"Miss Zhang, place your food order first before I show you where he is sitting."
Before Zhang Liling could finish glancing at the people sitting at the table her gaze had just fallen upon, Chuanli disrupted her attention.
Staring back at him, she asked, "Dr. Li, I have no choice but to trust that you didn't bring me to the wrong place."
Chuanli smiled and watched her order two dishes, before he proceeded to place his own order.
As the waiter turned to leave, Chuanli clapped his hands and rose to his feet.
"Dr. Li, where are you going to?" Zhang Liling asked immediately with knitted brows. Was he planning to leave her here and go somewhere else?
Chuanli smiled upon her face and leaned in to say in a teasing tone, "Don't you want to say 'hello' to Mr. Fang?"
"What?" Zhang Liling was taken aback at this juncture. What was he talking about?
"It would be rude to ignore Mr. Fang after seeing him sitting very close to us, don't you agree with me?" Chuanli said briefly, before leaning away to stand erect, as he tucked his hands inside the front pockets of his pants.
Instinctively, Zhang Liling stood to her feet. She had just began to look around for Mr. Fang's silhouette when she felt a pull on her arms, and without warning, her body lounged forward.
She almost hit her nose on Chuanli's shoulder, but he was quick to steady her.
"Let's go!" He said after she had regained her balance and before she could complain.
Zhang Liling swallowed her words and allowed him to hold her by the arm and lead her to Mr. Fang's table.
All this while she had been concentrating on looking at her left side to find Mr. Fang, she just discovered that he was sitting at a table at her left side.
Seeing him staring hard at her as they made their way to his table, caused her to feel a little afraid.
She has been surprised to see him immediately her eyes landed on him, as if, she didn't come here for him.
When Mr. Fang saw the two figures walking directly to his table, he got annoyed, and was once again distracted from the conversation he was having with his date.
As he locked eyes with Zhang Liling, he saw her surprised look when she saw him, and for a moment, he thought she was truly surprised to coincidentally meet him there, and was unaware of the address for his date.
But thinking about things clearly as their steps drew closer to him, he concluded that she was not innocent, and he couldn't wait to question the both of them.
"Hello, Mr. Fang, what a pleasure to meet you here!" Chuanli greeted amicably with his hand stretched out as soon as they came to stand beside him.
Mr. Fang's date glanced at Chuanli and Zhang Liling, and the only thing she could think was that, they were a bad match for a couple.
They didn't look like they were deeply in love to her, but they were indeed very good looking.
Mr. Fang glanced at the hand Chuanli stretched out and looked away. He refused to acknowledge his greeting or even shake his hand.
Instead, he picked up his glass of red wine and took a few sips from it. Initially, he did not want to drink, but he ended up doing that anyway to comfort himself.
Chuanli smiled to himself before taking his hand back, and Zhang Liling took this as an opportunity to greet him as well.
"Mr. Fang, it's a surprise to see you here. I didn't know you would be having a date here."
Mr. Fang turned to glance at her. He could see that small smile resting perfectly on her face, and his lips moved several times, but no words were uttered.
The lady at the table with him, seeing that he obviously knew them but refused to acknowledge them asked, "Mr. Fang, do you know them?"
As soon as she called out to him in that manner, Zhang Liling fixed a hard gaze on her, and was almost caught by her if she wasn't quick to withdraw her gaze when Chuanli pinched her arm.
Even Mr. Fang felt the hostility from her and couldn't help glancing at her. 'What is wrong with her?'
To that question asked by his date, Mr. Fang did not give any form of direct answer to her, instead he turned to Chuanli to ask, "What are they two of you doing here? Are you also here on a date?"
This question was directed to Chuanli, but Zhang Liling answered to it.
"We are not really on a date. My heart is taking time to heal after being broken from rejection. I thought that coming out here would help me to heal quickly."
Chuanli's eyes widened in shock. He didn't know that she would give that kind of reply, and he almost let out chuckle.
Mr. Fang's date looked upon Zhang Liling with insterest, as a few questions ran through her mind.
Mr. Fang on the other hand, feigned ignorance as he asked her another question which was more like an advice.
"I don't think it would be a good idea for you to make another request, don't you think so? You only have one heart, it would be bad if it gets broken again and takes a long time to heal properly."
Chuanli was done holding in his laughter. He burst out in laughter immediately which earned a glare from both Zhang Liling and Mr. Fang.
This left him no choice but to cover his mouth to control his amusement and the attention from the other guests dining.
Turning to Mr. Fang, Zhang Liling locked gazes with him and said in a clear tone, which was more of a declaration and promise.
"Mr. Fang, I don't mind getting my heart broken so many times even if it will take time to heal. But a certain someone will have no choice but to accept me soon when my results comes out."
Mr. Fang narrowed his eyes at her and was about to say something to her, but Chuanli quickly tugged on her arm to drag her away.
"Mr. Fang, have a nice dinner with your date!"
Mr. Fang watched Zhang Liling get dragged away without putting up a fight.
"Mr. Fang, was that your sister?"
