.
"Miss Zhang, you are back!" She said while beaming with smiles.
Being excited to see the housekeeper, Zhang Liling stood to her feet and pushed the chair aside before walking over to her side with a smile that reached her eyes.
"Ms. Chu, it's good to see you!" She said before pulling the older woman in for a hug.
Without a moment of hesitation, the older woman wrapped her hands around her.
"Miss Zhang, welcome back. I'm so happy to see you. Each time I remember you, I always ask Mr. Gu if he had any information about you." Ms. Chu cried out.
She was almost emotional on seeing the young woman who had left their side a year ago.
She had even forgotten how troublesome she was, as all that was on her mind and heart was the joy on seeing her again.
"Ms. Chu, I can see that you missed me just like I missed all of you." Zhang Liling said before slowly releasing her from her embrace.
Immediately, the woman began to bombard her with questions while gazing at her.
"Why wouldn't I miss you? How are you? You look just the same as before. How is your mother's health now, is she all better?"
"Ms. Chu slow down," Zhang Liling said with a low chuckle.
Butler Gu who was standing at the side, smiled before interjecting.
"Miss Zhang, Ms. Chu has been concerned for you and your mother since you left. And she has been hoping that everything would be okay at your end."
Hearing this, Zhang Liling felt a little emotional as she looked between the two of them.
"I didn't know that you two love me to this level."
"What's so surprising about it?" Ms. Chu asked as she regained a bit of her consciousness while managing a small smile.
"You two always scold me a bit when I don't do my job on time." Zhang Liling said, and immediately, sounds of laughter resounded in the dining room.
