Chapter 162 Koyuki in Danger

"You… you sealed my magic power?" Lucian asked in disbelief, then he smirked. "Heh! It's not the first time someone tried to do this to me! But every time, I found a way to destroy the seal and regain my power! No matter how strong the seal was!" Lucian said with a threatening tone, but Daniel just shrugged, showing that he didn't care about Lucian's boasts. His only desire now was to go home and embrace his wife and little princess.

As Daniel turned to leave the hidden chamber, Lucian's wounded pride and inability to bear the humiliation compelled him to make a grave mistake.

"Magitek! Why don't you check on your whore? What was her name? Ah, yes, Wrath!" said Lucian, tauntingly.

Daniel stopped in his tracks and slowly turned toward Lucian. His eyes turned cold and unfeeling, as if looking at a corpse. His silent and overwhelming bloodlust emanated from him. As a maximum-level Grand Hunter, Daniel carried the bloodlust and killing intent of someone who had slain countless monsters and demons. This intense aura was something Lucian could not bear. Ever since the Grand Hunter profession card had integrated into reality, Daniel's bloodlust had become a force to be reckoned with.

Lucian felt a chill run down his spine and shuddered under Daniel's piercing glare.

"What did you say? Say it again, I dare you," Daniel said, his voice low and dangerous. He started walking back toward Lucian, who quickly retreated behind Envy, hoping she would protect him. However, Envy avoided him and even glared at Lucian.

Lucian's brain began to work, and he remembered that to Envy, the current Grand Councilor, the young witches were like her children. Some of them were even adopted by her, such as Gluttony, Pride, and Lust. Though Wrath wasn't as close to Envy, she was still considered her pupil, and Envy was the first to offer her help and support when Wrath first learned about the existence of magic. Envy cared for her as if she were her own child, and like a mother, anyone who insulted her child would face her ire.

"Mr. Magitek, check on Wrath first, in case she got herself into some accident," Envy said while still glaring at Lucian. If he didn't know about the importance of this scum, she might have already killed him herself. Even now, she still felt a little regret at accepting the deal from Cyrus.

Daniel quickly brought up his smartphone and tried to contact Koyuki, but his phone only displayed a message saying, 'This number is unreachable.' Fear gripped him as he remembered that Koyuki should have been picking up their daughter from kindergarten and heading home with Michaela. And this was two hours before midnight! Something must have happened to them!

At that moment, anger took hold of Daniel's emotions, but he was the type to grow quieter the angrier he became, as well as being intolerant of any nonsense. There were no angry shouts, no signs of him losing his temper, and his face didn't turn red or green. It was as if, suddenly, his emotions vanished, but his actions spoke otherwise.

Pierce!!

In a blink of an eye, Daniel pierced a silver stake into Lucian's thigh and twisted it inside, causing excruciating pain to Lucian.

"Arrrrrrrrrrrrggghhh!!" Lucian cried out in agony, his face twisted in pain. The anger and humiliation that had driven him to mock Daniel were about to resurface, but the moment his eyes locked onto Daniel's hollow and unfeeling black gaze, it was as if he was staring into a black hole that absorbed all things and exuded only death and destruction.

All thoughts of mocking Daniel immediately vanished from Lucian's head.

"Tell me where she is and what you did to her. I won't repeat myself," Daniel demanded, preparing a set of truth-motivating tools to the side. There were pliers and something that looked like a dagger with three or four prongs that seemed capable of extracting something from inside Lucian's body.

"I… I told Lord Satan about Wrath's schedule and… and… he said he will take his power back from her!" Lucian fearfully admitted.

"What!? What did you say!? All the Witches have already died once before being reborn with their Witch power! If Satan takes his power back, Wrath will have nothing to preserve her life!!" Envy shouted in anger as Daniel quickly gathered his dark power before touching Lucian's head.

Lucian felt as though something dark entered his body, but he didn't know what it was, as he was not well-versed in curses or anything like this.

