Chapter 610 What Happened?
"It is nice seeing you all grown up Denali. You have completely exceeded my expectations." Anne said as she looked at Denali with the same warm and cheerful smile.
Denali blinked her eyes as she looked at Anne. She was not sure on how she was supposed to reply this time. It was not just due to the familiarity that she could feel with this lady, but, the way that Anne was addressing her was like the two of them were familiar with each other.
To say the truth, she had never expected that Jack's mother was going to address her in such a way. Additionally, this was actually the first time that they were meeting each other, so, why was it that she already knew her name? Did they meet before? Could that be the reason why she could feel that she was familiar with this lady in front of her?
When Anne looked at Denali, she realized that unlike her who was a little enthusiastic to meet with Denali, Denali was completely opposite. She looked confused about what she was talking about.
It was also at this moment that Anne seemed to remember something. "I forgot about something." Anne stated. In the next moment, she pointed her finger towards Denali.
All those that were observing from the side paid much attention, wondering what it was that Anne wanted to do. But, they were surprised that there was nothing that happened before Anne retreated her finger.
But it was just at this moment that Denali held her head, as she stumbled backwards. Samantha hurried and grabbed her, preventing her from falling on the ground.
Instead of letting Denali to continue standing, Samantha assisted her to sit on the ground. And even after sitting on the ground, Denali still continued holding her. On her face, there was a confused expression together with a hint of pain.
"I'm sorry about that. I should have already warned you from the start. I'm trying to unlock some of your memories. That is the reason why you are feeling that way right now." Anne stated apologetically.
Jack had been surprised by what his mother had done. But of course, he believed that there was nothing that his mother was going to do to Denali. After all, it was not as if there was enmity between them, right? Additionally, he could not detect any malice coming from his mother.
When Anne spoke, Jack was a little surprised. But nevertheless, to say the truth, he had already been expecting something like this. He had been thinking that his mother was the one that was related to his memories that were sealed away.
So right now, when she said that she was unlocking the memories that Denali possessed, the assumption that he was having was finally confirmed. And, he was quite curious about the current level that his mother was in.
But there was another strange thing that he noticed. That was, until now, the system had not given him any notification about his mother's current power level. Oh, wait, it seemed that he had received a system prompt earlier, but he had forgotten about it.
Although he was curious about the prompt that he had received from the system, he could already guess what it was. So, he decided to wait for a while, before he dealt with it.
After about a minute, the pain that Denali was undergoing finally subsided. And when it did so, there was a lot of confusion in Denali's eyes as she looked up. Then, that confusion began clearing up, before she finally understood what was happening.
At this moment, she looked at Jack with complex emotions in her eyes, but she did not say anything. And when Anne saw that, she could not help but let out a sigh.
"Finally, the reunion is over. So, why don't you get to something else? I'm pretty sure that your son is quite curious about where you had gone to all those years, and why he had been living in lies." Katelyn spoke at this moment.
The moment that she said those words, the atmosphere inside the office suddenly changed. Everybody looked at Anne, waiting for her to speak. Of course, the one who was most curious about what his mother was doing was none other than Jack.
He wanted to understand everything. Until now, he was not sure about what had happened, and that was something that made him feel insecure. Additionally, he wanted to understand the mysteries that were related to the system, but somehow linked to his mother.
Currently, he could already tell that there was a relationship between Denali and Anne. But then again, wasn't Denali someone that had been given to him by the system? He was even given the chance of selecting the skills that she was going to possess.

"All of you better get somewhere to sit. The story is going to be quite long, so, it's better if you are comfortable when you are listening." Anne stated as she took the lead and sat on the couch that was present in the office.
But of course, as she sat down, she pulled Celine together with her. Jack did not hesitate to go and sit on his mother's left side. It had been a while since the last time that he saw her, so he was not going to lose the chance of being together with her at all.
"So, this is the full story…" Anne, with a serious expression on her face, stated. And the moment that she began speaking, everyone paid attention, making sure that they were not going to miss any word that she was going to say.
It turned out that Anne had suddenly began feeling changes during the time that she was pregnant with Jack. At that time, she could not understand anything at all. She felt that he was getting stronger, and at the same time, she felt that the way that she perceived the world was changing.
And after the birth of Jack, the changes that were occurring in her body continued increasing. That was something that she did not gain any understanding of. So, she went to the hospital for checkups. But, according to the hospitals results, there was nothing wrong with her.
