Chapter 559 The Benefits Have Been Doubled
Sylvia was just about to say something when suddenly, they heard the sound of a vehicle stopping outside of the building. And at that point, Sylvia said, "They are already here."
Jack did not say anything in response to that. Of course, his senses as a superhuman at the 5th stage of the superhuman level were obviously way above Sylvia's. So, he had already noticed that there was actually a car that had come to the building.
Since they came to this stronghold, the people that they had interacted her with were none other than Daniel and his sister Ivy. Other than them, there was this guy from the pandas organization craftsmanship department, Johnson.
As for the rest of the people, he really did not have much dealings with them. Of course, the people from the force organization were amongst the people that he had interacted with, but, there was nothing good that had occurred between them. So, there was definitely no reason for them to be coming to see him.
After about a minute or two, there was a knock at the door. It seemed that just as they had expected, the people that had come over had actually come to see them.
The building that had been purchased by Jack and his group was not like those with their own courtyards and compounds. Instead, it was just located along the street, like how some apartments were.
"Just come in. The door has not been locked." Jack responded to the knock.
The doors slid to the side and in came two people. One of them was Matthias, and another one was a stranger that Jack did not really know. Of course, he had already received information about this guy, but, he had not actually looked about the appearance of this person.
Nevertheless, the puppets had already described to him about the appearance of this person. So, the moment that he saw him, he immediately knew that this was actually the superhuman that had come over.
[This person is at the seventh stage of the superhuman level.]
As usual, a system prompt appear in front of him informing him about the power level of the person that had appeared. Just like the information that Sylvia had provided, this person was actually at the seventh stage of the superhuman level.
"Oh, hello. Would you mind telling me why you came looking for me?" Jack asked as soon as the group entered the room.
In this building, as long as a person used the main entrance, then, they would first come to the ground floor's living room. But, it was this living room that had been transformed by Jack into a workshop.
"No welcome?" The man who had appeared asked with a smile on his face. It was clear that he did not really care about what Jack had said.
Jack looked at the blonde man in front of him and asked, "If I was not actually welcoming you, then, I would have not allowed you into my house, you know that right?"
The man thought about it for a moment before he nodded his head as he responded, "Fair enough. But anyway, I really have something to talk to you about."
Jack was actually a little surprised that this guy had come over, but all this ill, he had not shown any ill intent towards him. From the expression that was on his face together with his actions, it seemed that he had come here for a talk, rather than a fight.
Well, this was something that was completely out of Jack's expectations. He was not the only one considering that even Sylvia was actually surprised by this.
Jack had after all killed two people, one of them at the third stage of the superhuman level, and another one at the second stage of the superhuman level. That was going to be considered as a loss to the organization.
Of course, the resources that were used in order to nurture the two of them could be ignored. But, what really mattered was actually the face of the organization. Jack's action immediately disgraced the Force organization.
That implied that he really did not care about the Force organization. So, if they did not actually take action about the matter, then, many people were actually going to talk negatively about them.
lightsΝοvεl ?οm "I am all ears. I wonder what it is that you want to talk about." Jack stopped whatever it was that he was doing and focused on the man in front of him.
It might be true that this person had not shown any intention of attacking, but, who could guarantee that he would not do that in the next moment? So, he had to be prepared.
"No tea or coffee? Or maybe juice or water?" The blonde guy asked again. He was wondering why it was that Jack was not even that welcoming considering that he had actually not come over showing any aggressiveness.
Nevertheless, it was not as if he really cared about something like coffee or tea. If he really wanted that, he could get as much as he wanted considering that it was nothing to a person of his caliber.
"Not really. It is going to take some time for me to be able to prepare something like that. But, it is just that the time is something that I don't have. I have got a lot of work to do." Jack responded.
"Oh, I see." The blonde middle-aged man responded. At the same time, he looked around, looking at the equipment in the room. To say the least, he was actually surprised that Jack was actually into something like this.
"Anyway, I'll go straight to the point. I know that we started all this on the wrong footing. But anyway, I hope that you can forgive the actions of the people that had come over before me." The blonde middle-aged man stated.
Of course, he could tell that Jack was actually impatient. And since he was here not for a fight, he decided to go straight to the point.
"They already paid for that. Since they are dead, I don't think there's any need for us to talk about them anymore." Jack responded nonchalantly.
The lips of the blonde-haired man twitched a little after hearing how nonchalant Jack was. Although he was actually talking to Jack like this, normally, he should have actually attacked Jack first.
But that was definitely not something that he was going to do. The mission that he had been given was to bring Jack back to the Force organization. It was just that, everybody had a method of their own.
"Okay then. Let me introduce myself. I am Sebastian Cliff, a member of the Force organization. I am from the headquarters. The main aim of me coming over here is the same as the one that the previous group before me came here for." The blonde haired man stated.
"I think you should already know about the response that I gave. Otherwise, something like what had happened before would not have actually happened at all." Jack responded.
"Of course, I know about that. Those two were actually idiots. Simply because they could not convince you, they decided to use their own strength to subdue you. But, it turned out that they were actually not capable of doing what they were aiming for." Sebastian stated as if he did not really care about the lives and death of the two people that had died.
Well, that was the truth. Although the two of them were actually considered superior in small Strongholds, when it came to the big Strongholds, they were just like ordinary humans, those below level 7 in these small strongholds.
Sebastian was not a musclebrain. Instead, he was a person that really thought a lot, and he could be considered smart. That was actually the reason why he had said that the other two had actually failed to convince Jack, and not that Jack had actually refused.
"Well, before we proceed to anything else, I'll have to inform you that I'll not be changing my mind about this matter. I already made a decision of my own, so, no matter how much you try to convince me about this matter, then, you have to know that I will not change my mind about it." Jack stated seriously.
"Of course, I know about that. But, what if I tell you that the offer that was given to you previously has actually been doubled?" Sebastian shook his head as he responded. Of course, he knew that it was going to be difficult to be able to convince Jack to go back with him.
"An increase in the profit that I'm going to receive from your organization is no different from an increase in the restrictions that I'm going to receive after I join your organization. And, restrictions are things that I don't want at all. I want to be free. But, that is definitely not something that your organization can grant me." Jack shook his head as he responded.
At this point, since the other party was not attacking, then, Jack was not going to do that. Instead, if they could actually talk things through, then, that was going to be okay.
Of course, Jack already knew that it was going to be an impossibility for him to be able to get out of this matter with just a simple talk. Instead, he required to have enough strength to be able to fight for his own position.
So, if he could be given time, then, perhaps he would be able to get something bigger, something that was going to be able to enable him to get stronger. So, all that he could do right now was to buy time.
Of course, he could use the three slots to increase his strength, but that was something that he was saving for later on. If possible, he did not even want to think about using those three chances.
