Sofia followed Fein’s advice. She closed his eyes, trying to fully concentrate. Just like that, she guided her mental and degu energy towards the weird black thing in her mind.
Suddenly, the rectangular diamond thing that was made of black mist trembled and started to release a black light.
Fein looked at the sudden change that was happening to Sofia. He canceled his Chess Perception and distances himself from Sofia. He watched carefully as raging black light seep off from her and started spreading from the surrounding. Seeing that the black light was spreading nearer to his current position, and still didn’t show signs of stopping. He decided to run, but as he was about to run, his system’s timely reminder came.

Sofia only saw how his hand, like an afterimage, sliced her dark energy in seconds. Although her speed was boosted, making her equal to him when comparing their base stats. But after fighting, she figured that what made the difference between their speed was his technique. Probably some assassination technique and his experience in battle. Every inch of Fein’s moves felt calculated. His micro-positioning was perfect, and every one of his moves had a purpose.
“Giving up already?” Fein said provocatively.
“Humph...” Sofia snorted, feeling frustrated that she still can’t gain an advantage to him. “Stop provoking me. You won’t succeed.”
Fein just chuckled in response to her statement.
Suddenly, a good idea appeared in Sofia’s mind that would give her an edge in their fight.
‘What if I combined my blood and dark energy? Wouldn’t it make my attack stronger and more lethal!?’ Sofia became excited, and her train of thought continues to run fast at unpredictable turns that made her became even more convinced.
As she was about to do it, she saw Fein cancel his ‘Chess Perception’ and heard him say in a low voice. “It’s time to end this.”

Sofia only manage to see a huge slash that forcibly cut her domain in half. Suddenly, darkness sucked her vision, as she fell unconscious due to the backlash of her ability.
