Chapter 590 Arrival, Surprise
"There's someone here that wants to see you." Ruth stated as she looked at Wade.
Wade raised his brows as he looked at Ruth. He was a little surprised to considering that most of the time, in case there was anybody that came over, and had an issue that needed to be handled, she was the one that usually did so.
But now, it seemed that whoever it was that had come over did not come to the Storm family, but instead, they came for him personally. Otherwise, how was it possible that Ruth would come over and inform him of something like that, that someone was here to look for him?
"Who is it?" Wade asked. Sylvia also looked at Ruth, wondering who it was that was here to see her brother. It was so rare for people to come and look for her brother considering that he was not a person that really much focused on the management of the family.
Instead, Wade was a person that mainly dealt with the combat power of the family. Currently, although he was not the strongest within the family, but still, he was not weak as well. He could be considered as a formidable force within the family, only second in the family.
"There is a young man here who claims to be called Jack. He says that he has a business deal that you will be interested in." Ruth shrugged her shoulders as she responded.
The moment that she mentioned the name Jack, Sylvia was surprised. At the same time, she could not help but wonder if it was the same Jack whom she had come together with to the stronghold that was coming over to the Storm family.
Although she was surprised, she managed to maintain her composure. But nevertheless, her brother Wade had already noticed the shift that she was having. Nonetheless, he did not say anything about it for now.
"Ask him to come over. I'm quite curious about the reason why he wants to trade with me, instead of you who is actually in charge of something like that." Wade responded.
Ruth nodded her head in response. Immediately after that, she turned around and left the room. As for Wade, he turned around and looked at Sylvia with a calm expression on his face as he asked, "Do you perhaps know anything about the person that is coming over?"
"I only heard the name. I don't even know who this person is, so, how can I tell if I do know him or not?" Sylvia responded with a helpless expression on her face.
Wade was about to ask something when suddenly, another person entered into the room. It was none other than Alicia. She looked at her father with a disgruntled expression on her face and said, "Father, I need to talk to you about something."
Wade looked at his daughter with squinted eyes. Then, he said, "Can you not see that I'm talking to your aunt? You will have to come back later on because I'm currently busy."
"But dad, this matter is urgent." Alicia was unwilling to give up. So, she continued insisting, hoping that her father was going to agree to speak to her.
Wade wanted to refuse, but Sylvia spoke up for Alicia. "Just talk to the child. It seems that what she has in mind is kind of urgent that needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. As for me, we can discuss about what we were talking about later on."
Wade frowned. He could tell that Sylvia was also trying to dodge the topic that he was asking. But still, he decided to give in for now, considering that even if he decided to talk with Sylvia, there was somebody else that was coming in to see him. So, the conversation was going to be postponed for a moment until he completed the issue concerning the person called Jack.
"Okay go ahead. What is it that you want to talk about? If it is something long, it will have to wait because there's something else that I need to do not long from now." Wade stated as he looked at Alicia.
Alicia went ahead and sat next to Sylvia. Then, she took a deep breath before she finally began speaking. "Father, I don't want to get married to that guy called David. I don't like him at all. Even if I have to get married to a person that I don't love, that David is definitely not the one that I would like to be married to."
Wade let out a sigh. He had expected that Alicia was going to be against the matter of arranged marriages. And he himself was actually against something like this as well. But, this was something that was completely unavoidable.
Even the marriage between him and Ruth was something that was arranged, and was not something that the two of them had planned from the very start. That was how it has always been, marriages for benefits of the family.
And right now, although he wanted to give his daughter all that she asked for, there was one thing that he could not give her, and that was the freedom to select her partner for marriage, unless the partner that she was going to select was someone that was qualified enough to be married in their family.
"You know that that is not something that I can decide on, right? This is something that was decided by your grandfather. Although it seems that your mother is the one that is controlling everything, but still, you have to understand that your grandfather is the real decision maker of the family until he decides to give up the full power of the family." Wade stated helplessly.
"But I already found another person who is capable of marrying me. I'm pretty sure that even if grandfather doesn't want a person who doesn't have a background, as long as he sees the person that I want to get married to, he would definitely agree." Alicia stated stubbornly.
The person that she was referring to was of course Jack. Until now, she had not managed to get out of the stronghold. Still, she had been trying as much as she could, again as much information as she could about Jack.
But no matter how many times she tried, she was not capable of gaining any information about Jack. It was as if Jack had disappeared from the normal world. The moment that she realized that Jack was no longer in the normal world, she thought that perhaps he had come into the stronghold domain.
So, she thought that this was a good chance that she could use. If she managed to convince her father so that he could cooperate with her mother, he was sure that they would be able to convince her grandfather so that they would begin looking for information about Jack actively.
But from the looks of it, it was definitely going to be difficult to be able to convince her father. She knew him all too well. He was a person that once he made a decision, he would hardly change it.
"I'm quite curious about this person that you are talking about. But from the looks of it, this conversation is going to be quite long. So, why don't we talk about it after I am done with another issue that I'm about to handle right now?" Looking at his daughter's expression, Wade decided not to talk about the matter right now.
So, he decided to shift the topic, so that he could put that matter aside for now. After handling all the issues that he was having at hand, he was going to discuss this issue together with his wife, so that they could see how they were going to handle the matter of Alicia's marriage.
Alicia was just about to say something when she heard footsteps approaching. Curiously, she looked over, wondering who it was that was coming over. But, the moment that she saw who it was, her eyes could not help but widen in surprise.
Out of reflex, she stood up on her feet. The movements made by Alicia startled Sylvia who was also forced to look towards the direction of the entrance into the living room.
And when she looked over, she was also surprised. Although she had been expecting that it might be him, the probability of him coming here was actually so low. Additionally, he did not come over to look for her, but instead, he came here to look for her brother.
Looking at the reaction of the two people, Wade could not help but frown a little bit. This was definitely the first time that he was seeing such an expression on his daughter's face. At the same time, looking at Sylvia, he could immediately tell that she knew who this person who had come over was.
With curiosity, Wade looked at the young man who was following behind Ruth. This young man possessed unique silver hair, with blue eyes that shone with a bright light that indicated the confidence that he possessed.
Other than that, he had an athletic body, and although he was currently wearing clothes, he could still see the outline of his muscles in some areas. And other than that, the appearance of this young man was definitely top-notch.
As he walked over, he was confident in each step that he took. He did not seem to have come to a place that belonged to a big force in the entire stronghold, but instead, it was if he had just walked into an ordinary shop.
As for his eyes, they did not move around, looking at the expensive items or advanced technological products that were present in the room. But instead, he was simply focusing on Wade.
