Zhang Liling entered the villa with a grin.
Because her hands were full, she had to transfer the shopping bag from her right hand to her left so she could open the entrance door and help herself inside.
Just as she shut the door behind her and took a few steps in, she met the housekeeper carrying a salad bowl and heading for the dining.
If time wasn't too late, Zhang Liling would dodge her but unfortunately, her entrance was grand, hence, attracting attention she could have avoided.
On seeing her in return, Ms. Chu paused in her steps to cast a long glance at her.
"Miss Zhang, you went shopping?" She asked with an unbelievable expression on her face as her gaze shifted from the bags in Zhang Liling's hands unto her face.
Zhang Liling bit her tongue before releasing a soft sigh. Then quickly composing herself, she continued in her steps with a fawning smile.
"Yes, I couldn't help it. I remembered that I have a potential date this weekend, so I stopped to buy an outfit befitting for it." She revealed with a blissful smile.
She actually remembered the date she had with Mr. Fang and after searching her wardrobe and not finding any suitable outfit befitting for her sight, she decided to go shopping.
This was something she could do at any time within the week, but she was really adamant about getting it today, hence the reason she lied.
Ms. Chu stared at her wide-eyed and was speechless for several seconds.
"Miss Zhang, you said you were on your period and wanted to go out to buy sanitary pads," She said in a reminder.
She was actually reminding her about the reason she left her work and went out of the house in the first place.
Zhang Liling smiled while nodding her head in understanding, as she dipped her hand inside one of the bags to pull out a pack of the sanitary pad before showing it to her.
"Ms. Chu, see, I got them."
Both women were too invested in their conversation not to notice the small sounds of footsteps descending the stairs.
Mr. Fang's brows furrowed as he came down the stairs and saw them talking about the period, leaving the house, and sanitary pads.
The more he heard, the more his nose scrunched up and his brows tugged further downwards.
'Are they blind or what?' He thought with his eyes narrowing at them as black lines appeared on his forehead.
Mr. Fang really couldn't comprehend how interesting their conversation was for them not to have noticed his presence up until now.
Seeing the pad in her hand and other shopping bags in her hand, he could no longer tolerate their ignorance and continued in his steps.
Without minding how awkward that would be for them to see him coming out of nowhere, he walked past them with knotted brows, and with his hands in the front pockets of his pants.
Immediately both women heard the sound of his footsteps near them, they were surprised as one question remained in their minds.
'When did he come down, how come we didn't hear the sound of his footsteps?'
Zhang Liling's eyes nearly fell off their sockets as she immediately retracted the hand that was holding the sanitary pad, and withdrew it to her back.
As soon as his back disappeared from their sight, she slipped the pad into one of the shopping bags in her hands, while still in shock.
"I think Mr. Fang heard us," she whispered.
The housekeeper recovered from her earlier shock and said to her, "It doesn't matter, go back to your room to keep those bags and come out."
After saying that to her, she immediately turned around and marched toward the dining room.
Zhang Liling left for her bedroom and as she kicked the shut, she released a deep sigh she didn't know she has been holding.
Thinking back to the scene of Mr. Fang hearing their entire conversation and seeing her holding out a sanitary pad, she felt like going back to meet him and tell him she wasn't on her period.
She didn't know what he would think of her, but as a woman, she was not ashamed of the special event that takes place in her body four-five days a month.
She only didn't want him to get the wrong idea and postpone their date because of her lie. But finding it useless to meet him because of something as such, she gave up on that idea.
A minute later, she forgot about the scene and her worry from earlier to check out the new outfit she just got.
Before leaving her bedroom, she washed her new pair of lingerie and spread them to dry.
The reason she got that new set of undies was because she believed it would bring her luck to wear new stuff on her first date with Mr. Fang.

Tan Enlai called for the waiter to come over and take their food and drink order.
"Miss Zhang, please help yourself to any delicacy of your choice." He said immediately she received the menu the waiter handed to her.
"Sure," Zhang Xiaoling said in response as her eyes moved over the pages of the menu, with her fingers flipping it over some seconds later.
After noting down their orders, the waiter took the menu and left.
There was a brief silence in the room as neither Enlai nor Xiaoling said anything to each other.
At this time they were waiting for their order to arrive, they seemed to be invested in their phones.
At least, the silence was not awkward, except when their gazes met in-between typing away on their phones.
Zhang Xiaoling quickly averted her gaze and right at that moment, he was about to throw a question at her, and the ringing tune of his phone disrupted him.
Glancing at his phone screen, he saw the caller ID displayed on it and unhurriedly swiped up to answer the caller.
"Hello."
"Yes, I am on my date."
"Vacation? I'm not sure," He said with a contemplative gaze as Zhang Xiaoling listened with her eyes on her phone.
Shi Wenqian had texted her. "How is the date going?" But she was still yet to respond.
