Chapter 748: The Main Character’s Secret

“It’s proceeding better than I expected.” Stencil muttered while staring at the battlefield from afar.

“But, I feel something is amiss.” Aronaut said, standing next to her, “Considering Slayer’s meticulousness, I feel this is too easy.”

He then noticed Gehera’s frown, asking her, “Did you find out something?”

“No, but I’ve yet to make a dent on Slayer’s power. It just seems infinite.” Gehera said in worry as she asked, “Do you know why this is happening?”

‘Is it because of his Grade 2 Core Skill?’ Aronaut thought, feeling that the likelihood of this possibility being true was guaranteed. In the history of System Slayers, there was just one that managed to obtain the Core Skill of a Grade 2 System.

Grade 2 Systems were on a whole other level as compared to Grade 1 Systems. They could create any entire race spanning in multiple worlds, modified to suit the different power systems inherent to the respective worlds.

If a Level 99 Grade 1 System was akin to a rich individual, a Grade 2 System was akin to a conglomerate. The wealth and influence difference between the two couldn’t even be compared.

“Maybe Slayer is using his Grade 2 Core Skill to create a new race somewhere else.” Aronaut stared at Gehera, “That might explain why you’re unable to make a dent in his power. It’s because he’s growing at a pace superior to the rate you’re stealing his power.”

And honestly, the thought of that frightened Aronaut. Even though he was one of the seven System Slayers to attain the peak, he didn’t know much about Slayer’s goal.

All along, he had assumed Slayer only wished to uplift the lives of the System Slayers. But it seemed reality was otherwise.

“Hopefully, things work out in our favour…” Aronaut said, pausing as he heard information transmitted by those of the Aero Society through a Mental Energy stream.

His face paled as he sighed, “It seems my worries came true.”

He stared at Stencil to say, “Balveta made an appearance in the south and has dealt a critical blow to the Xetuka Kingdom’s Guardian Saint.”

“Only a critical blow?” Stencil frowned at the news, ‘Why didn’t she kill him though? With her strength, things should be easy.’

At the thought, Stencil began to worry, feeling that she was yet to find out Slayer’s true intentions. After all, even after their interference, Slayer had yet to make a move personally.

He was basically conveying to them, “Look, your actions are inconsequential in comparison to my grand plans.”

‘Dad would have been able to interfere easily.’ She thought, sighing as she realised she wasn’t properly equipped to deal with such schemes.

Swoosh!

“Look out!” Aronaut shouted, transforming the Relic into a shield a over a dozen defensive Skills were activated, defending against an arrow brimming with over a dozen energy types.

The impact sent him flying through the Aira, poking a man-sized hole through it as he crashed deep into the Xetuka Kingdom’s territory.

“Aronaut!” Stencil shouted in alarm as she transformed into the Happy-Go-Lucky System, shocked upon seeing the entirety of her luck getting consumed to alter cause and effect.

Lightning bolts flashed out as they dug into the arrow that intended to impale her. The cause and effect variation slowed down the arrow’s flight, but it seemed to have an homing property, capable of teleporting to her irrespective of where it was.

Boom!

The lightning bolts began to refine the arrow using the speed dilation while Stencil’s new power began to destroy the effects of Skills imbued in the arrow.

She barely bought a second in time, reducing the power of the arrow as much as possible before which she created a shield, hugging Gehera in a protective embrace as the arrow still slammed into them, rupturing through the shield before destroying on her of arms.

The impact also sent the duo flying deeper into the Xetuka Kingdom.

“Keel…” Aronaut muttered in a hurry, healing himself as he leaped out of the crater, hurriedly teleporting towards the battlefield, staring in shock as he sighed in defeat, “Dammit!”

There, an arrow had destroyed the lower half of Kekumi Xetuka, causing the System in her body to sustain critical damage.

And using the opportunity, the two Giant Saints attacked her with all their might, resulting in a suicidal attack as they pierced her while she did the same to them.

Both parties were dead, their bodies collapsing to the ground after a couple of seconds spanned past.

“Kekumi Xetuka is dead. Now charge into the Xetuka Kingdom.” A voice resounded in the ears of every Giant on the battlefield, filling them up with renowned power as they charged uphill The Aira, laying siege to the northern fort.

The humans there retaliated with full power, causing the two sides to be at an impasse.

“You’ve grown strong, Aronaut.” Just as Aronaut planned to stop the war upon seeing their plans go up in smoke, a familiar voice resounded as the peak System Slayer, Keel appeared before him.

“What are you planning, Keel?” Aronaut glared in anger when suddenly, his eyes widened in shock before oozing out bloodlust, “You bastard!”

“You should hurry, Aronaut. Otherwise, your Aero Society would be no more.” Keel waved his hands nonchalantly, watching Aronaut grit his teeth and vanish from the scene, taking the injured Stencil and Gehera with him.

Though, once he vanished, Keel’s overconfident expression collapsed, replaced by a mild sense of nervousness, “What happened to Aronaut? He’s surpassed his initial strength. He seems scarier now.”

Runes revolved around him as through the exchange, Keel managed to divine some information, expressing his shock, “I see, that makes sense.”

He hurriedly teleported to the separate dimension created by Slayer, sparing not even a glance at the various Apostles that were chained down before him, their powers sealed.

He stared at the figure of Slayer that was conversing with the Witch Apostle, “Slayer, I figured out the Main Character’s secret.”

“Finally,” Slayer expressed vivid relief as he nodded, “Go ahead.”

“The Main Character…” Keel said, expressing his disbelief, “It’s not one person.”

“There are multiple Main Characters.”
