Chapter 613 The Contracts
During the time that she was unconscious, the scientists tried as much as they could, so that they could help her to wake up. But no matter how many times they tried, they did not possess the capabilities of rousing her back from the coma.
Anne had not expected that she was going to fall into a coma. So, she had not prepared a very large amount of money that was going to be used for the research. So, after some time, the amount of money that she had set aside for this research began dwindling.
Finally after 2 years, the amount of money had already been consumed, with only a little of it remaining. It was also at that time that the current president of Azima, Newton Deli decided to get himself involved in the politics.
He decided to use the amount of money that was remaining to form connections. And after a while, he had finally formed enough connections. Then, he went ahead and participated in the elections, and managed to secure the position of the president of the country.
After securing the position, he began playing games. He stated that he was going to develop the central province first before developing the other provinces. But of course, the money that was supposed to be used for developing the other provinces was what he was using for the research.
But then again, another year went just like that. The amount of money that he was consuming was so high that it was going to be difficult for him to be able to cover it up. So, using the connections that he had already created, he made sure that nobody questioned about the money that he was spending.
But then again, it reached a situation where the amount of money that he was setting aside for the research was not enough. So, he decided to begin eating the biggest share of the money that belonged to the government.
This of course caused a lot of problems, but they were easily taken care of with the connections that he had formed. But nevertheless, it had already began arousing suspicion all around, with even some of the connections that he was having feeling envious of him.
Of course, because he was using the money for research, he did not share much of it with those that had helped him. So, they began forming plans on what they were going to do in order to deal with Newton.
What happens if a person possesses a lot of connections? They would be capable of doing almost anything. But what happens if the connections were the ones that were turning against him? There was nothing that a person could do to resist.
Due to that reason, after all of the actions that he had been carrying for several years was released, Newton was finally abdicated from his position a month ago. And after he was removed from that position, he got stressed.
He still had a case that he needed to handle, I guess that might send him to jail for a very long time. But of course, he did not care about that, and just decided that he was going to stay with him the laboratory while observing the research progress.
But of course, he understood one thing, there was no way that he was going to be capable of staying within the laboratory forever. There was a time that he needed to go out.
When he was getting depressed, something magical happened. Out of nowhere, Anne suddenly opened her eyes. Additionally, she looked extremely strong, stronger than she was before.
When she woke up, she asked about how long it had been, and asked about the progress of the nation. Of course, he asked them about Jack, but they did not possess much information about him. After all, after he entered into the stronghold domain, they could not follow him in there.
Excited to meet her son again, Anne wasted no time and came to see Katelyn. Of course it would have been impossible for her to be able to find Katelyn had it not been for the fact that she had been capable of finding information about her easily.
That was why she came over. And when she arrived, she was informed by Katelyn that Jack had left together with Celine. And when she realized that both Jack and Celine were together, she was happy about it.
Of course she understood that by allowing Jack to regain his memories of Celine, it was a big risk. But, she decided to try it out. In any case, she believed that there was a great possibility that his memories of the abilities that he possessed was not going to be unlocked.
And it seemed that she was right. Looking at Jack who had all gone up right now, she was relieved.
"Well, that was quite a hurdle. Mother, you actually knew about the existence of the stronghold domain long ago? Do you perhaps know how it was created?" Celine asked as she looked at Anne.
"The creation of the stronghold domain was not that difficult. It was created by several people that possess the space manipulation special ability. With their combined effort, they managed to create the stronghold domain.
But of course, the size of the stronghold domain at that time was extremely small. But due to my presence, I was capable of expanding it using the resources that had suddenly appeared within the stronghold domain.
I managed to expand the stronghold domain, and after a while, it was how it is right now. Or maybe there are some changes that have occurred during that time that I was unconscious." Anne responded with a simple shrug.
Celine had already possessed information about the creation of the Stronghold domain. But of course, the information that she possessed was not right. According to what she had heard, the stronghold domain was created by a very powerful existence. It was this existed that was controlling the entire stronghold domain.
But the truth was actually the fact that although it had been created by humans, but they depended the on the resources of that could be found within the Stronghold domain. Otherwise, it would have been impossible for them to be able to create a 'world'.
"Wait a second. Don't tell me that the vacation that you told me about was actually going into the stronghold domain?" At this moment, as if she had noticed something, Katelyn asked as she looked at Celine with a stern expression on her face.
Celine simply looked away with a guilty expression on her face. Of course, she understood that they had lied to her mother, but it was simply because they did not want her to get worried. After all, if she understood the dangers that were within the stronghold domain, wouldn't she not allow them to go in?
But that was not something that either of them was willing. They wanted to go into the stronghold domain in order to be able to get stronger. And they had succeeded. Of course, all of this was related to Jack.
"You know, during that time, as I was moving around, I was making plans for you. But, I had not expected that I was going to fall into a coma that fast. That was the reason why I did not fulfill many of the contracts that I had signed." After a moment of silence, Anne spoke once again. After she finished speaking, she let out a sigh.
Of course everybody could understand what Anne was talking about, except for Katelyn. Until now, she was not in possession of much information about the stronghold domain.
"About the effects of the contract. Why is it that you don't seem to be affected by the contract although you signed it and you have not fulfilled it?" Jack asked curiously.
The moment that he asked this question, all those that had come from the stronghold domain paid attention. They wanted to know the truth about the contracts.
"You know, these contracts were created by me. I used a special ability that I possessed at that time to make sure that I created something like this. With the power of the special ability, whoever it was that signed the contract, as long as they did not fulfill their end of the contract, they would be published by the contract according to the punishment stated inside the contract." Anne stated as if what she was saying was nothing.
But the reaction of everyone around her reminded her about the fact that the special ability that she possessed seemed too overpowered. After all, it was not that easy to be able to create something like that.
"Then what about you? Are you also affected by that contract that you had created?" Celine asked.
Anne simply shook her head as she responded, "Of course not. The power of the contract depended on the person who created the contract. The punishment only occurred simply because the power of the contract was stronger than the person who had broken the contract.
But how was it possible that I was going to be stronger than myself during the time that I was creating the contract? Nonetheless, since the contract belonged to me, it could not work on me."
"How cunning of you." Katelyn said as she rolled her eyes. Although she did not understand everything about this contract that they were talking about, but nonetheless, she understood what a contract was.
"I had no choice. At the time, for the people that I was looking for to cooperate with me, they required the contract. It was only after the contract was signed that they believed it." Anne shook her head as she responded.
There was a moment of silence in the room for about a minute. And finally, Jack spoke. "What about these superpowers that you were talking about me possessing them?"
