There was no way, Bolin would have understood what he meant. And Chuanli will not bother to explain anything to him.
Soon, Mr. Fang's dinner was served.
Ms. Chu looked surprised with the arrangement on the dining table and wondered what was going on.
Butler Gu didn't like that she was clueless and whispered the deal to her.
She glanced at Chuanli and Bolin, and didn't know what to say. She was speechless.
How could they be doing this when Mr. Fang was about to have his dinner, or was Zhang Liling more than a servant to him?
Right at this time, Zhang Liling stepped out of her room with all smiles.
She has been on her phone chatting with her friends from Paris, and only remembered about food when her stomach growled.
She had to end the chat and come out of her room to find some food.
Stepping out of her room, she walked through the hallway until she came towards a bed. There, the aroma of the food wafted into her nostrils, triggering a response from her stomach again.
"Is Mr. Fang back?"
That could only explain why she was perceiving the aroma of the food that was coming from the dinning area.
Thinking about that, she silently made her way over. She was going to tiptoe, but that would look horrible if she was found out, she had rather walk over boldly.
If she was asked what she was doing there, then, she would just say that she came to greet him. Simple.
Arriving at the dining room, Zhang Liling saw a different scene being played out.
Seeing her arrive, Chuanli quickly picked up the party popper on one of the seats and went to her side before popping the content on her.
The glittering content came pouring down from above her head to her body. Someone of them dropped on her shoulders and stuck to her clothes, while the rest just spattered around the area she was standing.
What a mess.
"Congratulations Miss Zhang!!!" He said, and others wished her too.
"Congratulations Miss Zhang!!"
Zhang Liling was wowed.
"What? OMG! What's all this?" She cried out happily.
"Are you touched?" Chuanli asked with a teasing smile.
Zhang Liling nodded. "Of course I am! I wasn't expecting to receive this kind of treatment today!" She said almost in tears.
Her heart felt so warmed up.
Even if she was to be in the Zhang family, she would be ignored. If her stepmother decides to show her a fake love in front of her father, it still wasn't real.
She felt so happy to feel this genuine care from these people.
Chuanli winked at Bolin as if to say, 'See, I told you.'
Bolin shifted his gaze to Zhang Liling and said, "Miss Zhang, it's good that you are happy, but we really have to get rid of the poppers, or we will all be in trouble by the time Mr. Fang comes down to have his dinner."
Everyone followed his gaze from the mess on the floor to the dinner that was placed on the dining table, and concluded on it.
"I will clean up this mess immediately!" Ms. Chu said and hurried away.
"I will help her," Butler Gu said and went away.
He figured they would be faster if he helped her to clean.
Soon, Mr. Fang would come down. Even if he would not be against celebrating Zhang Liling, surely, hell will be let loose for turning his dining room into a mess.
Zhang Liling was a little worried. She would hate to offend Mr. Fang in this day.
She still needed to get his permission for the party at the club tonight.
"Maybe I should join them, I would hate to ruin Mr. Fang's night" because ruining his night, means that mine will be ruined, including my morning.'
Zhang Liling said the second-half of her statement in her head. She would be crazy to voice it out.
Chuanli smiled at her before gesturing for her to sit. "Don't worry. the butler and the housekeeper will take care of this. You just have to sit and get ready to cut your cake and pop some wine."
Zhang Liling took a good look at the dining room before asking, "Will it be a good idea to do this here?"
She wasn't so sure about Mr. Fang's reaction to them using his dining room to celebrate her, when he was coming to eat.
"Mr. Fang shouldn't be left out on this. How do you think he would feel if we left him all alone here, and went to some other place to celebrate?"
'That wouldn't be good?' She thought.
Bolin glanced at Chuanli and wondered what he was getting at.
'As if Mr. Fang would care? He would rather enjoy the peace and quiet.'
Zhang Liling proceeded to dust her body to take care of the glittering papers on her body, a second before Butler Gu and Ms. Chu came back with their cleaning items.
Chuanli forced Zhang Liling to sit, before fixing the small knife in the cake.
"Are you ready for..."
"Ready for what?" A cold voice interrupted from the entrance.
Mr. Fang had his hands inside the front pocket of his pants with a frown on his face.
Luckily, the butler and the housekeeper had already finished sweeping away the party poppers and was about to leave before he came in unannounced.
They quickly bowed slightly before disappearing from his presence.
Zhang Liling felt her butts on fire and hurriedly got up from the dinning chair.
"You are right on time!" Chuanli said with a big smile on his face while glancing towards his direction.
Bolin and Zhang Liling were the only ones that held their breath, and didn't really appreciate his presence.
Mr. Fang glanced at his dining table and the things that were put together with his food and knitted his brows, before stepping forward.
Before he could say anything, Chuanli hurried to explain to him, "Miss Zhang just finished her last exams, so we wanted to do a little something for her for achieving this milestone."
Mr. Fang shifted his gaze to Zhang Liling who had her gaze lowered, before sitting at the head chair. He then put his hands on the table.
Glancing back at her again, he asked, "Miss Zhang? Are you that confident about your grades to be celebrating now? Your result is not yet out."
'Huh?'
'What's going on here?'
It was Chuanli and Bolin's turn to be confused.
