Chapter 512 A Vow of Respect

None at the tavern managed to witness what happened to the burly man. But the next thing they knew, they were staring at his figure that was reduced into a puddle on the ground. Moreover, a couple of seconds later, the puddle vaporised, leaving behind no traces.

Zorn hurriedly chased after the middle-aged man, shuddering upon seeing how the burly man was reduced into nothing. He hurriedly appeared beside the middle-aged man, asking in shock, “Senior, are you a legendary powerhouse?”

“A powerhouse isn’t legendary. There are a handful even in this city.” The middle-aged man said nonchalantly, “And I’m only at the Origin Refinement Stage.”

“You’re only at the Origin Refinement Stage? But you’re so powerful.” Zora had been listening to everyone once she gathered her bearings, exclaiming, unable to believe the middle-aged man’s words, “Impossible!”

“Nothing is impossible in this world.” The middle-aged man sighed a little, “There’s plenty of powers out there that can determine the fates of entire universe in a matter of seconds. In comparison, I am nothing more than the hair on an ant.”

“Anyway,” He gazed at Zorn, “You pledged your eyes to me, right?”

“Y-Yes.” Zorn nodded, flinching as he wondered if it would be painful to have his eyes pulled out.

“Then, do one thing for me.” The middle-aged man said, gently covering Zorn’s eyes with his hand, “Using your eyes, appreciate this world’s beauty in my place. I lost that capability long ago. Will you do it?”

“Yes!” Zorn nodded hurriedly.

“Good, I am Warktor.” The middle-aged man smiled, “And from today onwards, you’re my disciple.”

“Thank you, master!” Zorn prostrated on the ground.

After that, Warktor led them to a strange inhabited ruin, stopping before a Martial Spirit Awakening Altar, placing hundred Essence Stones in it as he made Zorn awaken his Martial Spirit. He also allowed Zora to awaken her Martial Spirit.

Zora awakened to the Human Martial Spirit, Mountain Goat while Zorn came as a surprise, awakening the Earth Martial Spirit, Granite.

It was a rare Martial Spirit that hadn’t ever appeared in the records of their Realm, causing him to be overjoyed. With an Earth Martial Spirit, his future would be bright. He could give a better life for his sister.

Her sister had a human Martial Spirit, which was more than enough to protect herself. So, it was a wonderous occasion for the twins.

It had only been on a whim, but Warktor decided to take care of them for some reason. Even though he only recognised Zorn as his disciple, but he also guided Zora in their way of cultivation.

After that, he brought the both of them to the Gaider Realm, buying a house in a remote town where hardly any cultivator bothered to visit. It was pretty much a mansion due to its size and it was where the twins lived for the next two years.

One fine day, Warktor packed his belongings to their surprise, stating, “I have to go perform my mission. There’s a good chance that I might not make it alive, so I bade you farewell here.”

“Master, please! If it’s that risky, please don’t go!” Zorn teared up immediately.

“Do you want me to stay here?” Warktor stared at the twins that nodded up and down repeatedly, suddenly stating with a cold tone, “Even if it means this Realm would be destroyed?”

“What?” The twins were shocked.

“There’s a war undergoing behind the scenes.” Warktor waved his hand, turning around to walk away, “And many things depend on this. So, I won’t stay behind. He both of you can manage yourselves from this point. Just lead content lives from now on. I’ve set aside enough wealth for you.”

“Master!” Zorn shouted all of a sudden, stating firmly, “C-Can I come with you?”

Warktor stared at Zorn for a couple of minutes in silence, slowly extending his hand, “Vow to me. Pledge that you won’t interfere no matter what happens. You’ll only be a silent spectator in everything.”

“Yes, I vow to do that.” Zorn pledged solemnly.

He then turned around, to grab Zora’s hands, “Will you be safe until I return? I promise, it won’t take long.”

“I know, brother.” Zora nodded, “Just…return alive. I want to accompany you too, but I’m not strong enough.”

The twins were already privy of Warktor’s Heaven Martial Spirit. And hence, they were aware that Zora wouldn’t be able to accomplish much when the situation turned dire. This was why she held herself back from requesting to accompany Warktor too.

“Let’s go then.” Warktor said as he and Zorn departed from the house, taking on a myriad of transport to slowly head towards the Folkan Secret Realm. Though, the moment they approached it, he could feel some gazes on him letting out a long sigh, “I see.”

“This would be more troublesome than I had expected.”

After that, the events in the Folkan Secret Realm played out, leading to the final confrontation between Warktor and the trio of Ranze, Xuer, and Bunuela.

Zorn left the place, watching everything from afar observing the terrifying power Warktor wielded that he casually bested three Heaven Martial Spirit cultivators.

And then, he only blinked once when it all happened.

The figure of a wolverine rushed through the battlefield and pierced through Warktor’s chest in a feat that defied everything. It morphed cause and effect through a mystical phenomenon.

Zorn trembled in fear, “How can humans go against that?”

He then saw his Master’s gentle smile at the time of his death, tearing up, “Master!”

He wished to head to his rescue immediately, but he stuck to his vow, for going against it would mean an insult to his Master, someone he respected the most. So, he gritted his teeth and endured.

After that, as the wolverine vanished, Zorn scoured through the place, soon noticing a double-headed tiger appear out of thin air and clamp the neck of a young girl. Its actions resembled the wolverine, making Zorn aware that it was by the same individual.

Though, he wasn’t able to understand the principle behind this phenomenon, observing with a focused stare upon seeing Rhizen’s figure emerge soon after as he clutched the girl’s body and began to cry.

“Just…what is happening?” Zorn was confused when he noticed two other individuals appear next to Rhizen, a man and a woman.

And when he heard their conversation from afar, his eyes widened in shock as it felt like something exploded in his mind.
