Chapter 460: The Bees’ Nest

Translator: Sparrow Translations Editor: Sparrow Translations

The monkey fell down clumsily as it held the rock in its hand. Upon hitting the ground, it tossed the rock to a side and scurried off.

"This monster..." the crowd had nothing to say.

The monsters in the game were always confrontational, but this monkey ran off just like that.

Frost Blade was even stoned to death by this beast. Nine Solitary Spears wasn’t going to let it go that easily, he rushed over and chased it with the rest of his squad.

Without his riding beast, the monkey had virtually no combat stats. After being surrounded by the squad, he was but a circus monkey. They cut him up to bits.

At the same moment, the other two eagle riding demonic apes had returned with new ammo.

But they behaved a little differently this time- they circled in the sky as before, but they refused to dive down. Clearly, they were cautious now that one of theirs had fallen.

If they did not have the stones in their hands, the squads would have no qualms about heading up the mountain. But the beasts did, so they had to proceed with caution.

Ming Du pointed to the monster in the sky and said, "If they don’t come down, my attacks can’t hit them, what do we do?".

Fearless looked at Spring Halo and said, "How far are they now?".

Spring Halo looked over and said, "Assuming that we are at x altitude and the monster is at y height, our distance should be about 27metres.".

"How do you know what altitude we are at?" Wang Yu asked curiously.

Spring Halo replied, "It’s easy, just look at the system settings.".

"...".

"How is it? Can we reach it?" Fearless asked Yang Nuo.

After Lvl 30, archers could learn the dizzy shot skill, which lulled their target into a temporary status of sleep. If that happened, the monster would be in normal attack range.

Yang Nuo replied, "My effective range is only 25metres...".

"No worries, get on that platform, the trajectory should form a right angled triangle with the monster, it’s the highest point..." Spring Halo said.

"Can you speak English?!".

"If you get on that platform, the distance should be a mere 20 metres.".

Yang Nuo said a little embarrassed, "I still might not hit from that distance...".

Yang Nuo used the free mode setting, without the system support, the aiming accuracy was much lower and skill reliant.

20 metres was no easy feat, especially for a creature that moved at such a rapid speed...

Ming Du winced and said, "Don’t worry little girl, let me teach you how to aim...".

"..." Yang Nuo looked at Fearless.

Fearless nodded, "This is a good point, everyone, we have to learn from Ming Du’s sudden growth of a brain in the presence of a girl.".

"Alright, but if you anger me, I will kill you immediately," Yang Nuo warned.

"Hey hey, come on...".

Yang Nuo dished out her bow and aimed it at Ming Du.

"Don’t worry miss, I’m an upright person!" Ming Du said with a lecherous look.

Everyone coughed.

Seeing that Ming Du and Yang Nuo were proceeding forward, Thunderlord shouted at Fearless, "Get the two of them back! What if they attract the monsters?!".

This mountainous passage was filled with dangers, who knew if there were other creatures apart from those that they had already encountered? Just a few of those eagle riding demonic apes were enough to muddle them, they didn’t want more trouble.

Fearless smiled, "No worries, they’re just scouting ahead, they can handle it if anything crops up.".

The duo had already reached where Spring Halo had pointed to earlier as Ming Du pointed at the target and said, "Aim there!".

Yang Nuo took aim.

"What are they doing?" Thunderlord bellowed. "Is she trying to shoot at that monster?".

After level 30, archers obtained the precision passive skill which allowed them to increase their shooting range to 15metres. But the monster was clearly more than that distance away, so Thunderlord wasn’t sure if she was aiming at it or not.

"Shoot!" Ming Du shouted as she released her arrow.

"Duang!".

The arrow glided through the air as it landed on one of the eagle riding demonic apes. A dizzy status appeared above the ape’s head as it hovered down.

"Attack!" Fearless commanded as the members of the Quan Zhen Sect raised their ranged weapons and bombarded it.

"What the f*ck, she actually hit?" Thunderlord was taken aback. Even though she had to rely on Ming Du to time her attack, the attack range was almost ridiculous, surely it was just luck?

The dizzy shot had a long cooldown, the other monster cackled and released its rock as it flew back into the mountains.

Seeing that the last monster had been chased away, Ming Du said gleefully, "Alright, let’s proceed forward now.".

The danger had been expelled, there were no other creatures around. The rest followed them quickly, but before long, Yang Nuo and Ming Du halted in their tracks.

"What’s wrong? Is there a creature in front?" Fearless asked.

Ming Du yelled, "Run!! We’ve run into the bees’ nest!".

"What do you mean?" the rest wondered, only to see the sky darken ahead of them. The sun was covered by what could only be described as a hoard of eagle riding demonic apes, who were all flying towards them.

"F*ck!!!" everyone screamed upon this seeing this.

There were well over a hundred of those monsters, and each one of them held a large rock in their hands, they were even in some sort of formation. Their speed had all been boosted and were now extremely fast. They were coming over fast.

Seeing the number of winged beasts, Fearless said regretfully, "If I had known, I never would have let that one off.".
