Chapter 436 They Should Eat More Carrots
The moment that she came to this realization, she suddenly felt that the world that she was trapped in began shattering. And in the next moment, she opened her eyes, looking at the unfamiliar ceiling.
"Oh, you are awake?!" Celine who had just been looking at Samantha's face was surprised when she realized that Samantha had opened her eyes. Of course, she was excited.
Despite the fact that the bond between her and Samantha was not that deep, but, she still cared about Samantha. After all, they had spent a lot of time together, and Celine was not willing to lose a person that had shared a lot of things with her.
"What happened? Were you just talking about a mirage crystal?" Samantha asked as she sat up. She realized that she was currently inside a bedroom, and she was sleeping on top of a luxurious bed.
But, the decorations of the room were completely unfamiliar to her. She had already been living inside Jack's villa for some time now, so, she knew Jack's and Celine's aesthetics. But, the way that this room was decorated, she knew that this was definitely not Jack's Villa.
But, there was something that she could not understand. After all, it was not long ago that the light began shining while they were in the forest. But in the next moment, she found that the world had frozen, and when she realized that it was an illusion, she was suddenly inside of this room.
"You know about the mirage crystal? Can you tell me more about it?" Jack asked calmly as he stood by the bedside.
Despite being confused, Samantha decided to give the description of the mirage crystal to Jack and Celine. "The mirage crystal is something that is not easy to be found. It is a resource that many people in the Stronghold always covet, and, it is something that can affect even superhumans."
"The real source of the Mirage crystal is not known, but, it is always found in the battlefield. I don't know how it is created, but, after some time, it always appears. But, as usual, most of the resources that are found in the battlefield are always taken by the biggest strongholds. As for the other small strongholds, they only pick up crap."
"The effect of the mirage crystal is that, it can create illusions that the one that activates the crystal wants others to see. Once a person is trapped inside, then, they will not be able to break out of the illusion unless they realize that they were inside an illusion, or, they stayed within it for about 6 hours." Samantha finalized.
"This crystal seems to be quite overpowered. I guess the strongholds really possess some incredible things. I just wonder how it is going to be when I get there." Jack stated calmly.
At this moment, he had already begun thinking about the multiplier effect. As long as he earned a resource in the stronghold, then, there was going to be a multiplier effect, considering that it was an income that he had earned.

When Celine was approaching Doris, Doris suddenly exerted strength in the hand that was holding the mirage crystal. The next moment, she felt a little pain as if there was something that was prickling her palm.
Nevertheless, she did not react. She knew that this was normal. And, just before Celine arrived in front of Doris, a blinding white light suddenly erupted from the mirage crystal.
The light spread widely, covering about a diameter of 1 km. And, the moment that the light receded, Doris and her group looked at Jack's group with disdain in their eyes.
"Humph! I never expected that we were going to be forced to use a mirage crystal. It only has three chances of usage, but, we have already utilized one of them. I'm pretty sure that the vice supreme leader is going to be p*ssed off." John stated as he looked at Jack.
"What are you guys still waiting for? We should hurry and get out of here. If they get out of the illusion, then, it is going to be troublesome for us. We might be forced to use all the three chances in this 'simple' mission." Doris looked at the three that were still looking at Jack's group, as she stated with impatience in her voice.
Previously, Doris had been planning that, when she activated the mirage crystal, then, they were going to retreat. But, looking at the fact that Jack and his group had suddenly froze, she decided against it.
If they retreated now, then, it was going to be very difficult the next time to be able to complete the mission. So, it was way better if they completed the mission considering that they currently had a chance of doing so.
The other three reacted. They knew that the mission that they had been sent to was important. So, they decided to leave. But, as they were beginning to move away, Ken suddenly noticed something.
With a frown on his face, he asked, "Are you sure that this group is supposed to be blinking when they have been affected by the mirage crystal?"
Doris looked back, and realized that, other than Samantha, both Jack and Celine were blinking their eyes as they looked at them.
Even though she felt that there was something wrong, Samantha already thought of a reason. "Better hurry up now. It seems that the effect of the mirage crystal is not that strong on superhumans. We have to get out of here as soon as possible before they wake up." Doris stated urgently.
The entire group had never witnessed a mirage crystal being utilized. So, despite the fact that they had heard information about it, this was the first time that they were seeing the effect of the mirage crystal with their own eyes.
The entire group wanted to rush towards the wall that was around the Jesda residence. But at this moment, they realized that the five ladies that had been surrounding them previously, at some point, had already arrived in front of them.
They were looking at them hostilely, as if they (Doris's group) were going to make any other movements, they (the puppets) were going to attack.
Doris frowned. Not believing that the Mirage Crystal did not have any effect on these ladies, she moved to the side, wanting to pass using another side, but, she realized that the five ladies also moved and blocked their path.

Wanting to confirm, Doris turned around, and she realized that, both Jack and Celine were moving around as if nothing had happened at all. "Yo…you! How can you not be affected by the mirage crystal?"
"Eh? Do the people in your stronghold get affected by a mere light show? If that is the case, then, they are supposed to eat more carrots and go to the hospital for the doctor to check their nervous system. They are supposed to react instinctively by closing their eyes in front of a bright light." Celine replied as she continued taking a step forward.
It was obvious that she had not given up on making Doris speak and answer the questions that Jack was asking.
