Chapter 294 Sylvana new pet

In the eyes of common people, Japan is often perceived as an isolationist country that avoids the world's gaze and exhibits pride by refusing aid from the global community, even in the face of disasters like tsunamis.

However, the recent announcement about opening their borders suggests a change in stance, expressing a desire to learn from the world and import various goods into their land. For investors, this signifies a virgin, untapped market, with the potential for discovering new resources or plants.

Yet, for the Curtained World and the Hightower, Japan has long been considered a no man's land for Western mages. Infiltration attempts have consistently failed, with Onmyoji, practitioners of Japanese esoteric cosmology, displaying a strong aversion to Western mages. Spies caught in their midst have only returned with their heads.

Recently, Japan sent signals indicating an intent to open their borders, starting with a small-scale tourism initiative and welcoming approved mages into their land. Gluttony, one of the seven deadly sins Witches, is among those granted permission to stay in Japan.

Japan's power dynamics are shaped by three major players. First is the Tokugawa Clan, the clan of the recent Shogun. Despite possessing greater military might than the Hojo Clan, the Shogun seat inexplicably fell into the hands of the Hojo Clan, their rivals.

The second is the Hojo Clan, which secured the Shogun seat from the Tokugawa Clan. While their military strength is inferior, they excel in Onmyoji, both in numbers and strength, enabling them to compete effectively.

The third is the Mori Clan, a warrior clan and ancient nobility in decline. Although facing challenges, they still hold their own against lesser clans and fallen nobility. Koyuki's grandmother also hails from this clan.

Envy finished presenting the basic information and added.

"I also don't know exactly what's happening, but based on the information I have, there is a high chance that a coup is occurring in Japan right now. This is why Koyuki has no choice but to enter into a political marriage with the Hojo Clan to protect her mother or her maternal clan of Tokugawa and Mori. Moreover, I believe her decision to announce this to the world is her clever idea, signaling for you to hurry up and go help her." Envy concluded the last sentence with a smile.

"Clever?" Daniel paused, taking a moment to reflect. Back in the day when she was still an idol, he recalled, "That's right... Sometimes, Koyuki is surprisingly clever."

After hearing from Envy, Daniel couldn't help but smile. He recognized that the scenario Envy described was highly probable, lifting the weight of uncertainty and suspicion from his heart.

"Envy, do you think the Hojo clan knows about my relationship with Koyuki?" Daniel inquired, his smile taking on a colder edge.

Envy didn't hesitate and shared the truth as she knew it.

"Of course, they know. Moreover, they should be aware of your considerable power. You might not be aware, but the name 'Magitek' among mages in Southeast Asia carries the same deterrent effect as the name 'Vatican Secret Extermination Unit' does among mages in Europe. Any reasonably competent organization should possess some information about you to avoid unnecessarily provoking you," Envy explained, glancing at Christopher, who was engrossed in a game of rock-paper-scissors with Sylvana.

"In other words, they know, but they still dare to provoke me... well, they succeeded." Daniel sighed before standing up from the patient bed. He used a card in his mindscape to heal himself and restore his stamina.

"Daniel," Envy called out, capturing Daniel's attention.

"I understand that you want to help Koyuki, but what about Greed? She's waiting for your reinforcement," Envy reminded Daniel about his promise to Greed.

"Don't worry, I'll make it quick, and I'll send our best strike team to her first as a vanguard force. Penthy," he called Penthesilea.

"Yes, m'lord?"

"Prepare a few battalion soldiers. Equip them with the same model power armor as the Atlantean vanguard. Contact the battleship armada on standby, finish refueling, and prepare ammunition," Daniel instructed while walking out of the patient room. He stopped as he realized he forgot to instruct something.

"Oh, and move the god slayer cannon in orbit toward above the Hojo Clan," Daniel added before turning toward Envy.

"Want to come with me? I'll show you something cool," Daniel invited Envy before walking toward his little princess.

"Sweetie, can you stay with big sis Michaela? I'll go out to bring Mama Koyuki back from some bad people," Daniel said to Sylvana.

Sylvana nodded. "Okay! Papa, be safe." She waved her little hand at Daniel.

Daniel nodded at her smile and left the room with Envy after dressing properly.

Penthesilea said goodbye to Sylvana and went to carry out the tasks Daniel instructed.

As for Christopher, he stayed within the patient room to look after Sylvana in case she returned to her home and got lost. Additionally, he needed to take care of the yellow iguana that strangely acted like a normal iguana.

Christopher walked toward Mamon, who behaved like a normal iguana within the cage. He looked through the cage and saw Mamon staying in the corner, trying to make itself as small as possible, as if avoiding notice.

"What the hell are you doing?" Christopher asked.

"Hey, stinking paladin. Did that witch Envy go out yet?" Mammon asked, not daring to show its head near the cage entrance.

"Yeah, she's out. Why? Are you afraid of her?" Christopher asked, his smile filled with disdain and mischief.

"Me!? Afraid of her!? ME!? The great Mammon! The Hell Lord of Greed! MEEEE??" Mammon roared angrily at Christopher.

"Yes, you. Afraid of her. Besides, shouldn't it be the Hell Lord of Poverty now? You're even broker than some hobo…" Christopher intended to continue.

Mammon: "Arrrrrrrrrrrrggghhhhh, you human!!!"

???: "Kyaaaaaaaaa, what is this!? A talking lizard!?"

The roar of anger echoed alongside the scream of excitement from a child.

Both Christopher and Mammon turned toward the source of the voice and found none other than Sylvana, giddily jumping up and down beside Christopher to see what was inside the cage. Christopher had placed the cage on the counter, which was higher than her.

"Uncle Chris! Uncle Chris! Can I have this lizard!? It looks cute!!" Sylvana jumped up and down with excitement.

Christopher: He's ugly, little lady.

Mammon: Yes! I'm ugl…

"F*ck!!! You dare say that I'm ugly!? Hah!? You scarface!?" Mammon roared in anger even louder at Christopher, while Sylvana became even more giddy at this funny-looking scene.

"Kyaaaaaa, looks fun!"
