Chapter 516 Taking the Boosting Pill
"Oh! It seems that we have a new guest. Why don't you introduce yourself?" Jack stated as he looked at the old man that had appeared at the entrance of the store. His demeanor was nonchalant, as if he was not in front of a stage 3 superhuman that was about to attack him.
Vincent looked at the scene, dumbfounded. He could not understand what was going on anymore. He had thought that things were going to be easy for him to handle, but he had not expected that they were going to get even more complicated.
Initially, he had rushed to the Panthers organization together with Derek. There, he left Derek to be treated. But, due to the fact that the level of technology and resources that could be found in this stronghold was not that high, it would take some time for Derek to be able to recover from the injuries that he had suffered.
Since he was afraid that Derek would cause a problem by being reckless once again, he decided to handle the matter when he was unconscious. Although the mission was assigned to Derek, the one that was expected to complete the mission was actually him. After all, there was no way that Derek could deal with a superhuman.
He had thought that, If he was forced to use force, then he would do that. After all, the mission that he was given was of great importance and there was no way that he was going to allow any failure to happen.
But now, it seemed that he had to change the strategy. At this point, he had already realized that there was actually a confrontation that was ongoing here due to how tense the atmosphere was.
'Could it be that other organizations and families have already gotten the information? And, they have acted faster that we did.' Vincent thought to himself as he looked at Watson and Smith.
It was a coincidence that the two of them were not that far from this stronghold and that was the reason why they were able to get here that fast. But, these two, they had already gotten here, most probably coming from their own stronghold.
When Jack was just about to say something after realizing that the old man was not going to say anything, Watson beat him to it.
"Who are you and what do you want here?" Although Watson was not able to tell the exact level of strength that the old man possessed, he still felt that there was a sense of danger that came from him. That implied that the old man had to be a superhuman.
Since that was the case, he became cautious. He did not know the reason for the appearance of an unknown superhuman here, but, he felt that there might be some relationship between the old man and Jack. After all, Jack's attitude told him that there had to be something that was going on between the two.
"I don't care about who you are, but, I just hope that you will not get in my way. I have something to deal with him." Vincent stated as he looked at Jack.
At this point, Vincent had already decided that he had to take Jack with him as well. After all, Jack was yet another person who was below the age of 25 who had managed to reach the superhuman level. So, he believed that, it was going to be beneficial to the family as long as he took both Jack and Celine back to the stronghold where the family was located.
Additionally, he believed that if he brought the two back to the family, then, he would definitely be rewarded. Moreover, although he was not sure about the reason why he had not received the information about Jack, but still, it seemed to be expected because even he himself had not realized that Jack was actually a superhuman, not until he had taken action personally.
"If that is the case, then, you leave me no choice but to chase you away personally." Smith said. And in the next moment, he prepared himself to attack. He did not care that they were currently inside a stronghold, and if the fight between the two of them was going to cause a commotion.
In his mind, he had already decided that, he was going to deal with the old man as fast as possible, before dealing with Jack. After that, by the time that the rest of the organizations and families reacted, he would have already gone back to the Force stronghold.
"Hold it there! You are trying to destroy my store? Do you think that I got this store for free? I had no choice but to borrow money so that I could rent this store and purchase everything that is inside. If you are willing to compensate me, then, perhaps I might allow you to destroy it." Jack stood on his feet as he said these words.
At this moment, he was not going to allow just anybody to destroy the store. After all, it was not that easy for him to be able to develop a store within the stronghold. Additionally, it was not as if he possessed a large amount of funds, and he was not willing to start going around to look for another store that he was going to purchase or rent.
But Vincent and Smith who were prepared to face each other stopped for a moment before they glanced at Jack. But in the next moment, they both ignored him as they looked at each other cautiously.
At this point, even the old man had already realized that Smith was actually at the third stage of the superhuman level. The same was for Smith. So, at this moment, both of them realized that the moment that they attacked each other, then, they were definitely going to suffer several wounds.