After Daniel had checked that his magic had taken effect, he quickly retreated out of the hidden chamber.

Envy, seeing that Daniel had left, glared at Lucian.

"Mr. Blackscar… please know this, if Wrath dies, the deal is off. Even if Cyrus protects you himself and even involves the Golden Scale faction in this mess, I'll kill you and anyone that gets in my way," Envy said, her eyes suddenly turning into slits, as if they were the eyes of a beast, as her power emanating from the Leviathan itself.

— Outside of the Hidden Chamber —

Daniel quickly called Penthesilea, who had just enjoyed a nice nap after 48 hours of commanding and cooperating with the field team.

"Penthesilea! Are you still there?" Daniel's urgent voice echoed through the female nap room, a space built inside the command room for those who were too tired to sleep and needed to exchange shifts with others.

Penthesilea woke up quickly, rubbing her eyes to shake off the sleepiness.

"Penthesilea, respond, are you there?" Daniel asked again, a sense of urgency in his voice, as he rushed toward the exit of the sewage system.

"Yes! Yes, my Lord. Sorry for the delay!" Penthesilea replied, immediately searching for a suit to wear over her green sports bra that she had been using for sleeping.

As she stepped out of her napping room and settled into her command seat, she asked, "How may I help you, my Lord?" Her voice now devoid of any sleepiness, fully focused on her duties.

The moment Penthesilea sat on her command seat, the atmosphere in the command room shifted. The people who had been chatting and relaxing instantly shifted into work mode, knowing that an emergency had occurred, and their rest and leisure were now forgotten in the face of the impending crisis.

"Immediately check Koyuki's current location!" Daniel urgently asked as he continued rushing toward the exit.

In the command room, Daniel's voice resonated as Penthesilea connected his signal for everyone's convenience. The entire team quickly got to work, searching for Koyuki's GPS signal. Daniel had implanted a small device in her skin, a precaution for those he considered important to him.

The search began from Sector Alpha City and expanded outward to cover the entire Tessia Kingdom, but Koyuki's signal was nowhere to be found within the country. Strangely, the signal didn't even appear on the main screen, and the people monitoring the signal receiver were baffled.

"Negative, my Lord! There is no signal of Ms. Koyuki within the Tessia Kingdom!" Penthesilea reported.

"Use the satellite we acquired from the Golden Empire group and triangulate her position in South East Asia!" Daniel commanded again. Reaching the nearest exit, he quickly leaped out of the manhole, causing the cars on the road to swerve and leading to a massive traffic accident.

"Fuck! Do you want to die, shithead!?" One of the drivers cursed at Daniel after his car crashed into a nearby bus stop where people were waiting. Fortunately, it was very late at night, and only a few people were present at the bus stop. The ones in the way quickly reacted and jumped out of harm's way, ensuring their safety.

As the traffic police at the crossroad approached, Daniel input a command into his phone.

"Gentleman, please come with us. Don't make this... whoa!!!" An unmanned, futuristic-looking bike stopped dead in front of Daniel, rushing at breakneck speed without making a sound. Its hover capabilities left everyone stunned, including the traffic police, who were unsure if they should arrest Daniel since the bike wasn't touching the ground and didn't fall under their jurisdiction.

Without hesitation, Daniel jumped onto the bike and flew off into the distance. The bike's armor closed around him, transforming it into a small aircraft that soared through the air, leaving the witnesses in awe and surprise.

"So... cool," the driver who was just cursing at Daniel a moment ago uttered in awe as he watched the futuristic flying bike vanish into the distance.

Inside the bike, Daniel checked with the command room and received a report that Koyuki's position was not within the South East Asia region either.

After hearing the report, Daniel pondered for a moment before giving new instructions to the command room.

"Check Koyuki's latest location while the receiver is still picking up her signals!" Daniel commanded while guiding his hover bike toward where he believed his wife's latest location would be.
