Keep Zhang Liling close?
Mr. Fang didn't think his suggestion made any sense, and he did not hesitate to let his stand known.
"Are you trying to tell me to keep her close because of my selfish insterest? I would never do something like that."
Chuanli face-palmed his forehead before moving his hand away to meet his angry gaze.
"I never said you should use her because of all the benefits and comfort you could get from being with her."
"So, what are you saying?" Mr. Fang inquired with creased brows. He was waiting to hear his good explanation.
Bolin raised a brow, but immediately shifted his gaze away and continued to pretend to be invisible.
'Is Dr. Li by anyway suggesting for Mr. Fang to date Miss Zhang?'
Chuanli went on to explain what he meant in a calm and audible tone.
"You may not have any feelings for Miss Zhang, but she has feelings for you. Not just that, she is the only one whose scent doesn't repulse you."
"Can you get to the point?!" Mr. Fang urged hurriedly. He couldn't wait to get what he actually meant.
"In summary, I'm trying to tell you that feelings can be cultivated. As long as you don't hate her, and feel that you can tolerate her excesses, you can try and get to know her. There is no harm in trying." Chuanli said and cracked his knuckles wit his gaze on him.
He was patiently waiting for his response, while ignoring his strong gaze.
He was bold enough for making that kind of suggesting because he wanted the best for him, and also, he liked Zhang Liling and felt that the two would make a good couple.
Now, he was trying to put them together.
Bolin couldn't believe his ears. He was so shocked that he couldn't hide his widened eyes, but in order to not be seen, he had to turn his face away.
Mr. Fang was still staring at Chuanli, but his strong gaze had changed to become thoughtful. His posture and gaze said that he was contemplating on his suggestion.
'Date Zhang Liling? That crazy girl?'
This was how Mr. Fang saw Zhang Liling. A woman like her who didn't have any fear whatsoever, how would he be able to handle her.
At that thought, he decided to voice his concern out.
"How do you want me to date a women who doesn't listen to me?" Mr. Fang asked as his left brow rose.
Chuanli was a bit taken aback by that question. He was surprised that he was truly contemplating on dating Zhang Liling, and also because he was not expecting to be asked that question.
'Does this mean that he was really considering it?'
"Bingwen, here is what I think. Miss Zhang must be acting stubborn because she wants to get your attention."
Mr. Fang shook his head and relaxed his back comfortably on the backrest before saying, "The Zhang Liling I know is not just being stubborn to get my attention. It is in her nature to act that way. Now, I'm worried about how to deal with a woman like her."
Chuanli and Bolin were surprised that he would really voice his concern, and it was about dating Zhang Liling.
Does it mean that he had even considered and thought about it before today, or was it the other way round?
"I don't think that's an issue for you to worry about." Chuanli said while staring directly into his questioning eyes. "Miss Zhang likes you so much, so I think she would listen to you most of the times."
There was an eerie of silence in the room, with each men having different thoughts.
Chuanli was thinking of of his response. Bolin was trying to picture his Boss and that stubborn young woman together and just couldn't see that being a perfect picture.
Mr. Fang on the otherhand, had something else he was thinking which was entirely different from them.
When it felt like a long time had past, Mr. Fang glanced at Chuanli. "Is this the only reason you called me here for?"
Both men were surprised by the sudden change in topic. Weren't they all talking about him considering to date Zhang Liling? What happened to his response?
Chuanli was still surprised and didn't respond to his question, so Mr. Fang had to repeat it.
"Dr. Li, are you done with your consultation?"
Finally, Chuanli reacted. First, he adjusted himself on the sofa and stared at him with blinking lashes.
"I'm pretty much through with you, but I will be keeping a watch on your daily dose of pills. I want you to go back to taking it twice in the morning and night. If you abuse drugs because you can't help it, your system will become immune to the drug's mechanism."
Mr. Fang nodded in understanding before standing to his feet. Brushing his fingers on his shirt, he lowered his gaze to glance at his shirt buttons.
"Are you leaving?" Chuanli asked while standing up in surprise.
Mr. Fang stopped his actions and raised his head to say in a matter of fact, "You have already made it clear that we have nothing else to talk about. If you are bored and need company, you know where to go to."
Then, he turned to leave with Bolin standing up quickly to follow him, but then, they both heard Chuanli's urgent and curious voice ask, "What about what we talked about just now?"
Mr. Fang stopped in his steps and turned to reply to him, "You shouldn't concern yourself with all of my private matters. You should know when to stop."
Chuanli did not allow him to leave at this point. He refused to accept that advice.
"I am not only your personal doctor, but also your childhood friend. How long have we known each other? One thing I can never do, is to deceive you, or advice your wrongly."
Chuanli's tone was light, but when Mr. Fang saw his gaze, it was filled with honesty just like everytime he got serious.
A long sigh escaped his thin lips before he turned around again. "I know you mean well for me, but allow me to make the final decision. I don't need to give you a feedback, you will get the answer from my actions."
Chuanli watched Bolin open the door for him, and he left his office and disappeared throught the doors. Sighing to himself, her went back to his desk.
