Zhang Mingyu sneered and continued in his steps.

Actually, there was no way Zhang Liling was going to wish her enemies to have a great day.

She had rather wished herself well so that her enemies would be the ones to have a bad day.

"Liling, you really took me by surprise. I thought you were going to throw in at least a full-minute speech. And then, your closing was remarkable."

Zhang Liling smiled, "It will be good to be unpredictable to your enemies."

"Now I'm sure that you are most definitely aware that you just made more enemies."

"They were never folks, to begin with, so why would I care when they turn to foes? We have a class starting in the next few minutes, we have to hurry!"

***********************

Stepping into the class, all eyes were on them, but mostly on Zhang Liling. She didn't care and just climbed up to find seats for her and Tungmei.

She was just wishing that one of them would say something to her, so she could finish off the person with words, but no one dared to.

Whatever things they wanted to say to her, just remained stuck in their heads.

When Mr. Fang heard about the rumor and saw the photos attached to it, he was angry at Chuanli for driving into the school to pick up Zhang Liling.

He went as far as calling his doctor to scold him for his actions.

"Why are you scolding me? This is not my fault! How was I supposed to know that things would turn up like this?" Chuanli asked.

"Well, now you know! Next time think properly before you do anything!" Mr. Fang said and ended the call directly.

He didn't even know why he was furious.

Whatever the reason was, Zhang Liling was the next person on the list to be blamed, but he didn't do that directly. He blamed her in his head.

It looks like she was good at attracting negative attention to herself, but he was not going to scold her. He was already tired of doing that.

After classes for the day, that was the perfect time for Zhang Liling to receive a call from her father.

As for how he found out about that, she was not interested in knowing.

"Right about time," She said as she pulled out her phone from her trouser pocket to glance at the caller ID,

"Your father?" Tungmei asked.

Right now, they were on their way to the restaurant. Zhang Liling had promised to buy her lunch earlier.

"Mmm… I'm going to be really quick with this one." Zhang Liling replied and swiped to the answer icon at the same time.

"Zhang Liling! Who was that guy you left in his car with?" Zhang Renshu asked furiously.

He had someone keeping tabs and got the information some minutes ago. After seeing things with his eyes, he directly called her.

"Dad, I think I am allowed to have friends, or am I not allowed to?" Zhang Liling asked.

"No one is telling you not to have friends. You should be careful of the kind of friends you make. But look at the gossip, does it look like anyone cares about that?"

"Dad, I don't care what anyone thinks about me." Zhang Liling said, sounding angry.

Zhang Renshu failed to understand her and immediately said to her, based on experience,

"You have to start caring about the kind of image you allow people to see outside. If you continue acting this way, you won't go far!"

As a businessman for ages, and one aspiring to be a politician, he was good at keeping up public appearances, and he expects everyone in his family to do the same.

Zhang Liling was not in the mood to argue with him and escalate his mood.

She had wanted to ask if she was the only one who attracts trouble. She wanted to mention Mingyu's name but remembered that his mother was good at covering up his faults.

Not hearing any response from her, Zhang Renshu changed topics. "Who was that friend that came to pick you up and where did you go to?"

Now, Zhang Liling was starting to get pissed off. Why was he questioning who she meets and where she goes, it's not like she was a child?

Zhang Liling didn't bother to hide her annoyance while replying to him this time around.

"Dad, I don't think it's right to be intruding into my privacy. Do you also pay this much attention to Xiaoling and Mingyu?"

"Why would I pay that much attention to them when their mother is here with them?" Zhang Renshu asked with a frown.

He believed that since those ones had their mother around them, then he didn't need to put his eyes on them. It's not like he had the time for that.

"Dad if you put it like that, then my mother is still alive and can watch over me from Paris too. If you are worried about me making bad friends, you don't have to, because I'm smart.

And dad, I have been standing in the sun for the past few minutes and I have a headache already. Let's talk some other time. Take care of your health, bye!"

Zhang Liling terminated the call and sighed. Then she glanced at the shade she and Tungmei stopped for a while and smiled to herself.

"I'm your father won't have any reason to scold you any more, not after your last statement, which tells him that you care about him," Tungmei said proudly.

"I just told him I was smart, but he wouldn't understand fully. I told him to take care of his health so he wouldn't call back to scold me, but he will think that I care about him, not bad."

"Now, I'm beginning to pity for your enemies…"

Zhang Liling linked arms with her and continued on their journey. "I'm not done growing."

During dinner at the Zhang House, Shi Wenqian who already heard the rumor about Zhang Liling deliberately brought it up with Zhang Renshu.

But the reaction she got, was the least expected.

"Why are you interested in rumors?"
