Chapter 434 Celine's Other Side
"Well, I was the one that was talking before. Why don't you let me ask the questions first before you begin the confrontation?" Jack, who was being completely ignored asked coldly.
Samantha decided to completely remain silent. She had already witnessed the times that Jack was angry, and she was not willing to face his anger. Additionally, she knew that no matter what, the group in front of her was going to be dealt with.
Moreover, even though there was enmity between the Butterfly organization and the Panthers organization, that did not imply that everyone was an enemy of the other from the opposite organization.
Instead, it was just like how it had happened between her and Erick, the two of them had actually fallen in love with each other. But, it turned out that the love between the two of them was never bound to mature and it died early.
So, no matter how many questions the group in front of her was going to ask, she was going to remain silent and follow all the instructions that Jack was going to give.
Other than the fact that she had signed the contract to follow all his instructions, there was also a fact that she was planning to remain by his side, so, she had to make sure that she gave the better image of her in front of Jack.
"What is it now? You better stay out of this until we are done with this b*tch. After we are done with that, we will be back to deal with you. Don't get to cocky simply because you have five ladies that are at the same level as us." Doris stated as she looked at Jack angrily.
But, she had just said those words when suddenly, she felt a terrifying aura erupting and pressing down on her. She was completely petrified as she looked in the direction of the source of the aura.
The next moment, her eyes widened in disbelief. Shell shocked, she trembled as she looked at Celine as she said, "H…how…how can this be possible? There is no way that you are a superhuman! You are too young to be a superhuman! What is your real background?!"
Since they had already investigated about Jack, then, they definitely knew about Celine. From their investigation, they had already found out that Celine was just a normal girl with some skills in terms of business.
For her background, other than the fact that they possessed incredible wealth, and some influence in the country, there was nothing much. That implied that, she had no relationship with the strongholds, and she didn't seem to know about them anyway.
But now, the one that they had thought that was going to be a simple target in case they wanted to take care of her, had suddenly become a superhuman. And, the pressure that she was putting upon them was actually way higher as compared to the one that the supreme leader of the organization possessed.
"If you ever dare to talk like that to my man, then believe me, I will gouge your eyes out. Had it not been for the fact that Jack still has some questions to ask you, I would have already killed you." Celine stated in a chilling voice.
At this moment, she had already revealed her cold personality. And as Jack looked at her, he realized that, this was the same way that Celine was during the time that they had made for the first time after separating for a long time.
The coldness in her voice as she spoke to someone hostile, was the same one as the one that she possessed during the time that Brandon had shot him on the shoulder. (Brandon is Olivia's dead police partner. Ref chapter 248.)
Jack continue to get a full understanding of Celine. Even though she was always an easy to go person to those that knew her well and were in a good relationship with her, to others that were hostile, she was an ice beauty.
Doris shrunk her neck when she heard that. She could tell that Celine would have actually acted had it not been for the fact that they were currently being questioned by Jack. Just the killing intent that she was emitting was enough to terrify her.
But, after she felt the mirage crystal that she was holding in her hand, her confidence finally returned. With the mirage crystal, she did not have to fear anything even if the person in front of her was actually a superhuman.
Nevertheless, she did not act recklessly. Currently, there was a mission that they needed to complete. So, if they decided to do something and it interrupted the mission, then, they were going to receive a greater punishment and they might not be able to handle it.
So, Doris prevented the rest of the group that was about to react to the matter, and looked at Jack silently, waiting for him to speak.
"Okay then. My first question is, why were you looking for my aunt after not finding Nathan?" Jack asked once again.
"You know where Nathan went to?" Doris asked calmly despite the fact that she was completely surprised by the fact that Jack was calling Anita his aunt rather than mother.
"I am the one asking questions here, and not the other way around." Jack looked at Doris and responded coldly.
Doris frowned in displeasure. She did not like the way that Jack was talking to her, but, looking at Celine who was looking at her with a frosty expression on her face, she decided not to do anything else. Even though she possessed the mirage crystal, that did not mean that she was going to risk everything for it.
Currently, she knew that she did not know anything about the background of the people in front of her. The one that they had investigated was just a fuss. There was nothing that actually stated the truth about the people in front of her.
Additionally, from Jack's words, she could tell that he had already met with Erick. And of course, she had already realized this, considering that, Samantha was by his side.
"We were looking for Nathan simply because he possesses information that we were looking for. As for now, since he had disappeared, we were planning to look for Anita because she is the one we were needing to gain information from." Doris replied.
Of course, there was no way that she was going to claim that the person that they had been looking for all along was Anita. If she told them that, then, they might as well use Anita to gain something from them. That was not something that they were willing to risk.
Additionally, Anita was a member of their family. That implied that, they were not going to willingly allow them to take her away. And of course, Doris had already begun changing the plan that she had in mind.
"Information, huh? I see. Anyway, even if I don't want to care about that piece of information that you wanted to get from my aunt, but, this matter still concerns me. So, why don't you tell me what might be the reason why you want information from my aunt?" Jack asked.
Before Doris or the other three men could reply, Jack continued, "I do believe that my aunt is living an ordinary life. So, no matter how much I think about it, I don't think that there might be any piece of important information that might interest the Panthers organization."
Doris and the rest were not surprised by the fact that Jack already knew about the organization that they belonged to. But, their expressions changed due to the question that he had asked.
The reason why they were out was already kept as a secret from the other organization's present in same stronghold as them. But, the reason why they were looking for Anita was something that even some of those that were of the top echelons of the Panthers organization did not know about it.
"You can ask me about anything, but, there is no way that I'm going to give you a response to that. Other than the fact that I have already signed a contract that prevents me from revealing anything, I am loyal to my organization, unlike that ungrateful b*tch." Doris responded.
Samantha was not offended by what Doris had said. Instead, she did not feel any guilt at the fact that she had abandoned the Butterfly organization.
In this world, it was a matter of benefits. All that people cared about was themselves. So, although it was true that the butterfly organization had provided a lot for her, but in return, she had also done a lot for the butterfly organization.
She was amongst those that had played a big role to be able to make the butterfly organization the second leading force in the entire stronghold. So, even if she left, she did not think that there was anybody that was going to blame her for being ungrateful.
At the end of the day, she was never completely loyal to that organization. The organization bound her, and restrained much of her freedom. Now, even though she was working as a slave for a year, she was not being treated as one, even though she had already signed a contract that was binding her to Jack.
"You are not going to talk? Or should I perhaps force you to talk?" Jack asked as he looked at the group of four in front of him.
At the same time, Celine thought that this was her chance. Since she had already become a superhuman, then, she was willing to help Jack with some things like this.
So, she decided to deal with Doris because she found that Doris had a sharp tongue. Additionally, it was just a method of protecting her man from another woman, even though she knew that Jack did not have any interest in Doris.
When Doris saw that Celine was approaching her, she panicked inside. At the same time, she did not hesitate and increased the strength of the hand that she was holding the mirage crystal with.
The moment that this happened, a blinding white light suddenly shot out, completely enveloping the surrounding area. The mirage crystal had been activated.
